Abstract: An expandable shelter assembly that includes a covering hinge coupled to an expandable frame and a base hinge coupled to the expanding frame opposite the covering. The expandable frame is a hollow quadrilateral structure that includes a plurality of sides. The expandable frame includes a collapsed state and a deployed state. When collapsed, the expandable frame is collapsed and the cover is positioned proximate to the base. When deployed, the expandable frame is expanded and the cover is positioned distal to the base. Each side of the expandable frame is insulated, collapsible; includes a first panel hinge coupled to a second panel; and folds inward when the expandable frame is in the collapsed state. The covering and the base are each complementary in shape compared to the expandable frame. The covering is a rigid structure that partially encloses the expandable frame. The base is a hollow and rigid frame.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, coordinate dynamic adjustments of a trailer based in part on a user profile associated with a user physically present at the trailer and an activity profile associated with an activity selected to be performed at the trailer. A dynamic adjustment may modify a tilt of a lower surface of the trailer. A dynamic adjustment may modify a dimension(s) of the trailer based in part on a detected object(s). Various dynamic adjustments may occur concurrently, individually and/or sequentially. The trailer may be a moveable trailer for temporary attachment with a vehicle.

Abstract: A two-way-openable printer includes a hinge portion for connecting an upper unit and a lower unit, provided at the rear of the printer, and a paper ejection opening of the printer at the front. The hinge portion has a lower hinge bracket connected to the lower unit, an upper hinge bracket connected to the lower hinge bracket with a pivot pin and pivotable about the pivot pin, and a bracket cover for the upper hinge bracket. The upper unit has a portion which allows the upper unit to pivot about the bracket cover. The upper unit has a first opening mode in which it is opened at the front ejection opening side, and a second opening mode in which it is fully opened by pivoting at the hinge portion so that a first side surface of the upper unit faces downward and an opposite side surface faces upward.

Abstract: A foldaway balcony that includes a vertical support, a platform structure tiltably mounted to the vertical support and a barrier structure mounted on the platform structure. The platform structure includes a support structure and a floor structure which are tiltable separately from one another relative to the vertical support. The barrier structure includes barrier elements, hinged at the edge of the platform structure, and tiltable between a stowed position in which they lie inside the support structure, and a deployed position, in which they stand up relative to the support structure. A barrier element, connected to a distal side of the edge of the platform structure includes a first and a second pair of stanchions hinged to the distal side, a first and a second rod which interconnect the upper ends of the stanchions, and a handrail with parallel guides, in which are housed the first and the second rods.

Abstract: System and methods for performing a risk management assessment of a property using at least aerial imagery of the property and additional data about the property that is evaluated against risk management criteria. Data acquired through aerial imagery includes identifying buildings and floor area of the buildings, condition of the buildings including roof and exterior walls, and identifying other property hazards. Additional data may include property information coming from multiple sources including city and County governments, contractors and insurance companies. The resulting risk management assessment may be used to settle insurance claims and to determine insurance products and premium rates offered on the property.

Abstract: A truck bed cover and extender includes two panel assemblies each attached to the inside of one of the bed walls. A panel assembly includes one or more panels attached to a frame. Each assembly is configured to move through three positions: a stowed position, wherein the assembly is stowed inside the truck bed substantially against the wall to which it is attached; a horizontal position, wherein the assembly is substantially horizontal and wherein the assemblies cooperate to form a partial or complete cover of the bed's cargo area; and an extended position, wherein the assembly substantially vertical, extending above the truck bed.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a new and improved method and apparatus for assembly, support and adjustment of recreational vehicle bedding. An embodiment of the invention includes a recreational bedding supporting apparatus comprising a bedding base, a vertical support having a stationary leg, a mobile leg, a pivotal structure and a lever, the stationary leg extending towards the pivotal structure and operationally connected to the lever, and a proximal and distal end associated with the lever, the distal end in communication with the mobile leg and the proximal end extending therefrom, whereby the mobile leg is adapted for incremental positioning of the bedding base.

Abstract: A convertible bed for a recreational vehicle has a sliding section and an inclining section. The sliding section is engageable with a frame for sliding movement relative to the frame between an extended position and a retracted position. The inclining section is pivotally combined and slidable with the sliding section. The inclining section is positioned for movement relative to the frame between a substantially flat position when the sliding section is in the extended position and an inclined position when the sliding section is in the retracted position.

