  • Patent number: 6317949
Abstract: A device and method for placing band on bait for connecting bait first and second components is set forth which includes a loader having a barrel with at one end a retainer to hold the first component against the end of the barrel and at the other end a smaller diameter handle. An elastic band is provided to be received over the handle and to elastically expand as it is passed such as by sliding or rolling from the handle onto the barrel. As the band is moved off of the barrel end it contracts about the bait to provide a band on the bait for holding, for example, a hook or to band together first and second lure components. The retainer may be a barb or a clip. Further means may be provided to interchange between the type of retainer.

  • Patent number: 5960678
Abstract: An automatic stress plate feeder includes a generally horizontal stress plate magazine holding a series of generally flat stress plates each positioned generally vertically on edge therein. An electric motor drives the stress plates through the magazine, to drop them singly at a pickup point where they are picked up by a pair of magnetic arms and positioned generally horizontally beneath a screw gun extension. The screw gun extension includes a compression spring therein, causing it to telescope upwardly to provide clearance for each stress plate to be positioned beneath the screw gun extension and its bit. A screw feeder tube provides for the introduction of a screw into the screw gun extension, and the screw gun is compressed downwardly and operated to drive the screw through the plate positioned thereunder. The securing of the plate to the underlying structure causes the pickup arms to release the plate, whereupon they swing upwardly to pick up another plate to continue the process.

  • Patent number: 5295295
Abstract: By advancing a rotatable feed rod (5) with a threaded part (1) such as a bolt or a nut inserted into a socket hole (6) at a front end thereof, the threaded part (1) is supplied and tightened to an object such as a threaded hole or a bolt. In order to prevent the part (1) from dropping off or dislocating on its way of feeding the part (1) is advanced to the vicinity of the object with the part being restrained by, for example, a closure member (31), and then the part (1) is inserted into the socket hole (6) of the feed rod (5). Finally, the feed rod (5) is further advanced until the part (1) arrives at the object and is tightened thereto.

  • Patent number: 5291645
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for feeding and tightening threaded parts, such as bolts or nuts. The apparatus incorporates a holding member longitudinally movable while holding a threaded part at the front end thereof, and a rotary feed rod having an engaging head at the front end thereof adapted to engage the threaded part. A retractable detecting member is used to detect the presence of a threaded part in the holding member. The rotary feed rod is longitudinally movable wherein, first, the holding member holds the threaded part at or adjacent the end of a part feeding passage and is then longitudinally moved to a position where the threaded part is coaxial with the feed rod. The engaging head of the feed rod is then advanced, and substantially at the same time as the engaging head engages the threaded part the holding member is moved backward to allow the feed rod to be advanced. Thus, the threaded part is fed to a mating part, such as a threaded hole or a bolt, and tightened.

  • Patent number: 5042142
Abstract: A machine for fastening one or more layers of roofing material to an underlayment, and a stackable washer therefor. A chute receives a stack of such washers. A shuttle displaces a single washer to a separated position when moved in one direction, to which the shuttle is biased, and releases the single washer when moved in the opposite direction. A gate, which cooperates with camming surfaces defined upon the respective washers, restrains the overlying washer within the stack against being displaced along with the single washer and restrains the single washer from being displaced from the separated position. Various components are provided by linking a stand-up screw gun of a known type to the shuttle. The stackable washer is embossed so that each such washer and like overlying and underlying washers within a stack contact each other at three or more places, which define tangent planes intersecting planes defined by planar areas upon such washers at angles greater than 45.degree. but less than 90.degree.
