Having Overhead Guard Patents (Class 296/107.03)
  • Patent number: 9481556
Abstract: An industrial vehicle includes a vehicle body and a battery pack, which is placed in the vehicle body. The battery pack includes a counterweight and at least one battery cell, which partially contacts the counterweight. The battery pack is arranged in the vehicle body such that a contact portion of the counterweight that contacts the at least one battery cell exchanges heat with relative wind by a greater amount than a non-contact portion of the at least one battery cell that have no contact with the counterweight.

  • Patent number: 8845005
Abstract: A captive track motion system for a convertible roof which includes a first rear side rail pivotally connected to a main frame, and an intermediate side rail pivotally connected to the first rear side rail. The first rear side rail and the intermediate side rail are part of a movable frame assembly. A roller is connected to the intermediate side rail, and a track is connected to the main frame. The roller is disposed in the track, and the movement of the roller in the track defines the movement of the movable frame assembly as the movable frame assembly is changed between a stowed position and a deployed position.

  • Publication number: 20120112491
Abstract: An apparatus and method for reducing noise in a vehicle having a soft top roof. The apparatus includes a main extension bar having a first end and an opposing second end. A first coupling mechanism is affixed to the first end and a second coupling mechanism is affixed to the second end. The first and second coupling mechanisms are attached to roll bars located on a top portion of the vehicle. With the apparatus in place upon the roll bars, the main extension bar exerts upward force against the soft top roof of the vehicle, thereby reducing movement of the soft top roof and noise within the interior of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7967365
Abstract: An actuation mechanism for a stowable front roof panel includes a first support assembly to provide vertical movement of the roof panel and a second sliding support structure to provide horizontal movement of the front roof panel. The first support assembly includes first and second upwardly extending supports and a transverse tubular cross member that in combination form an inverted U-shaped roll over protection member. The roll over protection member is used to provide roll over protection to the occupants of the motor vehicle in the event of a vehicle roll over.

  • Patent number: 7896422
Abstract: A convertible top for a vehicle that is provided with a dynamic roll bar or dynamic occupant head protection system. The convertible top has a skylight that is retained in a skylight opening formed in the flexible cover of the convertible top. The skylight may be supported on one of the bows of the convertible top or may be supported on a skylight linkage that cooperates with the top stack linkage. In the event that a need for the roll bar is sensed by the vehicle resulting in the actuation of the roll bar assembly, the roll bar assembly may break the skylight in the course of deployment to assure fully deployment of the roll bar assembly.

  • Patent number: 7306280
Abstract: An overhead guard comprises a guard frame and a plurality of guard members. The guard frame is coupled to a suitable support structure of a materials handling vehicle so as to extend generally over at least a portion of an operator's compartment of the vehicle. The guard frame is oriented at an angle having a magnitude that is at least five degrees relative to the horizontal, and is angled upward towards a load handling assembly of the vehicle, at least in an area of the guard situated between a normal vehicle operating position and the load handling assembly. The plurality of guard members are supported by the guard frame at least within an area generally over the operator's compartment of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7156446
Abstract: A convertible motor vehicle first and second storage compartments extending transversely behind a seat. A rigid roof shell has two posts defining a rear opening. The first compartment extends laterally forward past the seat. Guide rails extend laterally in the first compartment forward past the seat. Respective guide slides on the rear end posts ride on the guide rails, and the roof shell is displaceable along the guide rails between an up position wholly out of the first storage compartment and a down position wholly in the first compartment with the guide slides laterally flanking the seat. A rear windshield fits in the opening between the posts. A guide in the second storage compartment displaces the rear windshield between a lowered position in the second compartment and a raised position fitting between the rear end posts of the windshield in the up position thereof and closing the rear opening.

  • Patent number: 7036866
Abstract: A convertible motor vehicle has a seat, a trunk behind the seat, and a storage compartment extending transversely of the direction behind the seat and forward of the trunk and extending laterally of the seat in the direction forward past the seat. An arcuate and rigid roof shell has two rear end posts defining a rear opening and riding via slides in guide rails laterally spacedly flanking the seat and extending from the compartment in the direction forward past the seat. The roof can move along the guide rails between an up position wholly out of the storage compartment and a down position wholly in the compartment with the guide slides laterally flanking the seat. A rear windshield displaceable between a lowered position in the storage compartment and a raised position fitting between the rear end posts of the windshield in the up position thereof and closing the rear opening.
