Abstract: A cigar cutting apparatus has a circular body with a front housing and a rear housing, a left cutting blade assembly, a right cutting blade assembly, a blade opening actuator. A scissors mechanism communicates between the actuator and the blade assemblies and is adapted to retain the blade assemblies in the closed state and to selectably allow the blade assemblies to move to the open state. The front housing has a cigar-receiving through-hole and the rear housing has a cigar-impeding closed back wall.

Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to an apparatus and method for creating pixelated artwork composed of coloring element pixels. In some embodiments, a system converts the millions of pixels and colors of a digital image to a simplified color template with numbers assigned to particular colors. In one embodiment, a plastic grid is configured to cover the color template and receives crayons whose arrangement is determined by the numbers/colors of the color template.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cigarette cutter for cutting cigarettes. The cigarette cutter includes a housing assembly with a base portion and sidewall portion surrounding the base portion that together form a cavity wherein the base portion is coupled to a spring assembly and the spring assembly is coupled to a plunger assembly through a guide rail. The plunger assembly includes a base plate coupled to a cutter assembly that includes a blade that extends a distance from the base of the plunger assembly. In addition, formed along the sidewall portion is an aperture and coupled with the aperture is a cigarette receiving plate for receiving a cigarette and the receiving plate includes a groove or slot that runs vertical to the cigarette. The plunger when compressed extends the blade through the aperture and through the cigarette and to the bottom of the groove or through the slot so as to provide a clean cigarette cut.

Abstract: A suture cutting device including a housing, a cutting member, a suture recess, and an actuator. The cutting member is positioned in the housing. The suture recess is formed in the housing and configured to releasably connect the housing to the suture. The actuator is accessible outside of the housing and operable to move the cutting member laterally relative to the suture within the housing from a first position out of contact with the suture to a second position cutting the suture.

Abstract: An apparatus has a housing that has a first section and a second section. The first section has a first compartment for storing a cigarette and a second compartment for containing a cutting device having a blade. The first compartment is sealed from the second compartment. A slide button on the housing allows the user to move the cutting device within the second compartment. The second section has an opening and a hollow interior that are sized to allow a user to insert a portion of a cigarette through the opening and into the hollow interior. A user inserts the used portion of a cigarette into the opening and hollow interior and then uses the slide button to move the blade into the hollow interior to cut off the used portion of the cigarette. The user then places the remaining portion of the cigarette in the first compartment.

Abstract: Cigar cutter (1) includes a housing (2) that has a cutting opening (3), a first movable blade module (4), and a second movable blade module (5) relative to the housing between a closed configuration, in which the blades (19, 23) of the blade modules close the cutting opening, and an open configuration, in which the blades of the blade modules release the cutting opening, whereby a locking mechanism is able, in a locked state, to keep the blade modules within the closed configuration, and, in an unlocked state, to allow the blade modules to switch to the open configuration. The blade modules are able to move toward one another from the closed configuration to an actuation configuration, whereby the locking mechanism is able to switch from the locked state to the unlocked state and vice versa during the switching from the closed configuration to the actuation configuration.

Abstract: A rotary cutter assembly for a lighter comprises a lighter body which is defined with a receiving groove in an outer periphery thereof. A rotary plate is pivoted to the receiving groove in such a manner that the rotary plate can be rotated within the receiving groove. In the receiving groove is disposed a push pole, and on the rotary plate is provided an annular cutter. When the rotary plate is closed, the push pole is inserted in the annular cutter.

Abstract: A desktop cigar cutter comprises a cutting blade assembly which can pivot in and out of a cutting-blade-assembly receiving groove of a base, on the base is further provided a control assembly for engaging with the cutting blade assembly. Between the base and the cutting blade assembly is disposed an elastic assembly with both ends pushing against the base and the cutting blade assembly, respectively. When the control assembly is disengaged from the cutting blade assembly, the cutting blade assembly will be pivoted upward into a stand-up position under the effect of the pushing force of the elastic assembly.

