Having Pivotal Connection To Blade Patents (Class 30/527)
  • Patent number: 11897154
Abstract: The invention is directed toward a shaving razor system. The razor system has a handle and a razor cartridge. The handle has at least one skin interconnect member in pivotal relation to a proximal end portion of the handle. The razor cartridge has a housing, at least one blade, and at least one opening which extends through the housing. The razor cartridge is engaged with the skin interconnect member when the skin interconnect member is disposed within the opening securing the razor cartridge to the proximal end portion of the handle. The razor cartridge is in a pivotal relation with the handle, but not with the skin interconnect member. A pivot point of the razor system is desirably disposed near the front blade of the cartridge. Axes of movement in the razor system can be provided by different physical order of connections of razor components.

Abstract: A liquid dispensing hair removal device with a cartridge having at least one blade. The liquid dispensing hair removal device has a handle with a pair of opposing movable arms removably engaged to the cartridge. A dispensing unit is disposed within the handle. A cover is removably mounted to the handle. The cover has a closed position with a pair of cartridge retention members positioned between the pair of arms of the handle. The cartridge retention members contact the pair of arms preventing disengagement of the cartridge from the handle.

  • Patent number: 8819946
Abstract: A support arm that is rockably supported on one end of a grip portion and projects from the one end is provided. Both ends of a blade head are supported by the support arm such that the blade head can rock around an axis extending along a reciprocating direction of an inner blade, and an axial direction of the rocking motion of the support arm with respect to the grip portion is set in a direction intersecting with the reciprocating direction of the inner blade. This configuration achieves an electric shaver capable of increasing the movable range of the blade head while preventing a main body from increasing in size.

Abstract: A razor includes a handle and detachable blade cartridge. The end of the handle has a pivot sphere upon which the blade cartridge is rotatably mounted, with freedom to pivot around three axes of the handle, and otherwise holds its orientation relative to the handle. The blade cartridge is held to the pivot sphere by a clevis having recesses defined in at least the inner side surfaces of its legs. The recesses, together with the clevis, are sized to admit the pivot sphere between them and to hold the sphere therein once admitted. The clevis and/or the pivot sphere can be formed of a resilient injection molded plastic. The range of motion of the blade cartridge can be limited by forming one or more stops on the pivot sphere to interact with the clevis and thereby interrupt its free rotation.

  • Patent number: 8793880
Abstract: A shaving razor adapter used to attach a disposable shaving razor cartridge of a first shaving razor configuration to a shaving razor handle of a second shaving razor configuration. The shaving razor adapter includes a first attachment portion which resembles the connecting end of the shaving razor handle of the first shaving razor configuration. The first attachment portion attaches the adapter to the shaving razor cartridge of the first shaving razor configuration. The second attachment portion of the adapter resembles the connecting member of a shaving razor cartridge of a second shaving razor configuration that interfaces with the connecting end of the handle of the second shaving razor configuration. The second attachment portion of the adapter releasably attaches the adapter to the connecting end of the shaving razor handle of the second shaving razor configuration.

Abstract: A razor treatment system includes a razor having a head, and a razor treatment device including a drum rotationally supported within the razor treatment device, at least two cam members supported within the razor treatment device, at least two guide members configured to cooperate with the cam members to expose the blade, and a first actuating member configured to effect rotation of the drum. The head includes a cover for housing a blade. The cover is configured to expose the blade. The razor interfaces with the razor treatment device to move the cover of the razor to expose the blade. Each cam member may define a cam track that guides linear retraction of the blade, rotational movement of the blade and cover, and linear extension of the blade into a position between the drums.

  • Patent number: 8745876
Abstract: A safety razor includes a handle assembly elongated along a longitudinal axis, a blade head assembly pivotably connected to the handle assembly and having a first blade set thereon, the first blade set extending generally in parallel with the longitudinal axis. The blade head assembly can be releasably connected to the handle assembly to facilitate replacement. The blade head assembly can include a second blade set, the second blade set extending generally in parallel with the longitudinal axis, the first and second blade sets arranged facing away from each other such that the shaving direction of the blade head assembly can be altered by rotating the safety razor about the longitudinal axis. The safety razor can further include a biasing element for resisting pivotal motion of the blade assembly about the longitudinal axis and a control mechanism operable to selectively limit the pivotal motion of the blade head assembly.

Abstract: A shaving razor that offers a closer shave is provided. The shaving razor can include a biasing member producing a progressively increasing return torque on the razor cartridge that forces the cartridge into flat contact with the skin as the cartridge pivots, thus improving glide and shaving closeness. In addition, the shaving razor can include a razor handle configuration that reduces the propensity for the shaving razor to roll in a user's hand and improves the maneuverability of the razor cartridge during shaving.

  • Patent number: 8707561
Abstract: The present invention provides a shaving device that includes a handle for better control, and a stand that has a pad with sufficient surface area to comfortably compress and frictionally grip to tighten skin in relation to the working plane of one or more blades of the shaving device for smoother shave. The stand tightens the skin for closer shave, and compresses it below a level of existing hair growth, causing the hair follicles to protrude for even a better and closer shave. The stand further pushes the skin away from in-between the razor heads to diminish cuts and nicks, all for a closer shave.
