  • Patent number: 9758204
Abstract: The Motorcycle Operator Endurance Seat-Off Road (MOESOF) is a layered mesh like structure of straps that when installed over an existing off road motorcycle style seat provides additional width to better support a seated rider. The straps are spaced apart and attached together only at the points the straps cross each other. The middle layer of straps is sewn into loops that capture and hold two structural foam seating components, one each on the left and right. These cylinders are suspended alongside the sides of an existing motorcycle seat, the top of the cylinders roughly parallel to the top of the existing seat. When a load is applied by a seated rider the straps firm up under tension caused by the foam wanting to deform under compression. When not under load the structure articulates in place, deflecting out of the way from horizontal rider contact, returning when contact ends.

Abstract: A shape-memory saddle structure, particularly for pedal driven vehicles, comprising a substantially rigid or semirigid support frame (2), means (4) for connecting said frame (2) to a vehicle, a yielding pad (7) secured to the upper face (S) of the frame (2), and a cover layer (5) laid over the yielding pad (3). The frame (2) has one or more portions (6, 6?, 6?) having a different deformability from that of the rest of the frame (2). The portions (6, 6?, 6?) include at least one membrane of fibrous material, which is susceptible to permanent deformation in response to a compression stress by a user, so as to take a deformed configuration. The membrane (7) is closely joined to at least one layer of elastomeric material (8), which is adapted to locally change the rigidity of the membrane (7) by elastically holding it at least partly in the deformed configuration, to customize the frame (2) to the specific user's body.

Abstract: A bicycle seat has an arrow-shape sitting part with a recess has centered down the length of the sitting part top from the wide rear towards the tapered front. The sitting part consists of a framework, which forms the seat bottom; a core, which forms the seat center part and a seat cover which forms its top. Two feet protrude from the sitting part bottom in the longitudinal axis, one in its rear and other one in its front. Each foot forms a monolithic part together with the seat framework. The foot connects directly to the solid block with the hole perpendicular to the seat axis. A shock absorber is mounted on the solid block hole. A bolt passes through a hole in the shock absorber to fasten light-weight flat shaped strips on both its sides, the strips having a rectangular cross-section. Holes have been made in the strip ends.

Abstract: A motorcycle seat cushion comprising a base with an array of upstanding air cells across the base. In one aspect, the air cells are interconnected such that pressure is spread cross a wider area to reduce pressure points. There are external air flow pathways between the cells that allow air to circulate among the cells to disperse heat and moisture. There is a midline pathway that is positioned under the perineum and coccyx of the rider to provide pressure relief to the perineum, prostate and coccyx of the male rider. In one aspect, the cushion includes a cover having top and side walls of the cover constructed from a two-way stretch material. The cover has air vents that functionally align with at least some of the air flow pathways to promote the flow of ambient air into the air flow pathways.
