Vane Type Or Other Rotary, E.g., Fan Patents (Class 29/888.025)
  • Patent number: 6752608
Abstract: A compressor assembly having a drive shaft supported by a main bearing and an outboard bearing located on opposite axial ends of a cylinder block. The main bearing has a bearing support formed therein in which first and second apertures are defined. The diameter of the first aperture is less than the diameter of the second aperture. The shaft extends through the first and second apertures with the diameter of the drive shaft having an outer diameter which is no greater than the diameter of the first aperture. A sleeve is mounted on the drive shaft and is at least partially disposed within the second aperture. A bearing is located in the second aperture and engages the sleeve and the main bearing to rotationally support the drive shaft. The sleeve can have a thickness which allows the bearing to be of a standard size rather than a custom size.

Abstract: The present invention relates to optimizing the configuration of rotary impact collectors and devices in which such rotary impact collectors are employed. Rotary impact collectors are formed out of base plate upon which a plurality of vanes are mounted. One aspect of the present invention is a combined impact collector and fan in which the ratio of vane height to impeller diameter is in the range of about 0.01 to about 0.2. Preferably, the vanes are evenly spaced around the impeller so as to present a balanced load to the motor. Other performance enhancing elements include the use of truncated vanes, configurations optimized for injection molding fabrication, controlling the orientation of the vanes to reduce the formation of vortex forces, and enhancements configured to increase the ability to collected particles rinsed off such impellers.

  • Patent number: 6651328
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a sliding part for a hermetic compressor is disclosed. Since the abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance of the sliding part is increased, the energy consumption efficiency is improved and the performance of the compressor can be enhanced. In addition, since the manufacturing process is shortened, the production cost can be reduced and the manufacturing time can be reduced. Moreover, since the thickness change of the sliding part is minimized, the defective rate of the part size can be reduced and its quality can be improved.

  • Patent number: 6494302
Abstract: A vane damper, and a method for making the vane damper is disclosed. A casing including a space for at least one rotable vane divides the space into two parts. The spaces are variable because of the vane which rotates within the space. Further, a number of asymmetrical ducts connects the spaces separated by the vane with a gas accumulator space so that a medium within the spaces for damping motion of the vane can expand into the gas accumulator space against the force of a gas. The vane is produced by extruding aluminum or an aluminum containing alloy. The vane is sealed against the surfaces of the space as well as a bearing member supporting the vane.
