Disc Members Configured To Retain Rim Patents (Class 301/64.304)
  • Patent number: 10363775
Abstract: A vehicle wheel for motor vehicles may include a wheel-rim ring with an opening, a main member positioned at least partially in the opening of the wheel-rim ring, and a covering shell for at least partially covering the main member. The main member may include an attachment region with receptacles for attaching the main member and the wheel-rim ring to a vehicle. The wheel is configured to have a low weight and an adequate stiffness. Moreover, the wheel also exhibits a secure attachment and no pre-load losses while permitting a high degree of design flexibility. In some examples, the attachment region of the main member is free from the covering shell by way of, for example, a cut-out in the covering shell.

  • Patent number: 9193448
Abstract: An aircraft wheel comprising two half-wheels (1, 2) assembled together by means of bolt fasteners (10; 110) clamping together disks of the half-wheels, each bolt fastener comprising a bolt (11; 111) with an end forming a screw head (12; 112) and a threaded end (13; 113) for receiving a nut (14; 114), the wheel also being fitted with drive keys (20; 120) that are fitted to one of the half-wheels for driving brake disks in rotation, the wheel being characterized in that each drive key has a first end (23; 123) that is shaped to co-operate with the screw head of one of the bolts so that said first end is held and prevented from moving when the key is in place on the wheel.

  • Patent number: 7882877
Abstract: A combination wheel and valve assembly has a plurality of spokes each having at least one aperture through a rim-end thereof. A rim has an inner surface and a spoke mating element opposite the inner surface. A plurality of through-holes extend through the spoke mating element of the rim. A plurality of bolts are shaped to fit through the aperture of the rim-end of each of the spokes, and into one of the plurality of through-holes of the spoke mating element, to fasten each spoke to the rim. A conduit extends through the inner surface of the rim to one of the through-holes of the rim, such that a valve assembly can extend through the aperture of one of the spokes and engage the through-hole having the conduit, thereby enabling fluid flow through the valve assembly and the conduit to the inner surface of the rim.

Abstract: A light weight wheel structure having a hub member of substantially an elongated configuration of constant cross section defining a plurality of openings therethrough, and including a pair of end plates which are held in recessed areas at opposite ends of the hub member by way of a plurality of fasteners extending through the plurality of openings in the hub member. The hub member is of a form capable of being formed of material, such as aluminum, by an extrusion process, whereby a continuous outer cylindrical surface is provided for the mounting of a tire formed of elastomeric material.

  • Patent number: 6935667
Abstract: A wheel assembly for a wheeled vehicle utilizes interchangeable wheel hubs to secure various types of tires to provide better performance and maintenance on the vehicles. The design of the hubs is such that fabrication costs are reduced as well as costs for maintaining wheel inventories. The hubs are designed with locking elements and shoulders to ensure that tires are effectively secured in the wheel assembly. The hub is configured so that replacement of worn tires is done quickly, without having to touch the wheel bearings or drain the lubricant.
