On the other side of the hook pivot eye the operating lever is positioned extending substantially radially. The hook pivot eye may be positioned in the plane of the slot. In this case the operating lever reaches a limit of its motion by contact with the bridging member of the suspension shackle. The hook pivot eye may however also be oriented perpendicularly to the slot.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1985Date of Patent: November 3, 1987Assignee: Dr. Ing. Patent number: 4700979Abstract: An apparatus for lifting precast concrete panels includes a lifting body having a forward portion adapted to engage in an anchor head, a latch yoke pivotally connected to a rearward end of the lifting body and including a safety latch cooperating with the forward portion to lock an anchor head to the forward portion, a release yoke pivotally attached to the lifting body and including a cam roller for urging the latch yoke to pivot to a release position, and a lifting bail pivotally attached to the forward portion. The lifting body includes a safety pin block extending upwardly from a rearward portion thereof adjacent to the rearward end of the latch yoke. The latch yoke and safety pin block include bores which are in registry with each other when the apparatus is oriented to a locked position. A safety pin is inserted into the bores and prevents relative pivotal movement between the latch yoke and lifting body, and is removable from the bore by a lanyard which is pulled by a worker.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1986Date of Patent: October 20, 1987Assignee: Dayton Superior CorporationInventors: Peter D. Patent number: 4671554Abstract: The device is an improved hoist coupling for use with anchors having an anchor shaft terminating in an anchor head and embedded in a concrete load in such a way that a portion of the anchor shaft and the anchor head is exposed and protrudes from the concrete body. The couple comprises a coupler body having an underside which is oriented towards and is seated against the load to be lifted, a socket formed in the upper side of the coupler body, in which socket is defined a ring bearing surface, and a hole in the underside of the coupler body opening into the socket for receiving the head of an anchor.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1985Date of Patent: June 9, 1987Assignee: Richmond Screw Anchor Co. Patent number: 4655664Abstract: Workpieces to be machined by a machine tool are taken from pallets by a loader-unloader, which subsequently deposits the machined workpieces on pallets. To simplify the handling of the pallets and to reduce the nonproductive times, a pallet support is provided with a first stack station for supporting a stack of pallets carrying workpieces to be machined and with a second stack station for supporting a stack of pallets for receiving machined workpieces. The loader-unloader is operable to lift an empty pallet from the top of the first stack and to transfer said empty pallet to the second stack station.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1985Date of Patent: April 7, 1987Assignee: Voest-Alpine AktiengesellschaftInventors: Roland Feichtl, Walter Deisenhammer, Eugen Rennstich, Klaus Ganglberger

Patent number: 4634164Abstract: A hoisting assembly with a quick-release shackle for the connection of a hoisting harness to an anchoring member embedded in a precast concrete building element, for the tilt-up and transport of the latter, the assembly comprising a ring part reaching through the central opening of the hoisting shackle and a link plate attached to the ring part at a split hub portion of the ring part which is welded after insertion into the hoisting shackle. The link plate, oriented perpendicularly to the ring part, is attached thereto by means of a weld, or by means of an internally threaded axial extension engaging a male thread on the hub portion of the ring part. The link plate extension may include a threaded sleeve and a connecting screw about which the link plate is rotatable.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1985Date of Patent: January 6, 1987Inventor: Siegfried Fricker

Patent number: 4627198Abstract: A hoisting anchor assembly to be embedded in a cast panel member of the type used as prefabricated building components. The anchor assembly includes an anchor head for receiving a hoisting unit such as a lifting shakle. The anchor head is retained within the panel member by an anchor in the form of an arcuate rod having a 180 degree bend with both ends of the rod being rigidly secured to the anchor head. The panel member is fabricated by horizontally casting a bottom panel section and positioning at least two of the anchor assemblies over the bottom panel section in a spaced-apart relationship with the anchor heads being disposed adjacent the position where the end of the panel section will be formed. A top panel section and a plurality of spaced-apart web sections are then cast over the bottom panel section, with the anchor assemblies being embedded in the web sections.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1984Date of Patent: December 9, 1986Assignee: The Burke CompanyInventor: Sidney E. Patent number: 4615554Abstract: A screw-in fastener for an anchor embedded in a precast concrete element includes a coupling member, to which a transport anchor is applied, a threaded pin insertable into the anchor positioned within the concrete element, and a supporting plate, from which the pin outwardly extends. The supporting plate has a circular end face supported against the upper surface of the concrete element.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1984Date of Patent: October 7, 1986Assignee: Deha Baubedarf GmbH & Co. Patent number: 4591200Abstract: The present invention relates to a lifting wedge which is intended in particular for lifting a paper roll in the vertical position, and which is made up of a substantially cylindrical lifting wedge part (1) having the cross sectional shape of the core hollow of the paper roll, a lifting belt (2) fitted to the lifitng wedge, and friction surfacing (3). The lifting wedge accompanies during transport the roll to be lifted.Previously known lifting devices of this type consist of lifting belts which are passed around paper rolls in the vertical position. The assembling of the belts and fitting them around the rolls is relatively difficult. The lifting wedge part (1) according to the invention is divided in its longitudinal direction preferably into three wedge-shaped sections. The lifting belt (2) encircles that wedge section which has a larger cross sectional surface in its lower part, and forms a lifting loop above the wedge section.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 1985Date of Patent: May 27, 1986Assignee: Lassila & Tikanoja OyInventor: Ilkka Randen

Patent number: 4575144Abstract: A device for attaching a lifting cable to a load. Lifting forces are imparted through a pair of inclined surfaces of the device which surfaces engage like surfaces on the load being lifted. A main member houses positionable member which has one of the inclined surfaces thereon and may be rotated for insertion below an inclined surface on the load. The main member has the remaining lifting inclined surface thereon. A locking member is slidably mounted on a main member of the device and gravitates into a position whereat the positionable member is prevented from movement. The lifting cable passes through openings in the movable, locking and main members of the device. A bolt equipped clevis may be coupled to said members.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1984Date of Patent: March 11, 1986Inventors: Edwin L. Silva, Fred D. Silva
