Flexible Patents (Class 292/133)
  • Patent number: 7506902
Abstract: An auto-lock mechanism to be mounted on an image input/output device includes a first swingable element and a second swingable element. When the image input/output device is not slantwise and an upper cover of the device is opened, one of the first and second swingable elements swings but does not hook the other of the first and second elements. When the image input/output device is slantwise, both of the first and second swingable elements simultaneously swing, approach and hook each other such that the upper cover remains closed and is free from detachment to hurt a user.

  • Patent number: 7011347
Abstract: A latch for a section door wherein near the hinges located between the door elements there are provided, at each end of the elements, small rolling wheels which turn on horizontal pivots and slide within side guide bars having a vertical branch, an upper horizontal branch, and a curved connection branch located between the vertical and horizontal branches; the latch is located sideways and is intended for engaging, in its active position, in an opening provided in one of the side guide bars. The side latch is located coaxially with one of the small wheels intended to slide within the side guide bars of the section door. Preferably, the small wheel coaxial to the latch is mounted on a hollow pivot, and the latch is guided to slide within the bore of this hollow pivot.

  • Patent number: 6547292
Abstract: A door closing mechanism for pulling a door tight to a frame to which the door is mounted comprises a latch arm assembly having a latch arm pivotally secured to a panel of the door and pivotable between a first, open position and a second, latched position. An activating mechanism is operably connected to the latch arm assembly by a connecting apparatus and actuates the latch arm between its first and second positions. A latch member is secured to the jamb in which the door is mounted and is arranged and constructed so that when the latch arm is moved into its second, closed position, the latch arm engages the latch member and exerts force upon the latch member in a direction substantially normal to the plane of the door so as to cause the door to contact the door frame over substantially its entire height.

  • Patent number: 6439358
Abstract: A support assembly includes a deformation element for use in a motor vehicle for absorbing kinetic energy in case of an impact. The deformation element can be deformed to a residual block length. The deformation element is connected to a supporting structure and includes a honeycomb matrix body. The honeycomb matrix body of the deformation element is self-supporting and has at least one radial deformation limiter whose axial stiffness is lower than that of the matrix body. This allows using the deformation element without a supporting jacket, so that the properties of the deformation element can be determined independently of those of a jacket.

  • Patent number: 3994240
Abstract: A lightweight removable cover for railroad coil cars and the like, having a cover shell made of fiberglass reinforced plastic, with external reinforcing ribs having stacking brackets integrally formed therewith, thus permitting stacking of the covers when they are not in use on a car. A reinforcing box member around the bottom of the cover and extending outwardly from the shell cooperates with the external reinforcing ribs to protect from damage the handrails and other hardware attached to the outside of the shell. In a preferred embodiment, latches are provided for securing the cover to the car, and a centrally positioned lifting cage is connected to automatically release the latches when engaged by a lifting hook.
