Abstract: The invention generally concerns a semi-trailer to be trailed by a tractor. The semi-trailer comprises a wheeled deck having two lateral sides, proximate and distal longitudinal end sides. The semi-trailer also comprises two wall structures so pivotably mounted to the deck along a respective lateral side thereof as to be movable between an upright position, where the semi-trailer is in a dry-box configuration, and a lay down position wherein the semi-trailer is in a flatbed configuration. The two pivotable wall structures allow the semi-trailer to be moved between the dry-box configuration and the flatbed configuration.

  • Publication number: 20090273209
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a retractable roof system that provides slidable roof sections for vehicles and truck bed shells/caps, where the cargo area roof panels and rear window panel (hatch above tailgate) may be moved forward and above the seating area roof section, by means of a telescoping track system. Additionally, as applied to vehicles, the roof section above the seating areas may be moved rearward and above the cargo area roof section. The retractable roof system truck bed shell/cap assembly will come in segments that can be stored and shipped in a relatively small container. The shell/cap structure is composed of metal frame members and window panels. Right and left telescoping track assemblies are mounted on the metal frame members, with roof panels secured between them. Side and front window panels are attached to the exterior of the metal frame members to form the shell/cap walls.

  • Publication number: 20030102698
Abstract: A retainer system for vehicle soft tops and tonneau covers. The system includes a belt attached to the edge of the fabric of the top or tonneau cover and a channel member mounted on the vehicle to selectively receive the belt. The belt is provided with a stop mechanism to positively prevent the belt from peeling out of the retaining channel member farther than desired. In the preferred embodiments, the stop mechanism is a notch or cutout in the belt. With the present retainer system, the notch will effectively stop the peel or withdrawal of the belt from the retaining channel at a predetermined location along the channel. In this manner, the belt and attached top or tonneau cover can be partially removed from engagement along the channel member to make it easier and quicker for the operator to perform a number of desirable tasks.
