  • Patent number: 10967925
Abstract: There is disclosed a cleat apparatus mountable on a track of a tractor or similar vehicle. In an embodiment, the apparatus comprises an elongate frame having a first mounting bracket at a first end of the elongate frame, the first mounting bracket adapted to latch onto a first side of a track, and a removable second mounting bracket adapted to mount to a second end of the elongate frame, and to latch onto a second side of the track. The cleat apparatus is secured in position by the mounting brackets to provide additional traction for the track in more extreme operating conditions, including snow and ice in winter. This may significantly extend the utility of tractors which otherwise may sit idle during winter months.

  • Patent number: 8807665
Abstract: A wheel lifting block apparatus includes a climbing block such as of rubber having a block abutting surface for placement against a tire tread and has a block traction surface facing outwardly from the tire tread; and block securing means for mounting the block on the circumferential tread surface of a tire after the tire has become embedded in a depression in a viscous surface to grip the viscous surface while lifting the tire relative to the viscous surface so that tire rotation causes the tire to climb out of the depression and advance to stable terrain. The block securing means preferably includes a strap slot extending through the block; and a strap having first and second strap ends and passing through the strap slot and having a length sufficient so that the first and second strap ends can wrap around a segment of a tire and through an opening in a vehicle wheel.

  • Patent number: 8540321
Abstract: The various embodiments herein provide a system for reducing friction in vehicles operating on agricultural and muddy lands. The system includes a polous placed on a board fastened to the circular base, an arched piece connected one shaft in each of the two hydraulic jacks attached to the board, a plurality of bushings fastened to a wheel ring attached to the polous, a rotating helm attached to one end of a bushing shaft attached to each of the bushings, a guide bar attached to the bushings and bushings shaft and a spring arranged over the guide bar. The movement of the vehicle wheel causes the rotating helm to come in to contact with the arched piece which in turn stroke the bushing shaft resulting in a reciprocal movement inside the bushings thereby providing traction between the vehicle wheel and a land surface.

  • Patent number: 8333439
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cleat assembly for a compactor wheel. The cleat assembly includes an adaptor for fastening to the compactor wheel. A cleat defines a recess in which the adaptor is receivable. A spring plate fastener has a strip of spring plate material, with opposed feet and at least one apex interposed between the feet. The adaptor and the cleat are shaped so that the spring can be received through both the cleat and the adaptor such the spring fastener is held in compression between the cleat and the adaptor, with the feet bearing against the cleat and the, or each, apex bearing against the adaptor to fasten the cleat to the adaptor. The cleat defines a pair of opposed apertures and the adaptor defines a guide formation, the apertures and the guide formation being configured to permit the spring plate to be inserted into engagement with the cleat and the adaptor from one of the apertures.

  • Patent number: 8303045
Abstract: A protective device for tire walls has a holder for attaching the protective device on a wheel. The protective device has protective elements connected to the holder. The protective elements are shape-stable parts that under load are elastically deformable. They extend approximately radially away from the holder. The protective elements do not protect the entire tire but only the endangered area of the tire walls.

  • Publication number: 20090039698
Abstract: A device has a detachably fitting traction aid to be attached using at least two fixing devices, applied to the inner circumferential surface of a rim, in the vicinity of the rim edge, disposed opposing each other, substantially vertically on the plane of the rim and aligned with each other. A first fixing device, faces the wheel inner side, and has a first fixing element for the hooking and unhooking to a second fixing element, complementary to the first fixing element, mounted on one end of the traction aid. The second fixing device, faces the wheel outer side, and has a second fixing element being a coupling device, for coupling and tensioning a tension element, mounted on the other end of the traction aid, such that the traction aid may be tensioned transversely across the tire on the running surface, between both fixing devices.
