Abstract: The invention relates to track systems 14, 14? that may be used to convert steerable, all-wheel drive construction equipment to steerable, multi-track construction vehicles 10. A preferred embodiment of the track system 14, 14? includes a frame 60, 182 having a reinforcing enclosure 150, 230, a plurality of track engaging rollers 82-86, 202-206, a sprocket 102, 214, and an endless track 76, 198 operatively connected to the frame 60, 182. Tension on the endless track 76, 198 is maintained with two tensioning members 170, 244 operatively connected to the forwardmost roller 82, 202. The track system 14, 14? preferably includes a limiting apparatus 300 that is configured to restrict the rotational movement “r” of the frame 60, 182 relative to a vehicle axle 16 to which it is attached. The limiting apparatus 300 has a first component 40, which is associated with the vehicle axle 16, is configured and arranged to interact with a second component 262, which is associated with the frame of the track system 14, 14?.
Abstract: A selectively configurable trolley for transporting articles across a given terrain includes a housing having a top platform and sides that at least partially define an enclosure for mounting internal operating components therein. One or more roller bearings are disposed within the housing and all configured to rotatingly support a drive belt. A handle is attached to the housing for pushing or pulling the trolley and a guide roller is disposed at a proximal end of the housing and is angled relative to the roller bearings to facilitate rotation of the belt therearound.
Abstract: The drive device of the invention comprises a ready to fit unit or kit, for installing in a detachable manner on one side of a chassis of a motor vehicle. The unit comprises a flexible crawler looped round a drive wheel adapted to be mounted on a drive hub of the vehicle and round a tension wheel carried by a support frame, which comprises an internal part adapted to be secured in a detachable manner on the chassis remote from the drive shaft, an intermediate part adapted to carry the tension wheel and an external part carrying a bearing for the drive wheel. The invention is particularly of use for transforming vehicles with four drive wheels for crawler operation.
Abstract: A tracked vehicle has a driven track suspension on each side of the hull, whereby the track suspension and the hull are connected by means of a vibration damping material. The track suspension is mounted on a U-shaped bridge element with lateral track supports with the use of a connecting floor plate, whereby each of the track supports is equipped with an electric drive motor as a track drive. The hull is suspended in the bridge element by means of vibration damping elements.
Abstract: A guide roller assembly for use in a guide roller mechanism of a crawler type vehicle, including a support shaft fixedly provided on a truck frame and a guide roller rotatably mounted on the support shaft through bearings. The guide roller has an integral unitary body structure of a stepped cylindrical shape having a radially bulged portion formed integrally by plastic deformation in an axially intermediate portion between cylindrical end portions of a smaller diameter, and having a uniform wall thickness over the entire length of the guide roller. The guide roller is improved in strength and can realize a substantial cut in production cost.
