Abstract: In a keyless entry control apparatus having a fault diagnosis unit provided separately from a car and a keyless entry C/U, the fault diagnosis unit transmits a signal to each control unit connected to a communication line, and when receiving a communication enabling signal transmitted from the keyless entry C/U, the fault diagnosis unit can communicate with the keyless entry C/U. In the case where ID codes are entered in the keyless entry C/U, a signal for setting the keyless entry C/U to ID entry mode is transmitted from the fault diagnosis unit to the keyless entry C/U. The keyless entry C/U which received the signal is set to ID entry mode, and transmits entry information of the ID codes entered in an EEPROM to the fault diagnosis unit immediately. The entry information is displayed on a display device of the fault diagnosis unit.

Abstract: An apparatus for transferring power and communication data across an annular gap comprises an inductively-coupled primary coil winding and secondary coil winding rotatable therein. Two signal oscillators are electrically coupled to a transistor for controlling current flow through the primary coil winding, thereby inducing a signal with a respective frequency in the secondary coil winding. An electronic switch operates so as to apply one of the two signals to the transistor for charging a capacitor coupled to the secondary coil winding, and operates so as to apply the other of the two signals to the transistor for discharging the capacitor. Actuation of control devices operate so as to modulate the impedance of the secondary coil winding. Abstract: Apparatus for controlling the rotational movement of a ladder or the like of mobile equipment having stabilizing outriggers when the ladder is rotated manually to the side of the mobile equipment which does not have the outrigger fully deployed. A two-part switch, arranged for one part to rotate relative to the other, develops various combinations of signals dependent upon the relative positions of the parts of the switch. A control circuit is arranged to recognize the positions of the switch parts and supplies control signals which allow the ladder to rotate at a particular rate and to a particular point as the operator is steering the ladder to the side of the mobile equipment at which the outrigger is not fully deployed.

Abstract: A driver's seat sensor switch has contacts that are operable to generate a driver present signal in response to a driver's seat of a motor vehicle being occupied. A passenger's seat sensor switch has contacts that are operable to generate a passenger present signal in response to a passenger's seat of the vehicle being occupied. The driver present signal is applied to a driver seat belt switch that opens when the driver's seat belt is not properly fastened. When the driver's seat belt is not properly fastened, the driver present signal is applied through the seat belt switch to a light, whereby the driver present signal conditions illumination of the light as an indication that the driver's seat belt is not properly fastened. In a similar manner, an indication is provided when the passenger's seat belt is not properly fastened. The passenger present signal additionally conditions a passenger air bag for deployment in response to the vehicle being in an accident.

  • Patent number: 5774065
Abstract: In a remote control system, each time a transmission code is transmitted, a rolling code having a prescribed bit configuration is cumulatively varied. An operation process is performed between each bit data item of the rolling code and each corresponding bit data item of the ID code, whereby each bit data item of the ID code is varied in correspondence with the rolling code, thus setting a variable ID code. Since the ID code itself which is contained in the signal is also varied in correspondence with the variable code, the fixed portion contained in the signal is decreased with the result that the ID code is almost infinitely widely varied. Accordingly, it becomes almost impossible to decode the ID code even if it is intercepted.

Abstract: A power management system for providing power to a main system, such as a telecommunications device, includes a number of modules that are joined by module-to-module interfaces that achieve a common EMC containment barrier. In one embodiment, a battery module defines a first EMC compartment that houses one or more backup batteries, a battery management module defines a second EMC compartment that includes circuitry such as recharging circuitry, and a power entry module includes a third EMC compartment. The power entry module has an input/output connection to the battery management module and has an AC input. An output cable extends from the power entry module to the main system. Compliant metallic module-to-module gaskets preserve EMC integrity at cable pass-throughs from the battery management module to the battery and power entry modules. The modules are mounted to a system housing in a manner that secures the modules in a desired relationship.
