A flow of an electric current in the shape-memory wire causes a shrinking thereof and a consequent rotation of the obturator towards the opened position, and an interruption of such current allows the shape-memory wire to re-expand and the obturator (12) to return towards its closed position.

    Abstract: An integrated tilt/sash lock assembly for a sash window is disclosed. The sash window assembly has an upper sash window and a lower sash window slideable within a master frame, the integrated assembly has a keeper adapted to be connected to the upper sash window. A rotor assembly is adapted to be supported by the lower sash window, the rotor assembly having a rotor connected to a spool. A latch bolt is adapted to be supported by the lower sash window and is adapted to engage the master frame. A connector has a first end connected to the spool and a second end connected to the latch bolt. An actuator is connected to the rotor assembly. The actuator has a locked position wherein the rotor engages the keeper. The actuator is moveable to an unlocked position wherein the rotor assembly is disengaged from the keeper, and is further moveable to a tiltable position wherein the connector retracts the latch bolt from the master frame.

The side latch is located coaxially with one of the small wheels intended to slide within the side guide bars of the section door. Preferably, the small wheel coaxial to the latch is mounted on a hollow pivot, and the latch is guided to slide within the bore of this hollow pivot.

    Abstract: This fenestration locking system for a swinging sash or door is characterized by the use of a linear member running continuously from an actuating assembly to a locking pin assembly. The linear member can be a flexible linear member, allowing it to convey motion to the locking pin assembly around corners. The locking pin assembly has a moveable locking pin with an actuator and an extension that can engage a keeper. The linear member has multiple actuator engagement sites along its length where the actuator of the locking pin can engage the linear member. The linear member can then be used to move the locking pin with respect to the locking pin assembly so that the extension can engage or disengage a keeper. The locking pin assembly can be mounted on a fenestration frame and the keeper opposingly mounted on a window or door mounted in the fenestration frame.

The integrated assembly comprises a handle movable among a first, a second and a third position to adjust the assembly among a respective locked, unlocked and tiltable position. The integrated assembly further has a pawl operably associated with the handle and abuttingly engages the rotor. The assembly also has a keeper adapted to receives at least a portion of the locking cam and a latch bolt adapted to be slidably disposed in a sash window. A connector is also provided which has a first end and an opposed second end. The first end of the connector is coupled to the latch bolt and the second end of the connector operably engages the appending member of the pawl. The assembly also has a spring for biasing the latch bolt towards one of the guide rails.

The latch housing is designed to fit the latch hook and to automatically align the latch hook as it is rotated into the latch housing. The latch housing may also be part of the cooler lid handle used for gripping the cooler lid when opening or closing the lid.

The latch operator assembly is lockable to prevent the cover from being opened and/or removed.

    Abstract: A lock system for casegoods, such as desks, cabinets, storage units, wardrobes and the like, includes an elongated, flexible tape or lock member having a plurality of spaced lock studs positioned thereon. A lock actuator moves the tape between unlocked and locked positions. Catches are mounted on the drawers, doors and the like of the article. When the flexible tape is moved to the locked position, the lock studs block or prevent opening movement of the drawers or doors due to contact with the catches. The flexible tape is routed through channels or other mounting structure formed in panels and tops of the article of furniture. An interlock mechanism, which may be integrated with the lock member, includes a lock lever, a cable attached to the lock lever and a plurality of interlock cams. Control members on the drawers rotate the cams to take up the cable causing the interlock lever to pivot and engage the lock member, thereby moving the lock member to a locked position.

    Abstract: A fluid flow connector with a structure for preventing over-torquing of the coupler and the nipple during engagement and furthermore, preventing inadvertent disengagement of the coupler from the nipple which might otherwise occur upon oppositely directed rotation of an outer shell of the coupler. The nipple is provided with a shoulder which, upon full engagement between the coupler and the nipple to a desired level of torque between the threads thereof, abuts the end of the outer shell. Subsequent further rotation of the shell causes relative travel between the outer shell and the coupler threads until the dowel disengages the first set of teeth whereby any further rotation of the outer shell will not impart a rotational force or torque to the coupler threads.
