One-piece Roller Making Patents (Class 29/895.33)
  • Patent number: 9003664
Abstract: A shaft material integrally having a shaft portion and a flange portion is formed by a forging process. The end face of the shaft portion of the shaft material and the end face of the flange portion on the opposite side of the shaft portion are ground relative to the corrected face, and the outer circumferential surface of the shaft material is ground relative to the end faces. This renders the cylindricity of the radial bearing faces formed on the outer periphery of the shaft portion of the produced shaft member to be 3 ?m or lower. Moreover, a shaft material integrally having the shaft portion and flange portion is formed, while simultaneously thrust hydrodynamic groove regions are formed on both end faces of the flange portion. After the forging process, radial hydrodynamic groove regions are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the shaft portion.

  • Patent number: 8978737
Abstract: The present invention discloses a molding system, more particularly, a shrinking type molding system comprising an outer mold, an inner mold and a first pattern layer. An adjustable gap is formed between the outer mold and the inner mold to contain a work piece therein. Furthermore, the work piece with a pattern structure on the surface thereof can be formed by the first pattern layer. The difference between the present invention and the prior art is that the molding system of the present invention is capable of optionally or simultaneously forming the pattern structure on the inner surface or the outer surface of the work piece, so as to solve the long last problem that not all the surfaces of the work piece could have the pattern structure thereon in the prior art.

  • Patent number: 8296950
Abstract: Provided is a method of stabilizing an elastomeric property of an elastomeric material. The method includes placing the elastomeric material in a pressurizing chamber and applying a suitable hydrostatic pressure to the elastomeric material within the pressurizing chamber to at least partially compress the elastomeric material. Application of the hydrostatic pressure is maintained for a period of time suitable to at least partially stabilize a restorative force exhibited by the elastomeric material in response to subsequent exposures of the elastomeric material to a compressive force.

  • Patent number: 7571542
Abstract: A method of forming a roll for embossing aluminum sheet, and the associated roll, the method comprising subjecting a surface of a steel roll to at least the steps of, in order: blasting treatment, electrolytic treatment with 1,000 to 20,000 C/dm2 of electricity in which the steel roll is used as the anode, and chromium plating treatment. An aluminum sheet embossing roll produced by the method of the present invention has on the surface thereof peaks, or asperities, which are of uniform height and very numerous. As a result, aluminum sheets obtained using such a roll, when employed as lithographic printing plate supports, have excellent printing characteristics, particularly a long press life and a high sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 7181845
Abstract: An improved conveyor roller (100) having a belt-engagement length (103) between a first end (101) and second end (102), and a necked-down portion (109) adjacent the second end, and a method of manufacturing such a roller are disclosed. The method comprises forming a roller from a metal tube (12) with a longitudinal axis (106), first and second ends, and an initial outer diameter by: rotating the tube about the longitudinal axis, the tube being substantially free of internal and external supports between the ends thereof, providing rollers (40,41) which are rotatable about corresponding axes generally parallel to the longitudinal axis; and urging the rollers against the tube and moving the rollers between the ends of the tube so as to alter the outer diameter of the tube to form the belt-engagement length and the necked-down portion, the necked-down portion providing a mounting surface for receiving a bearing assembly.

Abstract: Peeling occurring in a short period of time is avoided in a roller member such as a roller cam follower of a cam apparatus in a valve system of a car engine. The roller member is produced by heating an already processed a roller member material in a carburizing atmosphere of carbon potential being 1.2% or more at 840 to 870° C. for 3 hours or longer, thereby to carry out a carburization treatment, followed by quenching, said roller member material being formed in a predetermined shape from a bearing steel. Thereby, all amount of carbon are rendered to be 1.0 to 1.6 wt % in a surface portion of a range from a surface of a rolling face until a depth where a maximum shearing stress acts on, an amount of solute carbon is is rendered to be 0-6 to 1.0 wt % in a matrix of said surface portion, and said surface portion is precipitated with carbides of 5 to 20% in an area rate and of particle size being 3&mgr; or less.

  • Patent number: 6729170
Abstract: A fuser roller is obtained by heating a blank over predetermined regions starting from both the opening ends, and then necking the heated regions of the blank by moving a forming roller with rotation on the heated regions through the external pressing of the forming roller against the heated regions of the blank being rotated on its axis to draw form sidewalls integrally at both ends of a cylindrical body of the blank, respectively, and draw form cylindrical shafts integrally with the sidewalls, respectively. In this manner, the fuser roller can be fabricated using a single processing machine with respect to a single pipe member, which reduces equipment cost, further enhances production efficiency and implements low-cost production of fuser rollers.
