  • Publication number: 20080136197
Abstract: A magnet latch applying magnetic force for opening and closing the upper and lower cases is provided. The magnet latch includes a push button, a sliding block, a magnet, a magnetic hook, and an elastic member. To close the upper and lower cases, one moves the push button to slide the sliding block to one side. The magnetic hook is attracted by the magnet to move upwards. Once the magnetic hook attaches to the magnet, the push button is released and the sliding block moves toward and holds the magnetic hook, so as to achieve the purpose of magnetic latching. On the other hand, to open the upper case, one moves the push button to slide the sliding block to the other side, thereby opening up the upper case. Due to the weakened magnetic force and its own gravity, the magnetic hook returns back into the lower case.

Abstract: An LC oscillation-based magnetic lock is described, which mainly includes an electromagnet set having an E-type iron core and a magnetic field generating coil set, and an armature plate. The electromagnet set and the armature plate are installed on a door panel and a door jamb, respectively. By means of the attractive or repelling force between the aforementioned each other, and by controlling the magnetism of the electromagnet set, the door panel is caused to be opened or closed. The LC oscillation-based circuit being a coil set disposed nearby the magnetic field generating coil set and oscillating in an oscillation frequency when an inductance variation has occurred, the oscillation frequency is then corresponded to the inductance variation; and a control circuit is to determine an open/close state of the door panel according to the oscillation frequency calculated.

Abstract: This patent refers to an electronic equipment unit, which is intended to collects, process and transfer data from a certain area, which it monitors, to a telemetry system. In more detail, data are collected from various intrusion monitoring sensors (e.g. infra-red or microwave detectors), water level detectors, smoke detectors, electrical supply watchdogs etc. These sensor are external and use the logic circuits of the printed circuit board. The above mentioned data are suitably processed by the unit and the output is sent to a telemetry system via an external interface box. The advantages of this patent is the small size of the device and the low cost of the construction and operation of the device. It integrates on one printed circuit board (PCB) the processor and the logic circuits of a variety of sensors. Owing to its small size, the device can be easily installed inside sealed cellular telephony antenna shelters (outdoor shelters).

Abstract: An indicating lock for a rimless glass door is composed of a seat assembly, a driving member, a latching member, an indicating ring, and a clamping member. The seat assembly has an interior seat and an exterior seat. The driving member has an interior disk and an exterior disk. Multiple magnetic elements are installed in the interior disk and the exterior disk with opposite polarities. By using the magnetic force, the indicating lock can be securely and easily installed on a rimless glass door without cutting the glass of the door. An indicating ring is provided between the exterior disk and the exterior seat. Those outside the door can conveniently know whether the door is locked by observing the indicating ring.

Abstract: The invention concerns an electromagnetic lock comprising two parts, one of which comprises an electromagnet and the other a mobile armature capable of moving to counter the return springs when the electromagnet is energized. One of the parts has at least one protuberance extending from one edge of the corresponding part to the proximity of the other edge, the protuberance sized and positioned to be capable of penetrating into a housing of the other part when the parts coincide and the electromagnet is energized, the height of the protuberance being less than the distance normally separating the two parts when the electromagnet is not energized. This abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 6866312
Abstract: A lock for earthquakes that securely holds a door closed when an earthquake strikes, but it otherwise out of the way during normal use. It consists of a steel ball that is positioned at the top of an angled ramp. A magnet is embedded on the inside surface of the door, where it is invisible under normal use. When an earthquake strikes, the steel ball drops and contacts the magnet. At this point, the door is effectively locked. The system is designed so that the magnet is strong enough to securely hold the door closed, but can be easily overcome to open the door after the event is over. Once the event is over, the system can be reset by pulling the door open with enough force to overcome the magnet and placing the ball back up into its ready position. When closed, the cabinets appear to be perfectly normal.

Abstract: The invention provides for an electromagnetic lock (10) for a door. The lock (10) includes a backing plate (12) which is connectable to a door frame, an electromagnet (14), a housing (30) for the electromagnet, and an armature plate (16) connectable to a door (32) which is displaceable relative to the housing (30) between a closed condition in which it engages the housing and an open condition in which it is spaced from the housing. The lock (10) also includes two locking arms (18) which are movable between an operative position in which they engage the armature plate (16) and the backing plate (12) to capture the armature plate in the closed condition and an inoperative position in which they allow the armature plate to disengage the housing (30).

Abstract: A doorknob cover comprise a hollow cylindrical body and an element which is capable of attracting magnetically or being attracted magnetically. The cylindrical body is provided in one side with an elastic opening, and in other side with the element. The doorknob cover is fitted over the doorknob via the elastic opening. As the door is swiveled toward a wall, the doorknob is arrested by a magnetic seat of the wall due to the magnetic attraction between the element of the doorknob and the magnetic seat of the wall.

Abstract: A magnetic locking device is described. The magnetic locking device is utilized for locking an electric device upper cover especially for locking both sides of the display cover of a notebook/tablet dual-purpose personal computer. The magnetic locking device has a lock module and a hook module. The lock module installed in the upper cover has a lock module base, a release button, a magnet, a first bezel and a second bezel. The hook module installed in the electric device base has a hook module base, a spring device, and a hook. The spring device pulls the hook to hide in the electric device base when the hook is not working to improve the electric device appearance and to eliminate interference during operation.

Abstract: A push bar locking mechanism for locking and unlocking a door also comprising a push bar arranged integral to a bar frame such that the push bar can be moved relative to the bar frame. An elongated link is integral to the push bar and bar frame and is movable in response to the push bar movement relative to the bar frame. The movement of the elongated link causes a door locking mechanism to move between a locked and unlocked position. An electromagnetic locking mechanism is included that can be changed between an energized and de-energized state by an electrical signal, wherein the electrical locking mechanism generates a magnetic field when energized. An armature is also included in proximity to the electromagnetic locking mechanism and the elongated link. The armature prevents movement of the elongated link when the electromagnetic locking mechanism is energized.
