Abstract: A rail wheel with a wheel body and friction discs connected thereto on both sides by fastening elements, wherein a multi-layer coating is arranged at least between the respective contact surfaces of the friction discs and the contact surfaces of the wheel body with a coating which can be subjected to mechanically and thermally high loading. Also disclosed is a method for producing a rail wheel.

Abstract: Wear resistant metal ring thermally locked at a machined interface to a lightweight alloy roller coaster wheel body and method of machining and thermally locking.
Abstract: A method includes shrink fitting a ring member about a railroad wheel body and metallurically bonding the ring member to the railroad wheel body. A wheel assembly includes an inner portion obtained from a worn railroad wheel, a ring member disposed about the inner portion, and suitable electroplating material disposed on at least one of the faying surfaces. The wheel assembly may be heated under suitable conditions to provide diffusion bonding across interfacing faying surfaces to produce an integral wheel structure. Appropriate quenching, tempering, and finishing processes may be utilized to obtain desired properties. An article formed thereby includes an inner body portion obtained from a worn railroad wheel and a metallurically bonded outer circumferential portion. The outer portion may comprise a composition selected for desired wear characteristics.
Abstract: An electrical drive-in tool includes a driving ram (13) displaceable in a guide (12), and a motor-driven drive flywheel (32) for driving the driving ram (13) and having a first component forming at least a circumferentially arranged rim and formed of a metal selected from a group consisting of steel and alloyed iron, and a second component formed of a material having a density greater than a density of the metal the first component is formed of.
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for mounting a wheel on an axle housing in the form of an axle tube (1) for vehicles, in particular commercial vehicles, whereby the wheel is fixed e.g. with wheel bolts to a wheel hub, pivoting on the axle stub (2) of the axle tube (1) and the axle stub (2) is clamped on to an end section (3) of the axle tube (1) as a separate component. For simplicity of manufacture and assembly combined with functional durability it is proposed that the end section (3) of the axle tube (1) is cylindrical on the inside and has at least one longitudinal slit (4), that the axle stub (2) fits into the end section (3) of the axle tube (1) with an externally corresponding cylindrical connecting section (5) and that the end section (3) of the axle tube (1) is radially clamped on to the connecting section (5) of the axle stub (2) by means of at least one longitudinally continuously split clamping ring (6) positioned on the end section (3) of the axle tube (1).
