With Cut Regulator Patents (Class 30/200)
  • Patent number: 11919181
Abstract: The invention relates to a comb (100) for being attached to a hair-cutting device (115). The comb includes two surfaces (103, 104) to be in contact with the skin of the user. Each surface includes a slot (105, 106) for attaching the comb to the hair-cutting device, and both surfaces have a common edge (107). When the hair-cutting device is attached to the slot of the first surface, the second surface is in contact with the skin, and when the hair-cutting device is attached to the slot of the second surface, the first surface is in contact with the skin. An asymmetric arrangement of the two slots allows for two cutting lengths of hair with one double-sided comb.

  • Patent number: 11857054
Abstract: A split end removal comb. This comb includes an outer shell which houses an inner shell of similar shape but smaller dimensions, and a handle, which houses an electromechanical assembly. The inner comb can slide to a lock position inside the upper part of the outer comb, whereby the hair can be stretched away from the scalp and bent into divided strands. In this position, the blades mounted on the teeth of the inner comb, which can be powered by a motor, can be activated through a shaft running through the perpendicular axis of the device thereby trimming the tips of the hair, as it is being combed by the user. During operation, the hair goes through channels created by the multi-planar arrays of a plurality of teeth, ridges, and blades arranged along various angles and distances. This results in a safe and easy trimming of split ends.

Abstract: A shaving implement has a guard provided to fit over a blade retaining cartridge of a razor configured for wet shaving. The guard has a frame defined by top and bottom rails, spaced by first and second side edges, and elongated members defining a grate. The elongated members have outwardly extending barbs configured to arrange facial hair during a shaving process. The guard is secured over the blade retaining cartridge of the razor. When disposed over the blade retaining cartridge, the grate portion of the guard spaces any blades retained in the cartridge from the surface of a user's skin while still leaving such blades at least partially exposed to the user's facial or body hair. This enables a user to trim, rather than fully shave, his hair and further protects the user's skin from the harmful effects of close shaving.

Abstract: Disclosed is a comb-vibration preventing structure for a hair cutter including a cutter body and a cutting-length adjusting comb adapted to be fitted on an upper portion of the cutter body and vertically moved in a sliding manner so as to adjust a cutting length. The comb-vibration preventing structure comprises a wire spring for urging each of opposite inner side surfaces of the cutting-length adjusting comb in an outward thrusting manner in an opposite lateral direction. The comb-vibration preventing structure can prevent vibrations of the cutting-length adjusting comb to reduce chatter noises, and achieve enhanced usability while facilitating quality control.

  • Publication number: 20030079351
Abstract: A deflectable safety shield extends transversely across a cutting plane in a protective guard position completely overlying the cutting edge of a utility knife. A portion of the shield extends over-center with respect to the cutting edge, thereby tending to hold the shield in the guard position in response to contact of the shield against the operator at the normal angle of engagement during follow-through that accompanies rapid slicing hand movements. The shield is resiliently biased for movement to the guard position by a torsion spring. An outwardly-turned flange portion of the shield provides an angularly offset leverage point for reacting the torsion spring when the operator desires to perform a cutting operation. The shield swings away from the cutting plane automatically in response to pressure engagement of the offset flange portion against the box surface, thus exposing the cutting edge.
