Rigid Patents (Class 292/136)
  • Patent number: 11713086
Abstract: A latch mechanism for releasably securing a hinged gate to one or more latches. The latch mechanism includes a handle that is pivotally connected to a gate wall. The handle includes at least one retention arm that lockingly engages a latch when the hinged gate is in a latched position. According to certain embodiments, the handle includes a retention arm at both ends of the handle, with the handle extending generally along the length of the gate wall. Further, the handle may be pivotally displaced about the retention arm(s) so that the handle is displaced from the first position to a second position. As the handle is pivotally displaced to the second position, a release mechanism of the handle may engage and pivotally displace the adjacent latch so that the retention arm may be released from the locking engagement with the latch.

  • Patent number: 10669746
Abstract: A multi-function latch and latch bolt includes a pair of mechanical fastener to be installed on a gate for the purpose of holding the gate in closed position, and that a person standing on the inside of the fence can disengage the latch hook bracket from the latch bolt, or disengage the latch bolt from the latch hook bracket in any of which method to unlatch and open the gate from inside the fence even when the outside of the latch is locked. On the other hand, when the latch is not locked on the inside but locked on the outside with an incorporated lock, keyed or combination padlock; then a person standing on the outside of the gate may open the gate if he/she has an appropriate key or knows the combination codes in order to unlock, unlatch and open the gate from outside the fence.

  • Patent number: 9689135
Abstract: Coverings for structures which can be installed in the ground are known. In order to lock the covering on the structure, closures are known which comprise a snap bolt which is designed in such a way and is mounted movably on the covering (20) against the force of a spring device in such a way that, during closing of the covering (20), the snap bolt is forced back and snaps in behind a counterbearing (14, 14?) fixed to the structure in a closure position. To simplify the arrangement and also to improve durability, it is proposed that the snap bolt is mounted in a housing (40) which can be fastened in a housing receptacle of the covering (20).

  • Patent number: 7506902
Abstract: An auto-lock mechanism to be mounted on an image input/output device includes a first swingable element and a second swingable element. When the image input/output device is not slantwise and an upper cover of the device is opened, one of the first and second swingable elements swings but does not hook the other of the first and second elements. When the image input/output device is slantwise, both of the first and second swingable elements simultaneously swing, approach and hook each other such that the upper cover remains closed and is free from detachment to hurt a user.

  • Patent number: 5626375
Abstract: A non-residential door latch comprised of a serpentine rigid bar. Mounting plates for locating the bar through a typical gate such that a downwardly curving portion of the bar is exposed on one side of the gate to form a handle while an inwardly curving portion of the bar is exposed on the opposite side of the gate to form a striker. Horizontal movement of the handle creates a corresponding vertical movement of the striker. An "L" shaped support bracket incorporates an elongated slot which fits over the end of the striker and limits the vertical movement of the striker. A latch bracket mounted to the gate post incorporates an elongate slot, open at one end into which the striker falls and is captured.

  • Patent number: 4647088
Abstract: Anti-pilferage device for box car doors of both the sliding and plug type in which the device is toward the top of the door out of reach of a person standing on the ground and only accessible to release the latch from the top, by a person standing on a loading dock. The latch cooperates with a keeper and both the keeper and latch are enclosed so access cannot be had to the latch to release the latch by a pole or elongated tool and the like.A pivoted release member is provided for the latch which extends above the latch plates forming a housing for the latch toward the rear ends of said latch plates and is transversely pivoted thereto and is inwardly of the sides of said latch plates to prevent access to said release member by a pole or other tool. The release member has camming engagement with the latch and is operable by hand to cam the latch out of engagement with the keeper and accommodate opening of the door.

  • Patent number: 4613174
Abstract: A reversible latching hinge for the roof of a container such as a railway car which is adapted to be inverted to a discharging position. The latching hinge allows the roof to pivot away automatically from the opening of the container during inversion. The reversible latching hinge is designed so as to minimize or eliminate undesirable impact loading that may arise from lateral displacement of the roof during inversion. The construction includes flanges extending laterally outward from the roof and terminating in ears which extend toward latch bars mounted to the container. Contact between the ears and the latch bars forms a pivot point for the roof. The construction also includes freely pivoting hooks which, on the upper side of the roof engage the latch bars to prevent the roof from falling off of the container. The hooks on the lower side disengage from the latch bars by gravity to permit the roof to swing outwardly during inversion.
