Abstract: A dirt contouring and grading device final grading of a soil bed prior to sodding includes a vehicle, which in turn comprises a frame, a plurality of wheels, and a propulsion unit so that the vehicle is self-propelled. A deck that is engaged to the frame has a drum engaged thereto. The drum is operationally coupled to an actuator that is powered to selectively effect axial rotation of the drum against a surface upon which the vehicle is positioned. A first biaser is powered to selectively raise, lower, and angle the deck relative to the frame to create flat sections, gentle hills, and mounds in a soil bed. A second biaser is powered to selectively effect longitudinal rotation of the drum relative to the deck to direct excess soil selectively to one side or the other of the vehicle.

The toolholders (3) present congruent reference element (4, 4′, 4″) that engage the through slots (2).

  • Patent number: 6718660
Abstract: A motorized road-going vehicle for making trenches may include on its chassis a device for digging a trench using a trenching wheel and a device for sucking and collecting the spoil produced while the trench is being dug. The trenching wheel is mounted so that it can pivot about an axis orthogonal to the chassis so as to occupy a working position projecting from the chassis and a transport position brought up onto the chassis.

  • Patent number: 6719485
Abstract: A concrete rubblizing apparatus includes a non-circular multi-lobed roller connected to an axle on a wheeled frame such that the roller rolls upon the ground and the frame is towed by a tractor. Each lobe of the roller includes a set of cleats extending across a width of the roller and projecting outwardly from the impact surface of each lobe along a line parallel to the axle. The method of rubblizing includes moving the roller over a predetermined area of concrete along four, sequential overlapping paths.

  • Patent number: 6626500
Abstract: A rotary drum cutting head (40) has pair of rotary drums (16, 18) which present a plurality of cutting implements (42) adapted for milling rock or other excavatable terrain, and a hydraulic motor (46) centrally disposed between the pair of rotary drums (16, 18). The hydraulic motor (46) has a rotatable output shaft (50) to which the drums (16, 18) arm rigidly and directly connected at opposed driven ends (83) of the shaft (50) the opposed driven ends (83) extending in opposite directions from the hydraulic motor (46) in longitudinal alignment with the rotational axis (20) of the rotary drum (16, 18) and rotatably supporting the rotary drums (16, 18).

  • Patent number: 6386641
Abstract: A design is disclosed for promoting the formation of weld between a first member and a second member whereby a fin is introduced at the outer corner portion of the first member to minimize the creation of defects such as runout or rollover. While such a design is applicable to any industrial welding operation, this design is of particular interest for welding bases or bit blocks holding cutting bits onto rotatable drums, wheels or chains used in construction or mining operations.
