    Abstract: The punching tool of the subject invention has a handle and a hand grip which can be rotated to any position convenient for use, so that the punching operation can be performed easily, irrespective of the shape of the object being treated. The manual hydraulic pump of the tool is connected for rotation to one end of a tubular connector, while the other end of this tubular connector is connected to a hydraulic cylinder in such a manner that the tubular connector can be turned about an axis perpendicular to the axis of the hydraulic cylinder.

    Abstract: An identification device including a device body, a drive unit housed in the device body, a sliding dovetail shaped armature with a horizontal slot, a needle bar which is inserted into the armature and is secured by means of a spring loaded ball and screw. The armature moves in a vertical direction by means of its connection with a circular rotor attached to the drive unit. The rotor has at its rear end an offset pin which engages the horizontal slot located at the upper front portion of the armature, wherein the rotational movement of the circular rotor is translated into vertical motion of the sliding dovetail armature which assures that therre will be no horizontal displacement of the needle bar and thus achieving precise columnation of the needle bar and therefore precise application of the identification ink.

    Abstract: A dry wall and masonary cutting tool comprised of an interior cutting box, the interior cutting box having a plurality of forward facing teeth for cutting a dry wall panel, a pair of locating nails for precisely locating the interior cutting box with respect to an exterior cutting box and, a pair retaining clips for retaining the interior cutting tool in the receptacle and a center threaded passage for accepting a threaded connecting screw; an exterior cutting box, the threaded connecting shaft and hole cooperating to pull the interior and exterior box together to cut the hole in the dry wall material; and a compression spring to push the threaded connecting shaft to an outward position when not engaged in drilling. In operation, the interior cutting box is placed in a wall receptacle, the panel pressed into place, the exterior cutting box positioned on the locating nails, and a hole drilled through the panel.

    Abstract: A gasket punch of the instant invention includes a frame having a grip integrally formed therewith, a piston chamber located ahead of the grip, and a die platform spaced beneath the piston chamber, also ahead of the grip. The punch includes a fluid connector for connecting the punch to a pressurized fluid supply. A piston and shaft are mounted for reciprocating movement in the piston chamber and are operable to receive a punch element on the free end of the piston shaft. Punch and die elements are provided to form holes of various sizes. The punch and die elements are interchangeable. A resilient stripping element is provided for each punch element to remove the punched gasket material from the punch element. An adjustable bail and plural guide elements are provided to accurately position the punch relative the gasket material to be punched.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing spot welds from a sheet metal structure is shown. A fluid powered hand punch has a handpiece and an L-shaped extension forming a punch die. An elongated rod extends from a fluid piston within the handpiece to a punch bit, allowing the punch to be conveniently positioned over spot welds in diverse structures. An extension of the handpiece body guides and stabilizes the rod. Spot welds are removed by positioning the punch bit over the weld and entirely punching it out. A tapered punch bit engaging the metal along a partial perimeter of its front face is also shown.

    Abstract: A surgical instrument for ophthalmic use comprises a rigid elongated outer tubular member which terminates in a closed distal end immediately adjoining a distal side opening. A flexible elongated wire is arranged within the outer tubular member and extends in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the outer tubular member. The wire is axially movable within the outer tubular member and has a sharp distal end which is positioned in proximity to the distal side opening. The closed distal end of the outer tubular member is provided with an interior curvature which functions as a deflecting member to deflect the distal end of the wire so that the wire projects through the distal side opening at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the outer tubular member when the wire is moved axially toward the distal end of the outer tubular member.

    Abstract: A device for opening sealed food bags is mounted on the frame of an electric can opener. The device includes a serrated cutter wheel which is driven by the can opener motor. A guide surface on the frame guides the bag as it is being fed through the cutter wheel. A modified form of the invention includes a pair of idler discs which overlap the cutter wheel. In a third form of the invention, the cutter wheel is not driven, and a pivotal lever is used to maintain the bag against the cutter wheel as it is fed manually through the cutting mechanism.

    Abstract: A punching machine comprising a housing, a plunger having a punch at one end, and an electromechanical drive such as a solenoid carried by the housing and operatively connected to the plunger for driving the plunger in a direction along the longitudinal axis thereof when electrically energized to drive the punch into a workpiece and then withdraw the punch therefrom. The plunger is disposed in a housing passage in a manner permitting a degree of rocking movement of the plunger in a plane substantially parallel to the plunger longitudinal axis. A flexible guiding device in the form of a sleeve surrounding the plunger and an O-ring engaging the sleeve and the housing guides the plunger in a direction toward and away from the workpiece and also in the direction of the rocking movement. Electric current is supplied to the electromechanical drive by a circuit including a controlled rectifier connected in controlling relation to the drive and having a gate terminal connected to trigger pulse producing device.

    Abstract: A tattooing device is provided which includes a motor housing and a needle housing secured thereto. A motor and an eccentric drive structure driven by the motor are mounted in the motor housing. In addition, a needle shaft and tattooing needle are mounted for reciprocation in the needle housing and are driven to reciprocate by the eccentric drive structure in the motor housing. The needle housing has an opening at the lower end thereof through which the tattooing needle reciprocates, and a silicone rubber bushing is mounted in the needle housing and is provided with an opening through which the needle extends. The diameter of the bushing opening is less than the diameter of the opening in the lower end of the needle housing so that the bushing operates to constrain transverse movement of the reciprocating needle and thereby reduces noise, ink splatter, the tearing of skin, and improves line clarity.