Abstract: A recreational vehicle having a slide-out housing, wherein the slide-out housing may be positioned in either a retracted or deployed configuration. In the deployed configuration, the slide-out housing extends outwardly from a main housing of the recreational vehicle so as to enlarge the living space within the main housing. In the retracted configuration, the slide-out housing extends inwardly into the main housing so as to reduce the living space within the main housing. In various embodiments, the slide-out housing is lifted prior to retraction and lowered after deployment so that the floor of the slide-out housing aligns with the floor of the main housing. In other various embodiments, vertical movement of the slide-out housing may occur during retraction and deployment. Moreover, the recreational vehicle may utilize a vertical actuating assembly, as disclosed herein, that is adapted to engage with the slide-out housing to thereby lift and lower the slide-out housing.

Abstract: A pull-out extender includes a container that is attachable to a passenger vehicle. A foldable table-like unit is stored in the container and includes rollers which are accommodated in grooves defined in the container. Foldable and telescoping legs are attached to the table-like elements and a tent-like cover can also be attached to the vehicle above the container to cover the table-like elements when such elements are deployed. Grommets are included on the table-like elements for accommodating umbrellas.

Abstract: A combination truck-box cover and collapsible tent-like shelter generally comprising a tonneau-type box cover adapted to contain generally all components of a tent shelter while allowing generally full access to the truck box, and especially that the shelter is adapted to extend to the end of an opened tail-gate and further so as to also be fitted to a short-box pickup truck. The bed portions thereby provide ample bed length even on a truck box of less than adequate length.

Abstract: A low profile, expandable, mobile rigid structure with unique a unique assembly and support system, that can easily be transported by an average sized vehicle. The structure features a central structure with a central roof section, a pair of endwall assemblies, and a central floor mounted to a base. The endwalls are two pieced having a bottom endwall panel and a top endwall panel. From the side of the central structure one or more side sections are retractable and expandable to increase the size of the floor space inside. The two pieced endwalls allow for compaction of the structure for travel by translating the lower portion of the endwall from supporting the upper portion. A two pieced door allows entry into the structure when it is expanded.

Abstract: An extendable loading floor for a motor vehicle has a supporting element which is fitted to the loading floor and can be adjusted along an associated supporting rail which extends in the pull-out direction and is connected to the vehicle. The loading floor is adjustable between a retracted position and en extended position. In order to simplify the design of a loading floor of this type, lifting apparatuses are connected to the vehicle and support the loading floor in the vicinity of the loading edge. The lifting apparatuses are designed to carry out a lift. In addition, the supporting rail rises, by a difference in level corresponding to the lift of he lifting apparatus, between a first rail section which faces away from the loading edge and in which the supporting element of the loading floor is supported in its retracted position, and a second rail section which faces the loading edge and in which the supporting element of the loading floor is supported in its extended position.

Abstract: A surface mount slide-out support system has rollers rotatably mounted to its side walls spaced apart and received in inwardly opening U-shaped channels of a frame. The channels have gear racks affixed to than with pinion gears meshing with die racks on a common shaft and an electric motor driving the shaft. Nylon bearings between the rails and the rollers help prevent racking.

Abstract: A camper cot assembly, for use on a pick-up truck having a bed having bed sides extending upward from the bed, comprising a frame and a sturdy fabric covering extending between the frame. The frame comprises a pair of main members which extend between the bed sides, and a pair of stabilizing supports which extend between the main members at the ends thereof. The stabilizing supports prevent the main members from sliding toward each other when a person lays upon the fabric covering. The main members are configured so as to allow the cot assembly to rest upon the bed sides with or without a camper shell also installed thereupon.

Abstract: A movable bed frame for installation in a conventional trailer and which has a unique counterbalance system for raising the bed frame to a horizontal up or storage position and for lowering the bed frame in a horizontal down position. The counterbalance system is produced by pressurized gas pistons secured to the bed frame and to side walls of the trailer which balances the bed frame so well that a child eight years old can raise and lower the bed frame.

Abstract: A folding trailer having at least one expandable bed assembly includes a trailer body having sidewalls, end walls and a guide rail attached to each of the sidewalls. The sidewalls and end walls of the trailer body define an internal space. The folding trailer further includes a first mattress frame having extension rails slidably received in the guide rails attached to the sidewalls of the trailer body. The first mattress frame is movable between a retracted position in which the first mattress frame at least partially encloses the internal space defined by the trailer body and an open position in which the first mattress frame extends outward from an end wall of the trailer body leaving an external space between a leading edge of the first mattress frame and the end wall. The leading edge of the first mattress frame includes a support member extending into the external space.

