A sharpening apparatus in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention may include an applicator tray or other applicator means, and an abrasive material configured to abrade and sharpen the cutting surfaces of the electric shaver, when actuated.

Abstract: A cleaning device for a shaving apparatus includes a chassis supporting a cleaning container for receiving the shaving head region of the shaving apparatus. A detent device is movably suspended on the chassis and is biased by means of a resilient element toward a first end position in which the detent device fixedly secures a replaceable reservoir holding a supply of cleaning liquid to the chassis in a positive engagement relationship therewith.

A length-adjusting button is cooperatively associated with the connecting rod for adjusting the effective length of the connecting rod. The select shaving blade attachment may be selected from a disposable straight razor blade assembly and an electric razor head assembly. The shaving system may thus further comprise a power source-recharging base and the extendable handle assembly may comprise a rechargeable power source and electric circuitry. The rechargeable power source and electric circuitry function to selectively and electrically operate the electric razor head assembly.

A thumb-rest portion is located a short distance from the handle to facilitate use of a thumb to grip and tear away packaging. The tool can also be used to scrape off sticky price labels or to clean grime, while minimizing scratching due to its plastic construction. A flexible cap can be slipped over the blade portion to protect and keep it clean. The cap can be removed and placed in the handle when using the tool, and easily removed again by pushing down on either end of the cap to raise the opposite end for grasping. The blade and handle can be injection molded as one piece from a high strength plastic.

A guard/transfer roller supported for rotation on the razor head in advance of a lead blade provides a guard for the lead blade, forms a closure for a dispensing slot in the razor head, receives soap film from a wetted block of soap preparation disposed within the dispensing slot, and transfers soap film from the wetted block to and deposits it ahead of the lead blade and on the skin surface being shaved during a normal shaving process. A spring biased pusher disposed within the dispensing slot and which normally urges the block of soap preparation into engagement with the roller is manually withdrawn from the dispensing slot to facilitate replenishment of spent soap preparation.

A brush for grooming the eyebrow before and after trimming by the razor assembly is provided at the back end of the handle.

The shaver includes a shaving head having a cutting apparatus at one end and a generally circular surface normal to an opposing end for supporting the side of a user's hand during use. The shaver includes a rechargeable battery coupled to a male connector which extends through the support surface. The base member includes a socket which releasably mates with the male connector when the shaver is placed upon the base member. The socket is coupled to an electrical connector assembly for connecting the socket to a vehicle electrical receptacle for recharging the battery. The shaver may be actuated with an on/off button positioned on the body or, in an alternative embodiment, automatically upon removing the shaver from the base member.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a lubricating shaving aid on a shaving razor or a shaving cartridge to reduce frictional drag between a razor blade edge and a shaver's skin and to provide a lubricating film on the shaver's skin during wet shaving. The lubricating shaving aid comprises a water soluble component and a water insoluble component and is formed such that the water insoluble component is released as the water soluble component dissolves upon exposure to water. The invention further discloses a method for making the same from an aqueous dispersion of water, a water soluble component in solution, and a dispersion of a water insoluble component dispersed in the water and the solution of the water soluble component.

The display unit displays status information of the shaver and provides feedback to the user during shaving.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a razor for wet shaving having an integral holder. The integral holder allows the user of the razor to conveniently place the razor on a surface for temporary storage during shaving. The holder is preferably such so that it does not interfere with the actual use of the razor, but may be easily employed as desired to store the razor. One preferred embodiment of the holder consists of a plurality of legs which fold outward from the handle of the razor so that the razor may be stored in a standing position. A second preferred embodiment of the holder consists of a suction cup which is affixed to the body of the razor handle. This second preferred embodiment would be especially preferred among users who may wish to temporarily store the razor on a shower wall and could easily do so by attaching the suction cup to the shower wall.
