  • Patent number: 11940040
Abstract: A cam-locking system for use with a retractable driveshaft that includes a housing, a cam carrier located at least partially in the housing, and a cam rotatably coupled to the cam carrier. Translation of the cam carrier along a central axis allows the cam to rotate into cooperative engagement with a catch recess on an interior surface of the housing, preventing the cam carrier from translating backwards, and thereby maintaining the retractable driveshaft in an engaged position. Further advancement of the cam carrier allows that cam to rotate into and unlocking gap in the interior surface of the housing, which enables the cam carrier to translate backwards along the central axis below the locked position, thereby disengaging the retractable driveshaft.

  • Patent number: 11795654
Abstract: An underpinning device for support a structure is provided. The underpinning device is anchored within the ground using a grout or cement. The underpinning device comprises a rod having a proximal rod end and a distal rod end. A first interacting element is coupled to the proximal rod end and is encased in the slab of a building. A second interacting element is coupled to the distal rod end and include a removable tip. Upon insertion into the ground, the tip dissociates from the second interacting element creating an opening at the distal rod end. A fluid, such as grout and/or cement is injected into the pipe and extruded through channels within the rod. The fluid is then allowed to cure thereby anchoring the underpinning device within the ground.

  • Patent number: 11555316
Abstract: Anchors, clutches, and lifting systems are described herein that increase the size of a shear cone within a precast concrete panel without using multiple clutches and without increasing the complexity of the lift system. A shear cone is the volume within the panel that the anchor and clutch pull on when orienting and positioning the precast concrete panel. Anchors described herein encompass a larger volume of the panel in different ways to produce a larger shear cone. Similarly, the clutches described herein have features that allow a clutch to accommodate the improved anchors. As a result, the anchors, clutches, and lifting systems provide a larger shear cone in the panel to increase the load capacity of the lifting system and reduce the likelihood of failure.

  • Patent number: 8764084
Abstract: A lifting link (101) for anchors embedded in concrete panels is disclosed having a shackle (102) with a recessed cross bridge (151). A part circular latch (114) rotates within a chamber (105) of a hollow toroidal ring (104). The chamber has a circular longitudinal axis (119). The upper portion of the ring is formed into a U-shaped slot (113) through which a handle (115) of the latch (114) rotates. A transverse slot (109) accepts the head of anchor (6). The shackle bears against the exterior surface (103B) of the U-shaped slot (113). The radius of curvature of the exterior surface (103B) has a center which is not coincident with the center of the radius of curvature of the chamber axis (119). The part circular latch (114) extends through more than half a circle. Thus the center of lift (125) of the shackle (102) is worked away from the adjacent surface (10) of the concrete panel, thereby saving the surface (10) from damage during lifting.

  • Patent number: 8596701
Abstract: A hoist ring assembly with expansion anchor includes an anchor subassembly and a rotatable and pivotable lifting loop. The anchor subassembly includes a bushing element, an engagement element and a retainer element. The bushing element has an anchor shaft extending along a major axis. The engagement element has a threaded bore extending long a bore axis which is approximately parallel to the major axis when the assembly is in assembled state. The threaded bore is adapted to threadably receive a threaded portion of the retainer element. The bore axis may be forced out of alignment with the major axis by way of a tightening rotation of the threaded portion with respect to the threaded bore, thus expanding the effective diameter of the combined anchor shaft and engagement element. The assembly is thereby releasably anchorable to a pre-drilled hole in a load to be lifted.

Abstract: A generally X-shaped lift coupling for use with a conventional dovetail socket. One leg of the X-shaped lift coupling slides axially in a keyway in the other leg between a position where the lower end of the sliding leg is engaged with an angularly extending wall of the dovetail socket, and a position where the sliding leg is fully disengaged from the dovetail socket. A retainer holds the slidable leg in assembled relationship with the fixed leg. At least the fixed leg includes a lifting eye for engagement by a lifting member. The application of a lifting force to the lifting eye causes the lower ends of the legs to wedgedly engage the dovetail socket to lock the lift coupling to the dovetail socket. When the slidable leg is also provided with a lifting eye, the two eyes are generally in registry when the slidable leg is fully engaged with the dovetail socket. Insertion of a lifting member through both eyes locks the two legs together in an assembled configuration.

  • Patent number: 6481769
Abstract: A lifting device that simultaneously lifts a plurality of retaining wall blocks initially oriented in a triangular configuration on a pallet and allows them to be easily realigned in a linear configuration on a retaining wall. The lifting device comprises two pivoting lateral extending side arms with clamping units attached to their distal ends. Attached to the main planar frame is a central clamping unit. Each clamping unit includes an insert member that inserts into a large, vertically aligned hole formed in the block. When the clamping units are inserted into the hole and activated, three triangularly aligned sets of blocks on a pallet may be lifted. The side arms are designed to pivot rearward so that the front surfaces of the blocks are longitudinally aligned and the blocks are positioned in a side-by-side manner. Once properly realigned, the lifting device is lowered so that the three blocks are simultaneously placed over the top row of the retaining wall.
