  • Patent number: 11773620
Abstract: An auxiliary lock includes an inside housing mounted to a lock cylinder and a first flange extends axially from one of two ends of the inside housing. A mounting plate is mounted to the lock cylinder and contacts the inside housing. The mounting plate includes a second flange which is mounted to outside of the first flange of the inside housing. The lock cylinder is protected and reinforced in the radial direction by the overlapped first and second flanges. When the inside housing is hit, the inside housing does not expand outward to be pried up. The reinforcement structure is made by way of pressing to use less material and to reduce the manufacturing cost.

  • Patent number: 9447610
Abstract: A lockset is actuable by pivoting a handle about a longitudinal axis of the lockset by rotating the handle and by pivoting the handle about an axis transverse to the lockset axis, such as by pushing or pulling. The lockset includes an inside handle and an outside handle, each associated with an independent mechanism, each of which can independently actuate the lockset. A locking mechanism prevents actuation of a first one of the independent handle mechanisms without affecting operation of the other handle mechanism. Upon actuation of the other handle mechanism, a retractor engages a surface of the locking mechanism and removes it from engagement with the first locking mechanism. An adjustment ring has a first configuration that centers the lockset in a door having a first standard thickness and a second configuration that centers the lockset in a door having a second standard thickness.

  • Patent number: 6471262
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for locking a part (3; 21; 31) that is to be secured, arranged so that it can move on a motor vehicle, a securing part (11; 26; 36) engaging in a slot-shaped cavity (7; 28; 38) of the part (3; 21; 31) that is to be secured under the effect of the acceleration forces that occur when the corresponding vehicle coincides with an obstacle. To allow the device to be fitted simply and in a non-bulky way and to reliably prevent unintentional opening of the door of the vehicle when acceleration forces from different directions are applied on the part that is to be secured, the invention proposes that the securing part (11; 26; 36) be controlled by a control element (10; 22; 32) of spherical shape, the control element (10; 22; 32) resting on a guide (8; 23; 33) via domed or conical control surfaces (9).

  • Patent number: 5927776
Abstract: A door handle extension apparatus which improves existing door handle/locksets specifically extending the handle portion of a door handle/lockset thus allowing unincumbered use of the handle portion of the lockset. In one embodiment, the invention utilizes an extender which moves the handle portion away from the door. A shaft located within the extender transfers the force applied to the handle portion to the latch locksets located within the door portion. In another embodiment, a conventional handle portion of a lockset has been modified to include an elongated neck which spaces the handle away from the door to accommodate mini-blinds and the like.

  • Patent number: 4597600
Abstract: In door hardware, the handle 1 on the inside of the door and the handle 2 on the outside of the door are interconnected via respective halves 21 and 22 of a handle pin. The door handles can be secured by means of set or clamping screws 25,26 with the handle halves. Moreover there are two escutcheon plates 6 and 7 which, following the mounting of the hardware to a door panel, are clamped against the door panel. The setscrew 26 for the handle 4 on the outside of the door is arranged in the region behind the outside of the escutcheon plate 7 on the outside of the door, namely preferably in such a way that it is invisible and inaccessible from the outside. The cooperation of the setscrew 26 and the handle pin half 22 permits preferably a finely stepped axial adjustment of the handle pin half with respect to the handle 2 on the outside of the door. The door handle is secure against dismantling from the outside and remains operable in the event of fire.
