Abstract: A pruner having a housing, a motor mounted in the housing, a handle, an upper blade, a lower blade, and a guide apparatus. The guide apparatus is a long shaped piece with a portion that has the same angle of curvature as one of the blades. The guide apparatus is longer than one of the blades to allow the guide apparatus to assist a user in selecting a specific tree limb to be cut thereby minimizing the unintentional removal of an incorrect tree limb. The guide apparatus may also be removed if the pruner is going to be used to cut lower limbs or in confined spaces.

Abstract: The invention relates to a hand machine-tool, especially electrical shears, comprising a housing (13) provided with a tool head (14) and a grip part (15), an electric motor (18) arranged in the housing (13), a switch (22) for the electric motor (18), and a drive shaft (16) mounted in the tool head (14), transversally to the housing axis. Said drive shaft can be driven by the electric motor (18) by means of a transmission (19). The hand machine-tool also comprises a rotary tool (11) that can be fixed to the drive shaft (16). The aim of the invention is to create a compact, structurally small and lightweight hand machine-tool for work without generating fatigue. To this end, a small-volume, rechargeable energy accumulator, preferably a lithium ion accumulator (20), which feeds the electric motor (18) and has a high charging capacity, is arranged in the grip part, together with an electronic plate (21) and the switch.

Abstract: An improved pole pruner for pruning a limb from a tree is provided which includes structure which grabs or grasps that portion of the tree limb to be detached as the cutting blade of the pole pruner severs the tree limb from the tree thereby preventing the severed tree limb from falling downwardly and injuring the operator of the pole pruner. The operator of the pole pruner may maneuver the pole pruner to a location wherein it is safe to release the severed tree limb from the pole pruner.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a switch-operating mechanism. In particular, the present invention relates to a switch-operating mechanism for a power tool, such as a pruning tool. Described is a switch-operating mechanism for a powered tool including a working head having first and second cutter members. The switch-operating mechanism further includes a lever moveable between first, second, and third operative positions. In operation, positioning of the lever in the first operative position provides a ‘power off mode’ in which the power supply is disconnected; movement of the lever into the second operative position causes the at least one of the cutter members to move to a first blade position; and movement of the lever into the third operative position causes the at least one of the cutter members to move to a second blade position.
