  • Patent number: 11719028
Abstract: A door locking device has a body with an overhanging ledge to mate with a bottom edge of a door. The body has a sliding member that is captured to the body and an eccentric cam with a faceted perimeter surface that rotates about an eccentric axis. When the eccentric cam rotates, the sliding member is moved from a retracted position toward an extended position. The sliding member has a foot portion that contacts a portion of the floor to lock the door by applying pressure between the floor and the bottom edge of the door. An arm is affixed to the eccentric cam and has a folding handle.

  • Patent number: 11187010
Abstract: A forced-entry resistant sash lock includes a housing, a shaft pivotally mounted to the housing, a cam mounted on the shaft using an elongated opening permitting selective rotational and translational movements, and a separation member secured to the shaft. In the unlocked position, upon shaft rotation in a first direction a cam surface on the separation member engages a follower surface on the cam causing co-rotation of the cam into a non-forced entry-resistant locked position, and upon continued rotation the cam surface moves relative to the follower surface causing cam translation into a forced-entry-resistant locked position through movement of the shaft within the elongated opening, until an engagement surface of the separation member engages a contact surface of the cam, preventing forced reverse cam translation. The cam translation causes a cam stop surface to engage a housing stop surface preventing forced cam counter-rotation.

  • Publication number: 20110316397
Abstract: A locking system or a storage unit with the locking system, includes a locking core and a connected cammed lever. A user can rotate the core and lever about an axis when a latch is disengaged from a detent. When the latch is engaged with the detent, the core and the cammed lever are prevented from rotating about the axis. When the locking assembly is installed within the storage unit, the latch may be configured to strike a guide associated with a locking bar assembly, so that when the latch is moved to an unlatched position, the locking core and the lever are free to rotate, operating the locking bar between locked and unlocked positions. When the latch is withdrawn away from the guide, the latch engages with the detent to prevent movement of the lever and locking core relative to the locking assembly, to retain the lever and locking core in a desired, predetermined orientation.

  • Publication number: 20110006548
Abstract: A mechanism for locking a door of an electric household appliance is improved in that a slider jaw is hinged to a body of a slider in such manner that, by its tooth, it snaps or releases a head of a latch and that the slider jaw is provided with an opening finger, and a mechanism housing is provided with a hindering element, which thrusts the opening finger of the slider jaw, when the slider moves in direction of the force of the spring, so that the slider jaw gets open. The slider body and the slider jaw are preferably made of different materials: the slider body of a polyoxymethylene copolymer and the slider jaw of a polyamide or of a ZL4 alloy having a composition Zn:A14:Cu1. The proposed mechanism is not susceptible to plastic deformation of the junction area between the slider body and the slider jaw.

The slider moves by a solenoid, thus connecting the home-appliance with the electrical source. The door-lock device comprises a micro switch (20) detecting closing and opening of the door; a solenoid (80) actuated by electricity; a slider (30) operated by the solenoid (80) and having a hollow part (31) therein; a safety pin (40) located in the hollow part (31) and elastically supported by a spring (41); a cam (50) rotatably holding the latch (10); and a rocker (60) restricting the rotation of the cam (50) by the slider (30). The latch (10) moves the safety pin (40) out of the hollow part of the slider (30), so the slider (30) can be moved by the solenoid (80).

  • Patent number: 4556244
Abstract: A latch of the pull-up type for a cabinet door is latched and unlatched by turning the latch handle in one direction or the other. When the door is in latched position, rotating the latch handle in the unlatching direction initially causes a spring-biased shaft, which carries a latching pawl, to move axially inwardly. This inward movement of the shaft is permitted because a cam in the handle is moved rotationally to present downwardly sloping cam surfaces to opposite ends of a cam-follower pin which is mounted on the shaft near its outer end. The shaft is prevented from rotating on its own axis until a motion-control cross pin, which is also mounted on the shaft, is moved inwardly a sufficient distance to escape from axial motion-control slots in a support sleeve which is mounted on the door at an opening therein and through which the shaft passes.
