Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of a rear mounted folding top assembly for use with a vehicle. The folding top assembly can create an opening on the top of the vehicle by rotating a plurality of arms and folding over a cover. The assembly can be designed and shaped to improve aerodynamics when the vehicle is moving and prevent the buildup of water on the soft cover.

Abstract: A shopping cart cover for providing protection to a user and contents of a shopping cart during inclement weather conditions, such as rain or snow, or providing shade against the sun. The cover includes four legs that can collapse or expand and attach to the cart using one or more fastening members. In addition, the configuration of the roof of the cover allows a plurality of covers to be stacked on top of each other.

Abstract: The present invention is a cable tonneau system having at least one frame assembly selectively mounted to a vehicle, and at least one bow portion having a plurality of links pivotally connected to the frame assembly. Also included is a cover operatively connected to the frame assembly and the bow portion for concealing a storage area of the vehicle. The frame assembly and the plurality of links are operable to be pivoted between a stowed position and a deployed position. The cover is positioned to expose the storage area of the vehicle when the frame assembly and the plurality of links are in the stowed position. The cover conceals the storage area of the vehicle when the frame assembly and the plurality of links are in the deployed position.

Abstract: A convertible top stack linkage is provided that is formed, in part, in a thixotropic magnesium molding process. Many structural parts of the convertible top stack linkage may be thixotropically molded. A pivot link of the top stack linkage is pivotally connected to two bows, for example, the three and four bows of the top stack. A five bow extends between and is attached to right and left pivot links by right and left pressure links, respectively. A pivot link is provided that has a triple pivot connection to a tensioning link, a center rail and a rear rail. A main spring is secured to a pivot pin and connected to a main pivot bracket on the vehicle to provide a counterbalancing force on the balance link that assists in lifting the top stack linkage as the convertible top is retracted and extended.

Abstract: A method for attaching a soft top to a motor vehicle body tensions the soft top without a separate tensioning device. The method includes the general steps of attaching a support member to the motor vehicle for pivotal movement about a transverse pivot axis, supporting an upper rear corner of the top with the support member, and tensioning the top by upwardly and rearwardly biasing the upper rear corner of the top with the support member. The support member functions to provide a spring load for tensioning the top. In the preferred method, the support member is elastically deformed for tensioning the top.

Abstract: A convertible pickup truck which has a rear extended cab area and a windshield assembly. The convertible pickup truck has a roof structure which pivots about a framework or a safety bar. In the lowered position, the roof structures resides within the confines of the area defined by the rear extended cab of the pickup truck.

Abstract: A flexible-roof support for a vehicle. The vehicle has a door opening on each side, each door opening having an upper part. The flexible-roof support includes two side bows, each side bow having a short leg, a long leg, and an elbow where the short and long legs are connected, and distal ends opposite the elbow. The distal ends of the short legs are pivotally attachable to the vehicle above the belt line and behind the door openings, such that the side bows are alignable with the sides of the vehicle and the long legs of the side bows are alignable with the upper part of the door openings. Another embodiment is a flexible-roof support which includes a front bow, two front bow arms, each front bow arm having two ends and, two bow pivots, such that the support may be folded back to form a sun roof, to the flexible-roof support or to a portion of the flexible roof which remains over the passenger compartment. The front bow has a member which substantially spans the width of the vehicle and has two ends.
