  • Patent number: 8979190
Abstract: A tray attached to a pivot housing, support arm, and armrest clamp may be easily and quickly detached and reattached to an armrest on a chair. The tray may rotate around an arm hub when a stationary lower index plate in the arm hub is displaced from an upper index plate in the index housing. The tray is restrained from rotation when the upper and lower index plates are in contact with one another. The tray may be disconnected from the support arm while the support arm remains clamped to an armrest. The armrest clamp includes a bevel gear driven in rotation by a clamping ring on the support arm. The bevel gear drives rack gear attached to a traveling clamp jaw. • Patent number: 6877806
Abstract: A folding tray assembly is provided and includes a support member and a tray member, whereby the tray member is pivotably supported by the support member and moveable relative thereto between a use position and a stowed position. The folding tray assembly further includes a locking mechanism operable to selectively lock the tray member to the support member in one of either the use position or the stowed position. The locking mechanism is housed within the tray member such that the mechanism is not visible or accessible by an occupant, but rather remotely actuated by a handle or lever. In addition, the tray assembly eliminates external supports by providing support within the tray member, thereby providing an open space below the tray member and giving the tray assembly a generally L-shape in the use position.

  • Patent number: 6716144
Abstract: The present invention provides and exercise device and methods designed to assist the exerciser in all abdominal strengthening exercises by use of an adjustable resilient means to provide resistance and absorb impact for the exerciser's eccentric range of motion, while supporting or boosting exerciser's concentric range of motion. This device offers maximum support for the exerciser's hips and back through the full range of abdominal exercises. The device includes a seat member and back member pivotally connected so that the seat and back provide a horizontal platform for the exerciser's use in a full range of abdominal exercise. When the preferred embodiment is not in use, the back member and seat member fold together for ease of storage or portability. A second embodiment offers the advanced exerciser adjustable foot positioning and back member positioning and is supported by an external frame assembly.

  • Patent number: 6691627
Abstract: An attachable table for a lawn chair with a hinged (9) and adjustable leg (7). The tabletop (6) attaches to any lawn chair with two Velcro straps (10), which are put through slots (1) at one end of the tabletop. The height is acquired by attaching the flat slotted (7) leg (2) to a hinged pierced flat piece (8) attached to the opposite side of the tabletop, with a carriage bolt (4) and a wing nut (5). The leg adjusts to the desired height as needed for any individual lawn chair by sliding the two flat slotted leg pieces together and then tightening the carriage bolt and wing nut together. All of the pieces are constructed of plastic except the carriage bolt and wing nut, which is made of metal. All of the corners are rounded and the edges are beveled to eliminate sharpness.

  • Patent number: 6412862
Abstract: An assembly for mounting a table, tray or other removable component to a chair to support a laptop computer or other appliance includes a socket that can be permanently mounted in the chair arm and a bracket or mounting assembly that can be mounted on the bottom of the removable component. The socket includes a sleeve with a collar mounted on the top of the sleeve. The collar surrounds the area around a hole in the chair arm through which the socket sleeve extends. The sleeve is attached to an internal frame member. A spring biased plug shifts within a cavity in the sleeve. A rigid pin located on the bottom of the removable component is inserted through a central opening in the collar into the cavity, forcing the plug into the sleeve. The table is firmly supported by the socket, but it is free to rotate in a horizontal plane.
