Patent number: 6123972Abstract: This invention is a tray having a plurality of parallelly disposed open topped, open ended channels. These channels are filled with a mixture to be cooked and a cutting, shaping and dispatching knife is used to remove any excess mixture from the tops and ends of the channels. The knife is then turned over where the blade has a plurality of grooves formed therein to allow the knife to cut the mixture laterally in each channel simultaneously. The blade is then moved longitudinally toward the end of the channels to dispatch the cut mixture from the channels into a cooking medium. Indicia are included on the channels to allow even amounts of mixture to be dispensed each time such mixture is cut.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1997Date of Patent: September 26, 2000Inventors: Jesse J. Patent number: 4386465Abstract: Apparatus for cutting frozen food is supported on a table provided with a series of grasping members surrounding the food and resiliently urged inwardly so that when a vertically reciprocable cutting blade cuts the frozen food, the severed pieces of food are restored to their original positions so that a subsequent cut made in an angularly related position in the food will subdivide the food in equal portions. A series of press plates are mounted for vertical movement with the cutting blade to resiliently bear against the top of the food while being cut to prevent upward tilting of the pieces being severed.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1981Date of Patent: June 7, 1983Inventor: Norio Ezaki

Patent number: 4299148Abstract: A method for cutting and maintaining in separate segments a gummous comestible, comprising the steps of: (a) positioning a disk-like template above the comestible, the template having a plurality of radiating extending slots; (b) positioning a cutting tool above one of the slots; (c) folding a sheet of wax-like material over the cutting edge of said tool and about both sides thereof; (d) simultaneously holding each side of said wax-like sheet against the sides of the tool and pressing said closely held sheet and tool into the gummous comestible; (e) withdrawing the cutting tool while permitting the material, as a result of the friction and surface tension of said gummous comestible thereagainst, to remain in the gummous comestible; and (f) repeating each of the above steps for each of the radiating extending slots of the template through which a corresponding cut and placement of the wax-like sheet material is desired, whereby a separation into segments, in accordance with the relative position of each of theType: GrantFiled: April 6, 1978Date of Patent: November 10, 1981Inventor: Gerard B. Patent number: 4297932Abstract: An apparatus for slicing a cheesecake into a plurality of neatly cut pie-shaped slices of equal size. It includes a cutting cylinder having a plurality of tensioned cutting wires each extending diametrically across the lower end of the cylinder. The wires are tied at their one ends to retaining pins and at their other ends to guitar tuning peg assemblies at respective annularly spaced, equally distant locations about the cylinder. The cutting cylinder is attached with releasable latches beneath a similar size guide cylinder, in end to end relation. The cutting and guide cylinders are suspended from a U-shaped yoke with their common central axis extending vertically. The side edges of the yoke slidably engage respective vertical tracks which extend from a horizontal planar base. The cutting cylinder can be vertically reciprocated about its vertical axis into and out of close proximity with the base.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 1980Date of Patent: November 3, 1981Assignee: John J. Wells, Jr.Inventors: John J. Wells, Jr., Donald R. Kleine