Abstract: Controlling the performance of the thermionic tube (102) having a cathode (103), a plate (104) and a grid (105) is disclosed. The tube is configured to provide amplification of an audio derived signal (106) and is arranged to apply a grid bias voltage to the grid. The absence of an input audio signal is detected whereafter output current between cathode and plate is measured to identify actual output current. The actual output current is compared against a preferred output current and the grid bias voltage is adjusted so as to bring the actual output current value towards the preferred output current value.

Abstract: A device for cleaving optical fibers having a housing with an internal chamber, a fiber alignment member removably connected to the housing and a fiber cutting member supported by the housing. The alignment member has an opening sized to receive the ferrule of a fiber optic connector and has a stop proximate to the inward end of an opening to engaged the ferrule distal end. The alignment member is quickly interchangeable with another sized and arranged to handle the ferrule of a different type or size connector. The opening is sized to receive ferrule with an optical fiber to be cleaved, and permits the fiber to extend inward beyond the inward end of the opening and into the housing internal chamber.

Abstract: A cable-stripping tool includes two parts that can be moved linearly in relation to each other, each of the parts including an opening which can accommodate a cable when the openings are in mutual alignment. The first part carries a cutting blade and has a support arrangement with a ring that, when rotated about an axis, adjusts a cutting depth of the blade. A spring element functions to bias the parts in a direction away from each other, while enabling the two tool parts to be brought together against the spring bias by a user squeezing with only one hand so that the cable to be stripped can be inserted into the tool intermediate the two ends to which force is applied.

Spring means (5) function to bias the parts (1, 2) in a direction away from each other, so as to enable the two tool parts (1, 2) to be brought together against the spring bias in mutual positions in which the cable to be stripped can be inserted into the tool.

Abstract: This invention provides cutter/lighter combination devices wherein the cutter is equipped with a blade attached to a holder that moves on a track. The end of the blade holder distal from the blade edge protrudes from a notch in the side of the case. When the protruding portion of the blade carrier is pushed forward in the direction of the case, the blade moves forward across the aperture to cut any object which has been inserted into the aperture. The blade edge may be any shape, so long as the cutting edge is not present in the aperture in the absence of pressure on the blade carrier to force the blade edge to move the blade across the aperture.

Abstract: A cigar holder with a cutter comprising a hollow cigar-shaped body having a closed bottom and an open top, a hollow cap threadably engageable with the top of the body, the cap having a pair of substantially opposing slots therethrough, and a pair of cigar tip cutting members, each cigar tip cutting member having a cutting portion having a cutting edge thereon. Each of the cigar cutting members is slidably positioned in one of the slots such that the cutting edges are positioned substantially opposite one another in the hollow cap. A handle portion is preferably hinged to the cutting portion of each of the cigar tip cutting members, with each handle portion being positioned outside of the cap. The handle portions are preferably provided with a gripping tip for facilitating manual movement of the cigar tip cutting member in relation to the cap. The cap preferably has a pair of recesses formed in an outer wall thereof.

Abstract: A cigar cutter and lighter storage device for cutting off an end of a cigar is disclosed. The device has a tubular body with a first end for receiving a disposable lighter and a collar which removably secures the lighter within the body. A cutter element is secured in a second end of the tubular body. The cutter element has first and second opposed side elements and a cutting member, or knife, pivotally engaged between the first and second side members. The first and second side members define an opening for receiving the end of the cigar. The cutting member is pivotally rotated from a first, or open, position to a second, or closed, position in an arcuate manner through the opening, whereby the end of the cigar is cut.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cutter for cutting the tip off a cigar. The cutter has a flat housing with mutually aligned openings which are arranged on a wide side of the housing and form a through-opening for inserting the cigar. The cutter further includes at least one flat blade 6 which is arranged in the housing and has lateral sliding surfaces 6a, 6b which are guided in an essentially straight path between corresponding mutually parallel guide surfaces 2a, 2b disposed in the housing. Also disposed in the housing is a resilient element 2 which is biased against one of the sliding surfaces 6a of the blade . The blade 6 can be moved with a handle 6c to slide the blade edge 6d into the plane of the through-opening. The resilient element has the form of a leaf spring 8 with a nose-shaped projection 9 which lockingly and releasably engages with a groove 6e formed in the sliding surface 6a of the blade when the blade (6, 7) is retracted.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cigar holder provided with a detachable tip-cutting knife and a plug-removing member inside a cap of the holder. The knife has an inwardly extending portion and exterior portion hinged together and secured within a slot formed in the cap. The exterior portion lies flat in the recess formed in the cap, while the interior portion extends perpendicularly to the exterior portion, transversely to the cap opening. The plug-removing member is fixedly attached to the interior of the cap. It is adapted to pierce through the end of the cigar and remove a small portion of the cigar thereby forming a distinct channel for penetration of the tobacco smoke to the end of the cigar.

