Abstract: A grooming device includes a cutting arrangement for cutting hair that grows in or at the nostrils and/or the ear channels of the head of a human being. This cutting arrangement includes a shielding element and a cutting element including a driving member supported in the shielding element only for rotation about an axis relative to the shielding element. The cutting arrangement is mounted on a housing of the device for movement in unison into and out of the housing between an extended and a retracted position and back. In the extended position, a lug received, after turning of the shielding element about the axis, in a confining recess of the housing, arrests the cutting arrangement in its extended position. Alternatively, a pin passing through a C-shaped through recess in the housing to the exterior of the latter serves the same purpose.
Abstract: A disposable razor device for cutting and trimming hair in the nostril passages. The device comprises a hollow, tubular, body member having a dome-shaped end for insertion into the nasal opening, and an opposite end provided with an enlarged base for rotating the body. A pair of inserts are included, each of which has a pair of razor blades formed therein, the inserts being oppositely disposed from each other, and arranged with one pair of razors positioned clockwise and the other pair of razors positioned counter-clockwise, whereby hair can be cut and trimmed by rotating the body of the device with a back-and-forth motion. The device further includes a removable cover.
Abstract: The knuckle guard has a shield adapted for removable or permanent attachment to the grip portion of a baseball bat. An elongated, rigid strap is attached to the periphery of the shield and also to the bat, spanning the batter's hands to shield them from being struck by an inside pitch.
Abstract: A disposable, or one-time-use microsurgical knife has a slidable shroud that can be moved into a forward position to protect the blade, and can be moved rearwardly to allow use of the knife. The shroud, as well as other parts of the knife, are made of plastic, and a phosphorescent material is included to render the knife luminescent during steps taken in a darkened operating room. The extremely sharp razor chip blade includes a shank selectively wedged into the knife body so blades are interchangeable.

Abstract: A housing for a chain saw which is a clamshell type having a support section and a cover section. The cover section has a lower section which is at least three times wider than the width of the support section. The cover section has stiffening ribs formed on the underside of the wide lower section. Fastening means enterconnect the support section and the cover section.

Abstract: A piece of cutlery which is designed to assist people such as children who are unfamiliar with cutlery, how to use it effectively and correctly. The piece of cutlery has a recess in the upper surface of the handle in the region where the handle and operative portion, e.g. the knife blade or fork prongs, of the piece of cutlery join. This recess is centered on the longitudinal center line of the piece of cutlery and is of a size to accommodate and locate the tip of the user's index finger in the effective and correct position for the user of the piece of cutlery. Also it is of sufficient depth to prevent accidental displacement of the tip of the finger during normal usage of the piece of cutlery. Preferably, the handle is S-shaped when viewed from the left-hand side so that it fits snugly in the palm of a child's hand with the tip of the index finger positioned in the recess.
Abstract: A joint formed by interconnecting a frame, a handle and a handguard with a single fastener. The members are interlocked to each other to transfer any torque created by a force applied to the housing of the chain saw or one or more of the interconnected members. The handle and the handguard each have slabbed sides which coact to produce a wedge-like locking action therebetween.
Abstract: A tool for use in cutting parts of automotive components, such as exhaust systems, shock absorber units and the like, to facilitate removal and replacement of the components. The tool comprises a portable housing of a size and shape to be manually gripped by a user, an air motor within the housing including an output shaft extending generally longitudinally outwardly of one end thereof, a manually actuated trigger for selectively communicating a source of air under pressure with the air motor to operate the same and rotatably drive the output shaft, a thin cutting disc of abrasive material fixed concentrically on the shaft longitudinally in spaced relation with respect to the housing, and a protective shield structure molded of transparent rigid plastic material.
Abstract: A hairbrush is disclosed herein having an elongated handle with a body forwardly disposed thereof for carrying a plurality of bristles in a downwardly depending fashion. Outwardly projecting from opposite sides of the body, there is provided a contoured shield having an upwardly sweep developed from a fore-and-aft trough and terminating in an edge which diverges upwardly and outwardly from the forward end of the brush rearwardly towards the handle thereof. The shield further includes a skirt integrally formed with a forward portion of the shield just described which is downwardly flared to terminate in an arcuate trailing edge. The upper terminating edges of the skirt are outwardly flared in a reverse curve. A plurality of ribs are integrally formed at the intersection of the shield forward portion and the skirt portion which serve as heat sinks for the shield. A finger knob is carried on the body adjacent the area of contact with the handle for grasping by the thumb and first finger of the users hand.
Abstract: A cutter for cutting facial hair in the vicinity of the nose and ears employing a body portion having a cutting end with teeth upstanding therefrom and cutting means cooperating with the teeth to cut the hair which extends in between the teeth. The cutting means includes a coil rotatably carried within the housing which is rotated by the user when the cutter is placed in the vicinity of the nostril and ears to effect the cuttings of the hair lying in between the teeth.
Abstract: A hair cutting apparatus having a body carrying an electric motor operable to drive a cutter head. The cutter head has an elongated sleeve member having a plurality of longitudinally directed teeth around its forward open end forming an annular comb. A pair of blades mounted on a shaft rotated by the motor engage the inside surface of the teeth. Springs bias the blades into engagement with the teeth whereby the circular movement of the blades cuts hair extended between adjacent teeth.
