  • Patent number: 11359413
Abstract: A dual action latch, having a latch handle, an elongate bolt, a cam, a latch housing, and a biasing device, for installation on one side of door. The latch handle includes a lifting portion and a lever arm. The latch housing has a lever arm aperture through which the lever arm of the latch handle passes and a bolt guide for slidably receiving the elongate bolt. The latch handle is movably attached to the latch housing. With the latch handle moved, the lever arm withdraws the elongate bolt into the latch housing. Independently, when the cam is rotated by a separate handle on the other side the door, the cam plate likewise withdraws the elongate bolt into the latch housing.

  • Patent number: 11242702
Abstract: A push-pull passage door lock comprising at least one handle, at least one lever, at least one rotating block, a slipping block, a latch bolt and a reset device for resetting the latch bolt. The lever, rotating block and slipping block are located inside the housing. The lever and rotating block are hinged to the housing. The rotating block comprises a rotation portion and a touch portion located at the two sides of an articulated shaft of the rotating block. One end of the lever is connected to the handle and the other end is adjacent the rotation portion. One end of the slipping block is connected to the latch bolt and the other end is adjacent the touch portion. The lever rotates the rotation portion of the rotating block, whereby the touch portion of the rotating block pushes up the slipping block and thereby retracts the latch bolt.

  • Patent number: 11124993
Abstract: A lock with an emergency unlocking feature includes a latch bolt, a top rotation member, a restriction plate and a driving member. The driving member is connected to the deadbolt. When the top rotation member is rotated from a close position to an open position while the lock is locked, a restriction member drives the restriction plate to press a resilient unit. The restriction plate is moved to disengage the engaging member on the restriction plate from the second notch of the driving member. The guide slot of the transmission plate pulls the second guide member to move the deadbolt to the unlocked position, and the latch bolt moves to the open position. When in an emergency situation, the user rotates the handle to retract both of the deadbolt and the latch bolt without using a key to unlock the deadbolt to save time.

  • Patent number: 10947756
Abstract: An electromechanical lock which is configured to provide a mechanical latch holdback feature, whereby a key is useable to retract a latch of the lock, the key can be removed, and the latch remains mechanically held back. The held back latch is remotely releasable. As such, a correctional officer can use his key to mechanically hold back the latch, such that the lock remains open. Subsequently, a control signal can be sent from a remote location causing the latch to be released and extended, such that the lock locks. This ability to remotely override the mechanical latch holdback is useful in a correctional facility—for example, when the mechanical latch holdback has been engaged for cell doors and an emergency situation arises where a quick remote lockdown may be necessary, instead of having to perform the time-consuming task of re-locking the doors one-by-one, locally by key.

  • Patent number: 7703815
Abstract: A quick cam latch mechanism having an operatively coupled bolt and cam assembly disposed in a latch housing. A handle is coupled to the cam assembly for moving the bolt between an extended or engaged position and a retracted or disengaged position. The cam assembly includes a primary cam operatively coupled to a secondary cam or linkage that is in turn operatively coupled to the bolt. Rotation of the primary cam translates into increased pivoting of the linkage and thereby increased retraction of the bolt. As a result, less rotation of primary cam is needed to retract the bolt. In an example embodiment of the invention, at least two linkages are utilized to quickly retract the bolt regardless of the direction of rotation of the handle.

  • Patent number: 7695028
Abstract: A lock apparatus includes a operation handle, a pair of springs movably supported by the container member, a pair of slide pins urged in directions of lock holes defined on the support member by the springs, respectively, and a pair of cam members to which rear end portions of the slide pins are fitted, respectively, to urge each slide pin to project and retract. When the operation handle is operated in a swing manner, a front end portion of each slide pin is retracted from each lock hole of the support member against pressure of each spring. Engagement holes are defined on opposed surfaces of each front end portion of the cam member having a cylindrical shape. Each rear end portion of the slide pin is formed in a bifurcated structure to have elastic pieces. Each of elastic pieces has a protrusion for detachably engaging with each of engagement holes.

Abstract: A lost motion cam assembly for a vehicle lock. The assembly includes a lever, pivotally mounted to the housing and movable between locked and unlocked positions. A motor drives a gear mounted to a shaft in the housing. A cam is also rotatably mounted to the shaft, and includes a pair of opposing cam arms. When a cam arm engages a first interaction surface on the lever, the lever actuates. A second interaction surface on the lever stops the cam. The cam is operably connected to the gear by a lost motion connection that defines a range of free travel of the cam relative to the gear. Manually pivoting the lever while one of the pair of cam arms is in contact with the first interaction surface on the lever causes the cam to rotate within the range of free travel.