Abstract: A combination ball mark repair tool, golf club support and cigar cutter. The invention includes a prier for prying up ball marks which are depressions made particularly in golf greens by impacting golf balls. The prier includes a shank ending, in a pair of tines which are used to penetrate turf and pry up depressions in the turf. The prier is pivotally connected to an end of a handle for leverage, the handle defining a slot for retracting the prier. A push pin controls a detent which locks the shank in either a fully opened position or a fully retracted position. Depressing the push pin unlocks the shank. When the shank is unlocked, a torque spring urges the shank to pivot from its handle slot to its open position. The prier preferably has two tines to avoid damage to the turf. Inserting the tines into the turf at the edge of a ball mark and then pivoting the handle toward the surface causes the tines to raise the depressed turf, thereby repairing the ball mark.

Abstract: A cigar cutting device includes three cutting units with different sizes and the three cutting units are threadedly and telescopically connected with each other. Each cutting unit has a sharp edge defined in a distal end thereof. A push rod has the first end thereof extending through the cutting device and the second of the push rod has an end member located outside of the cutting device. A spring is mounted to the push rod and is biased between an annular flange of the central cutting unit and a flange of the push rod so that the push rod can be pushed from the end member to push the cigar form the cutting unit and returns to its original position by the spring.

Abstract: A collapsible cigar corer tool assembly is disclosed having a body and a collapsible cigar corer including at least one cutting aperture with a fixed, circumferential, cutting blade. The cap of a cigar is prepared for coring an opening by urging the cap against the cutting blade and by rotating the cigar relative to the aperture. The cigar corer is mounted on the tool assembly such that it pivots between two positions, a first closed position in which the cutting aperture is housed within the body, and a second open position in which the cutting aperture is in an operative position outside the body.

Abstract: A finger-operated refuse-retaining cigar head cutter comprising a body member, an opening in one side of the body member sized to permit insertion of a cigar head to be cut, and refuse-retention structure in the body member opposite said opening, a cutting blade track in the body member, and a finger-operated cutting blade slidably disposed and retained in the track, the finger-operated cutting blade being moveable from an extended position to a closed position between the opening and the refuse-retention structure, whereby, upon inserting a cigar head into the opening and into the refuse-retention structure and cutting the head of the cigar by bringing the finger-operated cutting blade from an extended position into the closed position, the cigar head is cut and refuse from cutting the cigar head is retained in the refuse-retention structure by the cutting blade until the cutting blade is moved out of the closed position.

Abstract: A tower guillotine cigar end cutter has spaced twin towers with an upper crossbeam on a base, with a moveable cutter block and blade that is raised vertically by a rope, between the towers. Upon release, the cutting blade and block falls on a lower block having a channel for the blade, thereby cutting the end off a cigar. The cutter block has adjacent half-circle openings for receiving a cigar end. The moveable cutter block when raised by a rope is released when a release mechanism on the rope, contacts the crossbeam. A locking device locks the cutter block from being vertically moved from the lower block, when not in use.

Abstract: Presented is a cigar cap-cutting and ejection tool provided with a very sharp circular cutting edge susceptible of being pressed into the cap-end of a cigar to thereby define the configuration of the central cigar cap-end portion to be cut from and withdrawn from the cigar by the tool. Plunger members are provided in the tool manipulable from the end opposite the circular cutting edge for ejecting the cut central cap-end portion of cigar from within the tool.

Abstract: A planar elongate cigarette snipping device for removing the burnt end of a partially-smoked cigarette to expose fresh tobacco for relighting the cigarette, includes a pair of planar knife blades which are moved from a rest position to an operative position in which they overlap in an aperture through the device, activated by a corresponding pair of arms which are normally biased to the rest position.