Abstract: The folding vehicle bed assembly includes a housing member that can be connected to a vertical support wall and a bed frame that can be stored within the housing member or extended for use. A movable support lever provides a first pivotal connection to the bed frame to enable the bed frame to rotate when moved from an operative horizontal position to a vertical storage position. A second pivotal connection is attached to the end of the bed frame adjacent to the vertical support wall and above the height of a mattress. A motor assembly is connected to the second pivotal connection to drive it parallel to the vertical support wall and to rotate the end of the bed frame about the second pivotal connection.

Abstract: A folding camping trailer includes a trailer body having an end wall. An expandable bed is movable between a closed position retracted within the trailer body and an opened position extended outward from the end wall. The expandable bed includes a bed support mechanism attached to an underside of the expandable bed. The bed support mechanism is configured to connect to the end wall of the trailer body or to a towing frame of the folding trailer for supporting the expandable bed in a vertical direction when the expandable bed is in the opened position.

Abstract: A folding trailer which includes a slide-out room movable from a retracted position within the trailer to an extended position which adds additional living space to the inside of the trailer. The slide-out room includes a front wall, a rear wall and an exterior wall, with the floor attached therebetween and spaced above the trailer floor. A pair of lateral roller supports attached to the trailer floor along the front wall engages a roller track attached to the inside surface of the front wall. Similarly, a pair of lateral roller supports attached to the trailer floor on the other side of the slide-out room, and adjacent the rear wall, engages a roller track on an inner surface of the rear wall. A plurality of vertical roller supports attached to the trailer floor supports and contacts the lower surface of the slide-out floor.

Abstract: An extendable room comprises accordion type ceiling and wall panels which fold within panel covers when the room is retracted, thereby taking up much less interior space and leaving the interior of the primary structure just as attractive, albeit smaller, as prior to retraction. The wall and ceiling panels are hinged together with tongue and groove connections and are secured in the flat, extended configuration by steel cables running through the panels. The side walls also include windows which may be made clear and opaque electronically. The secondary floor is retractable below the floor of the primary structure when the room is retracted, permitting the room extension floor to become the primary floor.

Abstract: A fold down-expandable camper shell that collapses to a very small unit for storage. The collapsed unit is only slightly larger than a standard pick-up camper shell, auto top or boat cabin, yet when open, the camper body has normal standing headroom. The unit has a push out queen size bed that is set up above the cab, leaving the living area completely open. An air mattress and bedding, that are normally carried on the bed frame can be extended and filled, ready to use. Extension bars, that are joined by cables, can extend outward on both sides of the vehicle, to create an area for bunk beds or storage shelves while cooking, etc. A soft canvas type covering is attached to the unit so that it is sealed and protected from the elements. Windows and screens can be added for viewing and for airflow as desired.

Abstract: A shelf for a platform of a fold-down camper is provided, having an end frame with a first and second leg pivotally coupled to opposite sides of the platform and adapted to pivot from a first position substantially parallel to the platform to a second position substantially perpendicular to the platform for supporting an awning. Disposed between the first and second legs, and pivotally coupled thereto, is a shelf. The shelf is oriented so as to be substantially parallel to the platform and that relationship is maintained throughout the movement of the awning support by at least one leg interconnecting the shelf to the platform. All of the supports for the shelf are pivotally coupled and parallel to each other so that the shelf remains parallel to the platform. The shelf is available to store personal belongings or ornamental objects of the occupants without interfering with the occupants while reclined on the platform.

Abstract: A motor home has a rear, extensible room portion that does not require ground support. The extensible room portion comprises a rear wall, roof portion, and a pair of sidewalls having integral top extensions extending over 40% forwardly of the extensible room portion and serving as lever arms.

Abstract: An improved motorhome in which the features normally requiring a large driving and housing space are achieved in a compact area by utilizing a pair of transversely positionable trundles each carrying a fixed cushion portion and a longitudinally movable, track-carried cushion member each such cushion member comprising a pair of cushions selectively rotatably about a common axis from a horizontal position, when a bed function is being performed, to a vertical or semi-vertical position, when a driver's or passenger's seat function, or a lounging function, is being performed, servo-mechanical means being provided to move and lock each cushion member in the appropriate longitudinal position and the rotatable cushions in the desired elevational position.

Abstract: An expandable bed assembly for a camping trailer is mounted on a pair of extension rails which are slidably mounted on the camping trailer. A first bed frame and mattress are supported by the extension rails, and a second bed frame and mattress are pivotally connected by a pair of parallel links to the first bed frame for pivoting movement between a storage position in which the second bed frame is supported above the first bed frame and a use position in which the second bed frame extends in substantially the same plane as the first bed frame.

