  • Patent number: 6343494
Abstract: The locking device (10) for doors, in particular of vehicles, has an inside door opener and an outside door handle (12) which can be used to actuate at least one lock for locking the door. Locking devices of this type are conventionally very complicated mechanically, since the mechanical connection between the outside door handle (12) and the lock is meant to be uncoupled as a function of various functional positions. In order to reduce the mechanical complexity, only the inside door opener should act mechanically on the lock, and the outside door handle (12) should act via an electric control on an actuating drive (18), which actuates the lock. In this case, the opening command is instigated only if at least one defined allowable precondition is present. The required additional functions of locking devices can very easily be controlled by the electric control, so that additional mechanical elements are not required.

An electric motor with a worm gear is meshed with a gear mechanism to control the movement of a locking tongue member. A gear member is caused to move between two angular positions. The gear member includes a perpendicularly mounted off-center pin. A pivotally mounted elongated arm is pushed by the offset pin to cause the retraction of a spring loaded tongue member. A receiver is also housed within the closure element to activate the motor. A remote transmitter sends a signal to activate the receiver that in turn creates an output for a predetermined amount of time when the code transmitted matches the code stored.

  • Patent number: 6098433
Abstract: A lock for safes and other security devices is disclosed having a case mountable on the inside of a safe door. A locking bolt in a slidable relationship within an opening in the case, moves between locked and unlocked positions. A gate, constrained in slidable relationship by and with the locking bolt, normally prevents the locking bolt from moving out of the locked position. An internal case extension obstructs the gate, when the lock is not activated, preventing the locking bolt from moving towards the unlocked position. A camming member, pivotally attached to the locking bolt, repositions the gate allowing the locking bolt to move out of the locked position. A solenoid driven armature, linked to the camming member and connected to the locking bolt, pivots the camming member and moves the locking bolt to the unlocked position. The locking bolt is held in the locked position when not activated by a spring.

  • Patent number: 6082153
Abstract: An anti-tamper locking assembly for locking a position of a block, such as a locking bolt in an electronic lock, electrically moves a pin to engage or dis-engage the block. When dis-engaged, the block can be moved and access or the like can be made. The pin is selectively moved electronically in order to allow access, entry or the like. The pin can be moved with, e.g., a solenoid. The pin has an overhanging portion, or a head portion. In order to prevent an individual from forcing the pin into an un-locked position, the head portion operates in conjunction with at least one spring-arm member and a blocker which are fixed to the block to prevent a user from being able to strike the device with a hammer or the like to "temporarily" move the pin to a position allowing the block to be moved and access or the like to be made.

  • Patent number: 6076384
Abstract: A closure for a switchgear cabinet door, machine case or the like, having a safety device. A lock is attached to the switchgear cabinet door, machine case or the like with a first locking element, and a second locking element is attached to the door frame, machine case frame or the like. Both locking elements can be brought into and out of functional connection with each other under the control of an electric signal. Additional locking of the closure can be simply achieved with commercially available locks because the lock has a turnbuckle, which can be rotated by 90.degree., as the first locking element, and an electromagnet is attached to the door frame or the machine case frame, whereby a locking member as the second locking element can be displaced into and out of the pivot range of the turnbuckle.

  • Patent number: 6076385
Abstract: An electrically operated, strong, security system comprising a lock with remote control installed in a wall adjacent to a door frame. The lock comprises rods which extend into the door when the door is closed and in a locked state. In an unlocked state an actuator retracts the rods from the door, back into the door frame. The security lock system provides a manual control for the lock inside a house or building along with indicator lights showing the lock status. An emergency DC battery provides power for the security lock if there is a primary power outage. A remote control locks all doors in the house simultaneous that have such a security lock, and the remote control unlocks only the door or doors selected to be unlocked.

Abstract: An electric strike has a pivoting locking member for locking an electric strike in the closed position. The locking member is pivoted between the locked and unlocked positions by a low current motor. A drive pin pivotally engages the locking member. The motor rotates a roll pin threadably engaging the coil faces of a spring mounted to the drive pin. Rotation of the motor compresses or expands the spring to axially move the drive pin and thereby pivot the locking member between the locked and unlocked positions.

  • Patent number: 6050116
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for securing trailer doors against tampering. In one exemplary embodiment, a locking device is mounted on the inside of a trailer door. The device includes a locking bolt which is selectively operated by a pneumatic valve in response to a signal selectively generated by an operator. In the example, the locking device is normally in a locked position and the locking bolt is effective to secure the trailer doors to the frame of the trailer. An operator selectively causes the generation of an "unlock" signal through the use of a wireless control device. The unlock signal, in turn, operates upon an electro-pneumatic valve device to effect an application of locally available high air pressure to a locking bolt actuator assembly. The air pressure is sufficiently high to effect the movement of a relatively heavy locking bolt out of a locking position, at which time the trailer doors may be opened for access to the trailer load.
