  • Patent number: 11878398
Abstract: A pressing tool performs a pressing operation for the press fitting of parts. One part can have different outer dimensions within a specified range. A tool part acts on the part, is a part of a pivoting jaw which has an action surface, and can be pivoted about a pivot axis from a starting position having a greatest opening width to a pressing position having a smaller opening width. A hydraulic piston movable in a hydraulic cylinder applies a piston force, depending on a hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic cylinder. A higher pressing force is in effect when a greater opening width of the pivoting jaw is provided and when the maximum piston force is reached. When any opening width that is smaller than the greater opening width is provided, a pressing force lower than the higher pressing force is in effect when the maximum piston force is reached.

  • Patent number: 11678473
Abstract: A machine that is used to automate the assembly of a circuit board assembly is provided. The machine includes a rotating indexer, at least one anvil holder, a punch, and an activation switch. The at least one anvil holder is carried by the rotating indexer and is configured to receive a connector pin. The anvil holder is rotatable relative to the punch, such that the at least one anvil holder may be aligned with the punch. A circuit board may be located about the connector pin, after which the activation switch may be activated to cause movement of the punch towards the anvil holder. When this occurs, the connector pin is compressed, which causes the connector pin to be secured to the circuit board. More specifically, a top section of the connector pin is compressed to form a top lip, where the circuit board is located between the top lip and a shoulder of the connector pin.

Abstract: A tool for compressing a connector onto a coaxial cable includes a pair of gates, a plunger for compressing the connector against the gates and onto the coaxial cable, and an actuator in communication with the gates and the plunger. When the actuator is moved from a first position to a second position, it causes the gates to move from an open to a closed position in which they retain the coaxial cable and brace the connector, and the plunger moves from a first position to a second position in which it engages the connector to compress the connector against the gates and onto the coaxial cable. When the actuator is moved back to its first position, the gates move to their open position thereby releasing the coaxial cable and the plunger moves to its first position thereby disengaging from the connector.

  • Patent number: 8800134
Abstract: The present invention relates to a positioning device for positioning an element to be crimped in a crimping tool, for example a wire end sleeve or an electrical connecting plug. The invention further relates to a crimping tool for crimping a connecting element to be situated in a pressing axis. To allow the element that will be crimped to be brought into the pressing axis, the positioning device has a retaining unit for retaining, about its periphery, the element that will be crimped. The retaining unit has a retaining opening which encompasses the pressing axis coaxially. The positioning device further permits the positioning of the element that will be crimped within the pressing axis, in order, in particular, to ensure the necessary insertion depth of the element to be crimped in the crimping tool. For this purpose, the positioning device of the invention has an axial stop, with which the position in the pressing axis of the element to be crimped can be defined.

Abstract: In a displacement detecting method, displacement between a strip-shaped electrode (13) and the strip-shaped separator (14) is detected. The strip-shaped separator (14) is semitransparent. In the method, first, the strip-shaped electrode (13) is photographed through the strip-shaped separator (14) at a position where the strip-shaped electrode (13) and the strip-shaped separator(14) are stacked (photographing step). Based on an image photographed in the photographing step, displacement between the strip-shaped electrode (13) and the strip-shaped separator (14) is detected (displacement detecting step). In a displacement amount measuring method of measuring the displacement amount, the displacement amount between the strip-shaped electrode (13) and the strip-shaped separator (14) is calculated based on the image photographed in the photographing step.

  • Patent number: 7757386
Abstract: A crimping device has a contact advancer provided with an exchangeable anvil part. A first pulley, a belt and an advancing motor drive a first carriage. A gripper for advancing the contact belt is guided in a direction crosswise to a direction of the first carriage. The distance between the gripper and the first carriage is determined by a second carriage and a roller of the gripper rolling in a fifth linear guide of the second carriage. The distance from the gripper is predetermined by the exchangeable anvil part and depends on the width of the contact belt. The gripper operates independent of the distance between the transport holes and independent of the width of the contact belt. The anvil part including the belt guide is an exchangeable part and only fits one type of crimp contact and is executed crimp-contact specifically.