Abstract: Mobile lodging, including a vehicular body for a trailer and having a plurality of adjacent sleeping cabins with dimensions that can be reduced for transport. Each sleeping cabin includes a fixed portion and a sleeping element extending in a longitudinal direction and containing at least one bed. The sleeping element is slidable in a longitudinal direction in the fixed portion between an open configuration in which the fixed portion contains an open aisle region located longitudinally behind the bed and a closed configuration in which the sleeping element totally occupies the aisle region. The aisle region of each sleeping cabin is directly laterally accessible from the sleeping element of the immediately laterally adjacent sleeping cabin.

Abstract: A camper which comprises a pair of laterally extending sections which are coupled to a roof by a plurality of strut pairs. A canvas wall is connected between the roof and the sections and includes elastic cords which are stretched when the camper is erected and which cause the canvas walls to fold inwardly when the camper is folded. The sections are provided with threaded shafts which are engaged by gear assemblies and which are driven by a motor to cause the sections to move outwardly which in turn pivots the struts to force the roof upwardly to erect the camper and which upon reversing of the motor causes the sections to move inwardly into an overlapping position which pivots the struts downwardly to draw the roof down to the folded position.

Abstract: Mobile camping apparatus which includes a van type of automotive vehicle. The van has a body provided with a chamber therein which serves as living quarters. The roof of the body is angularly movable to a raised position. Horizontal bed structure mounted adjacent the upper portion of the body serves as a ceiling for the living quarters when the bed structure is not positioned for use. The bed structure is moved linearly with respect to the body as the roof angularly moves upwardly. The bed structure becomes positioned for use when a major portion of the bed structure is substantially at the side or front of the body at the upper portion of the body. When the bed structure is so positioned for use, the living quarters is increased in volume and has substantial head room adjacent the bed structure. Motor members, rack and pinion members, and linkage members are included in the apparatus for laterally moving the bed structure and for pivotally moving the roof.

Abstract: Mobile camping apparatus which includes a van type of automotive vehicle. The van has a body provided with a chamber therein which serves as living quarters. The roof of the body is pivotally movable to a raised position. Abstract: A expandable mobile house trailer which includes a relatively rigid main body portion having a floor structure and opposite pairs of vertical side and end walls thereabout. Two parallel arch beam supports are located inside of the main body portion. Each of the arch beam supports is positioned adjacent to and affixed to one of the vertical side walls of the main body portion. The ends of the floor are attached to the corresponding ends of the two arch beam supports. A plurality of vertical structural tension members is affixed at spaced intervals to each of the two arch beam supports. The floor is suspended from the lower ends of the vertical structural member. Two of the structural tension members on each of the two arch beam supports are paired, act as main support members and have substantially more structural strength than the other structural tension members. The floor of the main body portion has a wheel well opening on each side between the two paired structural tension members.

Abstract: Retractable extension for a recreational vehicle including two side wall panels, an end panel and a roof panel. Each panel is of solid construction with the wall panels pivoting on a base panel to a horizontal folded position, the end panel has a compound sliding and pivoting connection with the roof panel and both are jointly folded from in-use position to horizontal position. The stacked panels are then telescoped within a recreational vehicle.

Abstract: A recreational unit for a vehicle bed has two oppositely located cantilever outrigger units. Each cantilever outrigger unit includes a horizontal shelf slidably supported by the top of each vertical side wall of the vehicle bed and an upstanding shelf support attached to the shelf. A floor support member is located on the floor of the vehicle bed. The floor support member contains slots proximate each vertical side wall of the vehicle bed into which the bottom of the upstanding shelf support is received. The two outrigger units can be slid between a stored and an extended position. Thus, when each cantilever outrigger unit is deployed in the extended position, the combined action of the horizontal shelf resting on the vertical side wall of the vehicle bed and the abutment of the bottom of the upstanding shelf support against the edge of the slot forms a rigid cantilever type support for the cantilever outrigger unit.

Abstract: The invention relates to an elevating roof for use in conjunction with a vehicle having a substantially rectangular roof opening defining a pair of longitudinal edges and a pair of transverse edges, of the type comprising a rigid substantially rectangular member adapted to be hinged along one longitudinal edge thereof to said roof, for movement between a lowered position covering said opening and a raised position where it provides one wall of the elevating roof, a canopy of foldable material to extend between corresponding edges of said rigid member and said opening which is unfolded in the raised position of said rigid member to provide the other walls of said elevating roof.An object of the invention is to provide improved sleeping accommodation, which accommodation is also an improvement over that provided by the invention of Applicants' British Pat. Specification No. 1,485,975.
