By straddling the patient, the surgeon is ideally positioned to perform certain types of laparoscopic surgery, such as pelvic surgery, which requires the use of relatively long surgical instruments. The operating support supports the surgeon in a more ergonomically correct position that reduces the stress and strain on the surgeon's body as compared to the conventional technique of performing laparoscopic surgery in a standing position at one side of the operating table.

  • Patent number: 8007041
Abstract: A lightweight, adjustable seat clamping assembly for attaching a seat to a bicycle or like cycle comprised of three links assembled together to create three parallel pivotal axes that form a triangular pattern. One link contains the seat post. Another link contains the seat. The third link provides support between the first two. With respect to the seat post, angular position and horizontal clamping offset are adjusted by altering the positions of the three pivotal axes. Horizontal seat position is adjusted by shifting the seat horizontally within the assembly. The assembly can incorporate a calibration scale that assists the rider in determining and remembering the seat's angular position.

Abstract: A seat for a vehicle and a seat for a watercraft include a polyurethane-made first cushion body covered with a seat skin. A thermoplastic elastomer-made second cushion body is disposed between the first cushion body and a bottom plate 43. The relationships of t1<t2, 5 mm?t1?30 mm, and 20 mm?t2?50 mm are established, where t1 is the material thickness of the first cushion body, and t2 is the material thickness of the second cushion body. The resulting configuration provides a seat for a vehicle and a seat for watercraft which are capable of securing a good ride comfort.

  • Patent number: 7950736
Abstract: A vehicle seat is slidably mounts to rails secured to a vehicle chassis. The rails extend downwardly and away from the steering shaft of the vehicle at a substantial slope. Grooves formed in the rails receive posts secured to the seat to slidably mount the seat. A plurality of registration surfaces, such as a row of apertures, are secured to the rails and engage one or more locking pins. The locking pins are actuated by cables extending to a lever positioned near the edge of the seat. Springs urge the locking pins into engagement with the registration surfaces when tension is not applied to the cables. In an alternative embodiment, an air spring mounts between the seat and vehicle chassis. The amount of air within the air spring controls the position of the seat along the rails.
