Abstract: A brake drum system (100) for a wheel of a vehicle, comprising a brake drum (110) rotatable with the wheel, the brake drum having an inner surface (124) adapted to receive a friction-generating lining when a driver applies the brakes of the vehicle; a wheel end hub (112) adapted to be located radially between a drive axle of the vehicle and the brake drum (110); and a substantially circular spring element (102) for concentrically aligning the brake drum (110) with the wheel end hub (112), the spring element being adapted to be clamped between the brake drum and the wheel end hub for providing a radially directed spring force, wherein the spring element has an outer surface adapted to be pressed against the brake drum and an inner surface adapted to be pressed against the wheel end hub.

Abstract: The roller brake mounting adapter is configured to be mounted to a bicycle wheel driving device (e.g., hub) equipped with an internal motor. The roller brake mounting adapter has a flange part and a cylindrical part. The flange part is configured to be mounted to a side end section of a hub shell of the hub. The cylindrical part has a first contact surface and a second contact surface. The first contact surface is provided on an internal circumferential surface of the cylindrical part, and configured to contact a bearing serving to rotatably support the hub shell on a shaft of the hub. The second contact surface is provided on an external circumferential surface of the cylindrical part, and has protrusions that are spaced apart in a circumferential direction. The second contact surface is configured to contact a brake drum of the roller brake device.
Abstract: A vehicle wheel assembly includes a hub, a drum, and disc wheels that are mounted together for rotation about a common axis. The hub has a cylindrical body with a hub mounting flange that extends out radially from the body. The body defines an exterior surface having a common drum and wheel pilot. The drum has a drum mounting flange with a peripheral edge that is aligned relative to the drum and wheel pilot. The disc wheels each have wheel mounting flanges with a peripheral edges aligned relative to the drum and wheel pilot. Thus, the drum and wheels are mounted on a common pilot surface formed on the hub. The single pilot significantly reduces the occurrence of drum misalignment and possible drum fracture.
