  • Patent number: 6540299
Abstract: A vehicle seat and a seat headrest are adjustable to accommodate seat occupants of varying heights. The headrest, height and seat position are adjusted together by connecting the headrest drive motor and the seat drive motor to a single control switch. The headrest has a smaller total distance of travel in relation to the travel distance of the vehicle seat. The headrest motor may drive a thread with a smaller pitch. Alternatively, there may be employed pulse width modulation of the electrical power supplied by a common switch or a similar device to create a proportional relationship between the motion of the headrest and the vehicle seat.

Abstract: A seat device for a vehicle includes a seat slide device supporting a vehicle seat relative to the vehicle floor at a position that is slidably adjustable in a back and forth direction on the vehicle floor, a lock plate engageable with the seat slide device to hold the seat at a position on the vehicle floor, a release lever rotatably supported on the seat slide device for releasing engagement of the lock plate with the seat slide device to permit sliding movement of the vehicle seat, and a walk-in mechanism having a hold lever for engaging the release lever to control rotation of the release lever when the release lever engages the lock plate. The rotation of the hold lever pivotally supported on the seat slide device is controlled by the engagement between the lock plate and the seat slide device so that when the lock plate is out of engagement with the seat slide device and the vehicle seat moves forwardly, rotation of the hold lever is permitted.

Abstract: In an arrangement for a seat (2) in a vehicle, the seat is movable in a longitudinal direction along a plane (33) which slopes relative to the horizontal plane. The subframe of the seat (2) consists of devices (30, 31) fastened respectively to the vehicle and to the seat, which devices consist of two substantially similar triangular supporting frames. Resetting between a predetermined driving position and a likewise predetermined resting position is made possible by a control device (16) which is fastened to the device (30) which is itself fastened to the vehicle, which control device cooperates with a locking device fastened to the seat so that during a relocating movement between forward and rear positions of the seat the locking device (17) becomes free from at least one locking position between the vehicle seat and the device (30) fastened to the vehicle.
