Patent number: 11220837Abstract: A lock device that prevents operation of at least one chassis spindle from retracting a latch bolt, and which may provide auto-unlock features. Locking of the lock device can effectuate linear displacement of a slider body from an unlocked position to a locked position. Linear displacement of the slider body is translated into rotational displacement of a cam body that includes, or is coupled to, a locking shaft having a cam protrusion, thereby rotating the cam protrusion. As the cam protrusion rotates, the cam protrusion lifts a locking lug to a locked position wherein the locking lug prevents rotational displacement of a first chassis spindle. When in the locked position, a slider arm of the slider body can be positioned in a retention slot. Subsequent rotable displacement of a second chassis spindle can effectuate displacement of the slider arm from the retention slot and facilitate unlocking of the lock device.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2019Date of Patent: January 11, 2022Assignee: Schlage Lock Company LLCInventors: Nathanael S. Patent number: 9790710Abstract: The pushbutton combination lock has a lock bolt mechanism with a lock bolt movably mounted on a frame between a locking position and an unlocking position. The lock bolt mechanism further has two lock bolt actuating mechanisms arranged to move the lock bolt between the locking position and the unlocking position. The lock has a pushbutton combination locking mechanism for locking the first lock bolt actuating mechanism to prevent the lock bolt from being moved by the first lock bolt actuating mechanism to the unlocking position while the second lock bolt actuating mechanism is independent from the pushbutton combination locking mechanism. The pushbutton combination locking mechanism is further rotatably or slidably mounted to the frame such that the user can choose the side for locking and the side for free operation.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2014Date of Patent: October 17, 2017Inventor: Joseph Talpe

Patent number: 8079238Abstract: A lock device includes an actuating lever pivotally engaged in a lock housing for actuating a deadbolt of a latch device, two rotary mechanisms pivotally engaged in the housing and each having a rotary member pivotally engaged in a casing for coupling to an outdoor handle and an indoor handle, and the rotary member of one of the rotary mechanisms is secured to the casing for allowing the rotary member and the casing of the rotary mechanism to be rotated relative to the lock housing with the indoor handle only, and for preventing the outdoor handle from being brutally rotated by the unauthorized persons and for preventing the lock device from being destroyed or damaged by the unauthorized persons.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2010Date of Patent: December 20, 2011Assignee: Thase Enterprise Co., Ltd.Inventor: Ching Tien Lin

Patent number: 7178373Abstract: A mortise lock includes a chassis, a handle assembly mounted to a side of the chassis, a sleeve, and a trim for returning the handle assembly. The handle assembly includes a spindle and a handle. An end of the sleeve is securely mounted around an end of the spindle to turn therewith. The other end of the sleeve receives the other end of the spindle and is securely connected to the handle. The trim includes a spring seat, a ring received in the spring seat and mounted around the sleeve, and a spring mounted on a side of the ring. The spring seat includes a plate mounted around the sleeve. A protrusion is formed on an inner periphery of the body and engaged in a longitudinal groove in the sleeve. Two ends of the spring respectively abut against two sides of a leg extending from the ring.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2006Date of Patent: February 20, 2007Assignee: I-Tek Metal Mfg. Patent number: 7082794Abstract: A mortise lock includes a chassis mounted in a mounting hole of a door and an outside handle assembly mounted to a side of the chassis. The outside handle assembly includes an outside spindle having a first end partially received in the chassis and operably connected to at least one bolt of the chassis such that rotation of the outside spindle causes retraction of the bolt. The first end of the outside spindle includes a perimeter groove, forming a fragile portion. An outside handle includes an end securely connected to a second end of the outside spindle to turn therewith. The fragile portion of the outside spindle is broken when an excessive force is applied to the outside handle. Thus, unauthorized opening of the door by forcibly turning the outside handle is prevented. Further, the mortise lock can be easily installed, and the cost of the mortise lock is cut.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2004Date of Patent: August 1, 2006Assignee: I-Tek Metal Mfg. Patent number: 6993946Abstract: A lock includes an inside handle, an outside handle, and a body between the handles. A spindle is mounted to each handle to turn therewith. Two pivotable wheels are mounted in the case and operably connected to the inside and outside spindles and a latch bolt such that turning of either handle causes retraction of the latch bolt. One of the wheels engaging with the outside spindle includes a notch communicated with a through-hole of the wheel. A lever extends through the notch of the wheel and includes an end in the through-hole of the notched wheel. When a locking plug is moved to a blocking position, the end of the lever sways to move the outside spindle out of the through-hole of the notched wheel such that the outside handle turns idly when the outside handle is turned.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2004Date of Patent: February 7, 2006Assignee: I-Tek Metal Mfg.
