And Friction Reducing Feature Patents (Class 30/222)
  • Patent number: 11613032
Abstract: A shearing head for an animal shearing machine, comprising an upper blade and a lower blade, whereby the upper blade is movable relative to the lower blade. A pressure control device, comprising a rotatable control knob, with which the pressure of the upper blade on the lower blade is settable. The pressure control device further comprises a pressure indicator pin disposed coaxially with respect to the control knob and movable in a translational way. The pressure indicator pin is at least partially visible to a user of the shearing head and the axial position of the pressure indicator pin relative to the control knob is dependent upon the pressure of the upper blade on the lower blade set with the pressure control device.

  • Patent number: 4577408
Abstract: A hair-cutting device comprises a stationary cutter; and a drivable cutter reciprocatingly movable with respect to the stationary cutter, each cutter being provided with teeth extending substantially at right angles to the driving direction. Each tooth of the drivable cutter is formed at the free end of a flexible arm, the respective flexible arms being spaced from each other to provide a slot between each pair of adjacent flexible arms. A rigid pressure element is located adjacent to and within the range of elastic deflection of the free ends of the respective flexible arms. The opposite end of each flexible arm is connected to a common cutter beam, the respective flexible arms and the cutter beam being integrally formed in one piece from a flexible sheet material.

  • Patent number: 4075760
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a battery operated power grass shear wherein a fixed blade and a superimposed laterally oscillating movable blade have forwardly projecting, laterally spaced cutting teeth, the planes of said blades being tilted convergently relative to each other in the forward direction, the teeth of the upper and lower blades contacting each other only at the cutting edges thereof during cutting movements, and each tooth of the movable blade beginning its cutting stroke at a different time in each cutting cycle.

  • Patent number: 3934340
Abstract: Pairs of planar cutting blades with angularly related cutting edges such as are used in grass shears, and the like, and which are mechanically actuated to move relative to each other and to cut by a scissors-like action are formed in a manner such that during each cutting action the contacting cutting point between each pair of coacting edges moves at a uniform speed. The improved blade construction finds application in shears, particularly cordless, i.e., battery, grass shears, by more nearly equalizing incremental power requirements; by reducing the maximum input power requirements; and by increasing time of performance between battery recharging at a given forward advancement speed of the shear.
