Patent number: 7401406Abstract: A main body of an inner blade is inserted into an inner blade insertion hole of an inner blade frame such that the main body can extend and retreat, a tip end cutting edge is pushed by a spring such that it comes into contact with an inner peripheral surface of a slit outer blade, the main body of the inner blade projecting outward from the inner blade insertion hole is bent rearward in a rotational direction, and the cutting edge of the inner blade is located rearward of the main body in the inner blade insertion hole in the rotational direction. With this configuration, the cutting edge does not fall forward in the rotational direction, and no gap is generated between the cutting edge and the inner peripheral surface of the slit outer blade.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2006Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: Matsushita Electric Works, Ltd.Inventors: Kazuhiro Morisugi, Toshio Ikuta, Yoshimichi Kosugi

Publication number: 20070193034Abstract: Disclosed is a hair clipper having a moving lower blade, in which the lower blade moves so that upper and lower blades reciprocate in opposite directions and cross each other. In the hair clipper, an eccentric cam is connected to a rotary shaft of a motor installed in a main body, and an eccentric shaft formed on the eccentric cam is inserted into a fixing groove formed in an upper blade fixing plate and vibrates horizontally, the lower blade is mounted on a blade support, such that the lower blade can move horizontally, and is fixed to one end of a link, the central portion of which is fixed to the blade support, and the other end of which is fixed to the lower surface of an upper blade fixing plate, to which an upper blade is fixed, and thus, when the upper blade fixing plate vibrates horizontally by the rotation of the motor, the lower blade vibrates on the blade support by the link in the direction opposite to the vibration of the upper blade.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2007Publication date: August 23, 2007Inventor: Tae-Jun Oh

Patent number: 6991217Abstract: In an oscillation type linear actuator for reciprocally moving a plurality of moving members held in parallel with each other in a predetermined direction owing to electromagnetic action between a stator and them, two moving members reciprocally moving in opposite phases with each other are coupled by a coupling member having spring function, and a non-displacing portion of a plate spring portion of the coupling member which is not displaced substantially is restricted by a stopper. Even when an external force is applied to one of two moving members reciprocally moving in the opposite phases each other, motion of the other moving member is transmitted to the moving member via the coupling member, so that reduction of amplitude of the moving member to which the external force is applied can be restricted, and a balance of amplitudes of two moving members is maintained.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2003Date of Patent: January 31, 2006Assignee: Matsushita Electric Works, Ltd.Inventors: Hiroaki Shimizu, Hidekazu Yabuuchi, Masashi Moriguchi, Noboru Kobayashi, Ryo Motohashi, Ryuji Otani

Publication number: 20030126744Abstract: By providing a dual cutting head module which is constructed for precisely cutting beards and mustaches in a wide variety of alternate widths using one cutting blade, while also trimming and cutting nose/ear hair using a second cutting blade, an easily employed, dependable, reliable, multi-purpose beard/mustache and nose/ear hair trimming system is achieved. In one embodiment, the dual cutting blade head member is constructed for removable mounted engagement with the support base, as well as being arcuately pivotable relative thereto, enabling either of the two desired cutting blades to be moved into the operating position whenever desired by the user. In an alternate embodiment, the dual cutting blade head member is mounted to the support base for pivotable movement only, enabling the desired multi-purpose use and operation to be provided, with reduced simplicity in manufacturing.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 7, 2003Publication date: July 10, 2003Inventors: Tung Yan Lau, John Wilcox

Publication number: 20030106219Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-purpose shaver which combines a moustache and beard shaver and a nasal hair trimmer in one casing. The multi-purpose shaver generally comprises a casing, a mini motor, a moustache and beard shaver and a nasal hair trimmer. The shaver rotary head can rotate in clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. If cleaning is desired, the shaver rotary head can be pulled out from the blade entrance of the shaver for cleaning. The moustache and beard shaver and the nasal hair trimmer each have a blade sheath. The invention is of simple and durable structure and is convenient to use, easy to clean and safe to use.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2002Publication date: June 12, 2003Inventor: Tung Yan Lau

Patent number: 6418622Abstract: The invention relates to a shaving apparatus comprising a first blade (1) and a second blade (3) having parallel cutting edges (5, 7) extending perpendicularly to a cutting direction X of the blades. The second blade follows the first blade, viewed in the cutting direction. According to the invention, the first blade comprises a blocking element (15) which is provided on a side surface (17) of the first blade at a distance (d) from the cutting edge (5) of the first blade, which distance (d) is much smaller than an average diameter of a hair (25) to be shaved by the apparatus, the first blade being periodically displaceable in the cutting direction by a displacing unit (11) of the apparatus from a first position, in which the cutting edge of the first blade is close to the cutting edge of the second blade, to a second position. In a prefered embodiment, said distance (d) ranges between 10 &mgr;m and 50 &mgr;m, and is in particular 30 &mgr;m.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1999Date of Patent: July 16, 2002Assignee: Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.Inventors: Andreas J.
