  • Publication number: 20110278907
Abstract: A concrete or asphalt profiling apparatus which operates without the use of a wetting agent includes a housing that encloses a plurality of diamond-tipped blades mounted to an arbor and adapted for high-speed rotation, and a suction device in communication with an area enclosed by the housing and configured to generate a suction force so to remove non-wetted dust generated during a profiling operation. During the profiling operation, a mixture of non-wetted dust and air can be drawn from the housing through a conduit and into a container by means of the suction device. An internally supported filter membrane extending into the container separates the concrete dust from the air in the mixture such that a portion of the concrete dust falls into a lower chamber and a portion of the concrete dust cakes on the filter membrane. The apparatus further includes a compressed air port that is adapted to selectively expel compressed air toward the filter membrane to dislodge concrete dust caked thereon.

Abstract: Self-propelled road milling machine with a milling drum housing including a side with a power take-off to transmit rotational motion to a milling drum mounted in an axially sliding way and replaceable from the side opposite the side of the power take-off. The milling drum is rotated by a reduction gear. The reduction gear is mounted at the end of a hollow spacer. A transmission shaft is present in the hollow spacer. The hollow spacer connects the wall of the housing on the side of the power take-off to a support flange of the reduction gear, which is connected to a spacer. The spacer engages a movable flange of the reduction gear, and connects to fastening elements and the support on the wall of the housing. The support flange and the hollow spacer are static with respect to the rotary movement of the milling drum.

  • Patent number: 7370916
Abstract: A rear-loader road milling machine with a milling roll, which is arranged in a roller housing open on the bottom, and having an opening between a front part of the roller housing and a road surface, that faces in a direction of travel, which can be closed with a sealing device, the height of which can be altered. The sealing device can be pivoted around an axis in front of the milling roll for the purpose of adjusting the height of the sealing device. As a result of the pivotability of the sealing device on an axis, it becomes possible to pull the sealing device slidingly above the road surface so that it follows any unevennesses, for example, waviness of the road surface or existing milling tracks, following these unevennesses by pivoting frontward and backwards. Interruption or even blocking of the advance by jamming is excluded in this way. The sealing device also provides safe protection against milled material thrown forward.

  • Patent number: 6948779
Abstract: A mining member designed as a cutting roller for a continuously operating surface miner for mining mineral raw materials of high strength. The roller body is equipped for this purpose with mini-disk bits of identical design. Since different conditions occur over the entire width of the roller during the separation of the material from the soil, the roller body is designed correspondingly, and the arrangement of the mini-disk bits is adapted to these conditions. The mini-disk bits in the edge areas are placed at a greater density than are the mini-disk bits (7) in the middle area. In addition, mini-disk bits are directed obliquely toward the outside as free-cutting bits at the two outer edges of the cutting roller. The height of the mini-disk bits is selected to be such that their individual virtual rolling paths together form a virtual cutting roller body, which comprises a middle cylinder, which is joined on both sides by outwardly tapering frusta.
