Abstract: The present invention concerns a wheel rim and a method for making a wheel rim of the type suited for use on an agricultural or construction vehicle. The new feature of the wheel rim according to the invention is that the central hub plate at the outer periphery includes a number of tabs extending away from the centre of the central hub plate, where the second hub plate at its inner periphery also includes a number of tabs extending towards the centre of the hub plate, where the tabs have a geometric shape such that the tabs fit between each other, where the tabs include holes arranged at the same pitch circle diameter and at right angles to the tabs. In connection with the making of the hub plate, the second hub plate and the central hub plate can be produced from a single piece of suitable material, preferably steel plate, as the mentioned tabs extend over each other when two parts are separated and turned such that the tabs come to lie upon each other.

Abstract: A wheel for a vehicle is disclosed. The wheel comprises a central portion attachable to a vehicle hub and a rim arranged radially outside the central portion for supporting a wheel tire. The central portion has a series of cavities configured to receive a corresponding adapter. A cavity of the series of cavities has a through hole. The through hole is aligned in an alignment direction for alignment with a through hole of a corresponding adapter for traversal by a mounting element to attach the central portion to the vehicle hub. The cavity is configured to receive the corresponding adapter in a unique rotational position with respect to the alignment direction. The cavity includes first and second cylindrically shaped and axially aligned volumes. The first volume is bounded by a first receiving wall portion that extends substantially parallel to a front side surface of the central portion. The second volume extends from the first volume towards a back side surface of the central portion.

Abstract: A take-apart vehicle wheel assembly includes an inner wheel part defining an axis and including a generally radially extending annular flange having an outboard surface; an outer wheel part configured to be secured to the inner wheel part, the outer wheel part including a generally radially extending annular flange having an inboard surface; a gap defined between the outboard surface of the inner wheel part and the inboard surface of the outer wheel part in an area adjacently surrounding each of a plurality of stud receiving holes formed in the inner and outer wheel parts; and a seal disposed in the gap; wherein the gap is formed by providing a recess in at least one of the outboard surface of the inner wheel part and the inboard surface of the outer wheel part in at least a portion of the area adjacently surrounding each of the plurality of stud receiving holes formed therein.

Abstract: Relative rotation between an inboard and an outboard wheel component of an aircraft wheel assembly is inhibited by an interlocking tongue and groove interface. In one example, an aircraft wheel includes a first annular component, a second annular component separable from the first annular component, and at least one tongue and groove interface between the first component and the second component. The second annular component is connected to and aligned with the first component about an axis of rotation of the wheel. The at least one tongue and groove interface is configured to inhibit relative rotation between the first component and the second component about the axis of rotation of the wheel.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments include a product and a method of galvanically isolating an outer wheel portion from a wheel hub. A center wheel portion may comprise a less galvanically active material than the outer wheel portion and may be attached to the outer wheel portion with an interlock.
