  • Publication number: 20150068644
Abstract: An apparatus, such as for tree trimming, includes a mobile carriage having a frame and a pedestal supported by the frame. The apparatus further includes a boom, such as a telescoping boom that is secured to the pedestal through a boom support. The pedestal is pivotable with respect to the carriage frame so that the boom may be selectively operated in a variety of orientations. The mobile carriage of the apparatus is sufficiently compact to fit though tight openings, while also being capable of stably supporting boom extension for operation of a distal end of the boom at elevated heights.

  • Patent number: 8836529
Abstract: A chain saw hazard warning light and method for using same. A pair of oppositely-directed light sources emit light beams throughout a chain shot hazard warning zone through rectilinear, slotted openings at opposite ends of a housing. The light beams turn on, if and only if, the cutting chain is rotating about the chain guide bar; alternatively, initiation of rotation of the cutting chain is delayed to permit the light beams to turn on some time prior thereto. The zone is defined by first and second pairs of planes that diverge in opposite directions from the chain guide bar, said planes being disposed at equal, acute angles (most preferably 15°) to, and on opposite sides of, a plane that includes the chain guide bar.

  • Patent number: 8099869
Abstract: A device and a method are disclosed for severing a bead of adhesive of a motor vehicle window pane. A cutting wire is firstly introduced into a gap between the window pane and the body flange, the cutting wire then being guided around the bead of adhesive, one first end of said cutting wire preferably being fixed outside the vehicle, preferably to the windshield wiper shaft, the second end of the cutting wire being inserted through the bead of adhesive and fixed to a winding device, and the bead of adhesive is severed by means of the cutting wire by reeling in the cutting wire with the aid of the winding device.

  • Publication number: 20110048579
Abstract: A mechanism designed to remove difficult to reach overhead tree branches. All power is derived from a standard 120 volt AC outlet. It is pneumatically controlled in 2- axes thru a main column containing one or a plurality of concentric cylinders and a separate air cylinder for height and elevation control. An electric powered saw is mounted at the end of the highest telescoping section. A pressure/vacuum pump provides the required force. Mobility is facilitated by three wheels, one of which is used to steer and position the saw into place for cutting. A control panel contains two pairs of pneumatic directional and pressure regulating valves for position control of a motorized saw blade by way of control over a main column and air cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20090272462
Abstract: A double chain saw arrangement which has diametrically oppositely extending chain saws powered by a single motor driving two sprockets on said hub, each engaged with an associated chain saw chains on each chain saw bar mounted to the hub. A series of hooked capture pieces project from one side of the chain saw bars in a plane parallel to the chain saw bars, which pieces act to cause brush and limbs to be captured and forced into contact with the saw chains to be cut thereby.

  • Patent number: 6176280
Abstract: A disc saw felling head has the cutting pocket positioned relative to the tooth entry opening into the housing such that chips being thrown out of the kerf by the teeth are thrown radially outwardly of the entry opening. The chips are thrown against a deflector plate which redirects them back toward the center but away from the disc to dissipate energy in the chips, reduce the directions in which chips are thrown, and reduce clogging of the housing.
