Abstract: A walker having an expandable seat adapted to accommodate users of varying body sizes to enter the walker and get in and out of the seat. The walker comprises a front cross bar having two tubular ends, and two side frames rotatably connected to each of the tubular ends of the front cross bar, so that the side frames can be rotated inward and outward with respect to the front cross bar. A telescopic upper crossbar is mounted between the side frames at the upper horizontal tubing for limiting the angular movement of the side frames when a desired position has been selected. The expandable seat includes a tubular rear end, to which a pair of seat support rods are slidably mounted. A bracket is rotatably attached to each of the sliding rods for engaging the side braces of the side frame when the seat is folded down in the horizontal position.
Abstract: A unit for automatically guiding a vehicle along a rail comprising an arm (2) hingedly mounted, via a universal joint, to an end (3) of a chassis. The arm (2) includes, at a front end thereof, a mechanism for rolling (7, 8) along a rail (9) which comprises a pair of rollers (35, 36) mounted in a V-shaped configuration to encompass the rail (9) by lateral rolling engagement along each flank of the rollers. The unit is also provided with an arm raising mechanism, a mechanical coupling to the steering mechanism of the vehicle and various sensors. The invention is primarily applicable for the manufacture and use of urban public transport vehicles.
Abstract: A confining device couch converter which converts a seat cushion of a couch into a confining device for a resting baby. The confining device includes a sheet portion, which is flat, for covering a portion of the seat cushion where the baby rests. A wedge positioned along a perimeter of the sheet portion provides a barrier so that the baby does not fall onto the floor. An attaching portion connects the sheet portion to the seat cushion so that the confining device is secured to the seat cushion.
Abstract: An infant crib in the form of a front panel to which is pivotally connected at each end thereof a side panel. The side panels are of a substantially greater height than the front panel. Each side panel is to be wedged along the side of a seat cushion of a couch or chair until the front panel is located directly adjacent the front edge of the cushion thereby forming an enclosed area to confine an infant when located on the top surface of the cushion.
