  • Patent number: 8950824
Abstract: A retainer plate for preventing or at least mitigating loosening of an axle nut of a vehicle. The retainer plate comprises a generally flat section of rigid material that couples to an axle nut in a non-rotatable fashion and to a portion of the wheel to maintain the axle nut in tight threaded engagement with the axle. The retainer plate can have a central bore that non-rotatably engages the axle nut and a radially outward feature that engages the wheel to prevent the axle nut from loosening.

  • Patent number: 6322158
Abstract: A lockable automobile wheel assembly (10) that is utilized to safely secure an automobile wheel (70), and especially an automobile spoked wheel (70). The assembly (10) consists of two major elements: a hub adapter (12) end a hub securing member (40), which is also referred to as a hex nut or spinner. The adapter (12) includes a circular section (14) having a center bore (16) from where projects outward a center hub (28). The hub adapter (12) is designed to be inserted and attached to a central hub (74) centrally located and attached within the confines of the automobile wheel (70). Once attached, the center hub (28) protrudes through the vertical plane of the automobile wheel (70), which then allows the hub securing member (40) to be attached to the center hub (28). After the member (40) is attached the assembly (12) is secured to the automobile wheel (70).

  • Patent number: 6193320
Abstract: A wheel assembly includes a wheel hub mounted to a wheel mount. The hub and mount include intermeshing profiles in the form of teeth for transmitting torque from the mount to the hub about a longitudinal axis. The teeth on each of the hub and mount project in an axial direction and are circumferentially spaced apart. The teeth are wedge-shaped, as viewed in longitudinal section, to radially center the hub about the longitudinal axis.
