Abstract: A pew securing apparatus and method features a base having a plurality of barbs extended at an angle therefrom, with the base being secured to the underside of a leg of a pew. The weight of the pew causes the barbs to penetrate a carpeted surface. The combination of the weight of the pew and the angle of the barbs causes the pew to resist lateral movement when in position. In one embodiment, two (or more) apparatuses may be utilized, and it may be desired to position one so that the plurality of barbs extend in a first direction, and a second so that its plurality of barbs extend in a second, different direction.
Abstract: A sofa includes a furniture base assembly that is easily assembled without the need of a jig or fixture, provides for a reduced number of component parts, and provides for aesthetically pleasing base assembly joints. In one embodiment, the front rail member and the back rail member are integrally formed with the corner block members, side rails are connected thus forming an integrated rail member and thereby dispensing with a base joint exposed on the front of the furniture product. The base is affixed to the sofa frame and upholstery is attached to the frame for providing a finished sofa with a showood base.
Abstract: The specification discloses a modular transportation seating assembly that includes a support frame and seats mounted on the frame. The frame includes a seat beam and a cantilever beam. The cantilever beam includes a body and a connector inserted into the body and held together by compressive force. The body has an end defining a plurality of receivers, and the connector includes a plurality of lugs each received within one of said receivers. The seat beam includes a body, a tee nut slidably received within the body, a second connector outside the body, and a fastener intersecuring the two connectors to retain them in position along the length of the body. A single fastener intersecures the connectors on the seat beam and the cantilever beam. The seat includes a flange hooked about the back edge of the seat beam and one or more fasteners connecting the seat to the forward edge of the seat beam.

Abstract: The present application describes a chassis for an air passenger seat for an aircraft. According to one exemplary embodiment, the chassis has at least two first lateral parts, and a first and a second spar. The second spar is implemented in the foot region of the air passenger seat and, in addition to its supporting function, ensures baggage is secured. The assumption of additional objects by the chassis construction advantageously allows an air passenger seat to be manufactured with minimum material outlay and therefore weight outlay.

Abstract: A vehicle is provided which enables rear occupants to sit on a rear seat in a vehicle provided with seats arranged in a substantially longitudinal direction while simultaneously securing the comfort and safety of the rear occupants in a relatively small vehicle. The seat structure of the vehicle includes a wide rear seat provided with right and left seated parts for rear occupants M2, M2 at a rear side of a front seat for a driver. A backrest corresponding to the right and left seated parts is provided on the rear seat that extends diagonally rearward from a center portion thereof toward sides of the vehicle body. Raised, convex portions for regulating the lateral movement of the occupants are provided between each seated part in the rear seat, at the center of the backrest and in the front seat.
Abstract: A seating system is provided including a beam for supporting seats, wherein the seats are individually mounted to the beam at any selected longitudinal position along the beam. The system facilitates seat positioning and repositioning in a manner that optimizes seating adaptability and ease of installation. The beam preferably includes integral first and second track portions. The first track portion includes a channel that receives bracket-mounted connectors by which the beam is fixed relative to the ground. Each of the seats has at least one seat support with a clamp portion that secures to the second track portion of the beam, free from the channel to avoid interfering with the connectors, regardless of the point at which the support is clamped to the beam. Abstract: A bench is provided for use by at least two persons of similar or differing heights. The bench includes a seat, a back, pivotal members and a support. The pivotal members are held in a substantially vertical position adjacent to the back by a release mechanism. Unlocking the release mechanism results in the pivotal member pivoting to a substantially horizontal position adjacent to the seat. The pivotal member may be locked in this position by a locking mechanism. In addition, in one embodiment of the invention, the back may be horizontally displaced towards the front of the seat, when the pivotal member is in the substantially horizontal position. Thus, the bench may accommodate two persons simultaneously, such as an adult and a child.

Abstract: A passenger seat includes in-flight entertainment (IFE) equipment. A seat set is mounted on a frame which is supported on a laterally-extending beam. One or more seat electronics units are contained in housings shaped and sized to fit in the interior of the beam and are mounted within the beam. Cables enter the beam at appropriate locations and connect the seat electronics units to the IFE hardware or to other aircraft circuits.

Abstract: A swing includes two seat units swingably connected to an upright support frame through suspending members. Each seat unit includes a seat frame disposed between inner and outer side frames, and a backrest frame pivoted to the seat frame. Inner and outer engaging plates are fixed respectively to the inner and outer side frames, and are each formed with a plurality of intercommunicated engaging grooves. Abstract: Seat units in a row of seat units are each connected to an operating bar that is rotationally mounted on a support surface. Abstract: A fan-type foldable device for sub-dividing for privacy purposes, the space occupied by a passenger seated in a moving vehicle or a movie theatre, is described. The fan type device incorporates a means for coupling onto a side of a seat back, thereby maintaining privacy within the sub-divide. Said fan type device folds out of the way when not in use. Abstract: A swing chair assembly includes a support unit, a seat unit disposed among a pair of upright side frames and a horizontal bar of the support unit, and linking units for connecting the seat unit pivotally and swingably to the horizontal bar. The seat unit includes a chair member with a horizontal seat portion and an upright backrest portion, and a table unit disposed adjacent to the seat portion of the chair member. The table unit has a horizontal table top disposed in a raised position with respect to the seat portion of the chair member.
Abstract: An easily assembled and disassembled modular furniture system includes a base frame, a plurality of furniture modules including a first arm module, a second arm module, a seat suspension module and a backrest module, at least one fastener assembly for securing at least one of the modules to the base frame or the modules to each other. Also included is a replaceable upholstery cover for a corresponding one of at least one of the modules, the cover including a sheet of fabric with a first releasable fastener for tensioning the fabric in a first direction upon assembly to the module, and a second releasable fastener for tensioning the fabric in a second direction upon assembly to the module.
Abstract: A bench is provided for use by at least two persons of similar or differing heights. The bench includes a seat, a back, pivotal members and a support. The pivotal members are held in a substantially vertical position adjacent to the back by a release mechanism. Unlocking the release mechanism results in the pivotal member pivoting to a substantially horizontal position adjacent to the seat. The pivotal member may be locked in this position by a locking mechanism. In addition, in one embodiment of the invention, the back may be horizontally displaced towards the front of the seat, when the pivotal member is in the substantially horizontal position. Thus, the bench may accommodate two persons simultaneously, such as an adult and a child.

Abstract: A passenger seat frame assembly, including a seat bottom chassis including a plurality of leg modules and section assembly modules. The leg modules are attached to fixed, spaced-apart attachment points on a supporting surface, such as the deck of an aircraft fuselage. A plurality of beam elements are carried by the leg modules and section assembly modules. A plurality of clamp joints are provided for being positioned on the plurality of leg modules and for receiving the plurality of beam elements in spaced-apart relation to each other for defining a ladder frame assembly having a specified width and seat spacing.
