Abstract: A multifunctional furniture device that may simultaneously serve gaming, vocational, and lounging purposes is provided. The system generally comprises a framework, opening mechanism, platform, and seat. A user may alter the position of the various piece of the framework to create different furniture types. An opening mechanism of the device allows the pieces of the frame to move about one another and into different positions. A computing device, input device, and display may be incorporated into the device to allow the user to perform vocational and entertainment activities when the device is placed in one position and may then be completely hidden within an internal cavity of the device when placed in a different position.

Abstract: A wire management system for a table leg is provided in a cooperative assembly with a table leg having a specific shape to receive a channel member with a cavity to receive various cables and cords. The wire management system is configured to work in a cohesive assembly and in an aesthetically pleasing manner, wherein the wire management system for a table leg is provided in a specific angular shape for receipt on a cooperative angular shape of the table leg or supporting member. Accordingly, the table leg of the cooperative assembly is provided in a geometric convex kite shape when view in cross section, wherein the kite shape is a quadrilateral having contiguous sides comprising two pairs of equal length sides that are adjacent to each other.

Abstract: A workstation is provided including first and second vertically telescoping support columns, a base frame mounted atop the first and second support columns, so that the base frame is movable up and down, and a desktop joined with the base frame and slidable between a first position in which the desktop is disposed vertically over both the first and second support columns, so a user can sit or stand facing the desktop, and a second position in which the desktop is cantilevered and projects laterally, distally beyond the first support column a first distance beyond the base frame, so that the user can exercise facing the desktop on an exercise device located laterally beyond and outside the first and second support columns. A related method of use is provided.

Abstract: A work table for securely holding accessories that has a groove spanning a portion of the tabletop, wherein any number of tech products and other accessories can be supported. The groove runs between the side ends of the tabletop and provides a variation of mounting locations preferably on opposite sides of the lateral axis, thus having no presupposed configuration for where tech products or accessories should be supported within the groove. There is a series of apertures within the groove that allow for easy cable pass through at any point therein. Additionally, the table has a cable grid below the tabletop that allow a user to removably attach tech product chargers, power strips, or other accessories directly below the work top for easy accessibility through the series of apertures.

Abstract: Devices and methods for controlled dispensation are described herein where such an assembly may generally comprise an index plate having one or more protrusions extending from a surface of the plate, a first actuator configured to translate the plate in a first direction, and a second actuator configured to translate the plate in a second direction different from the first direction. The one or more protrusions may define one or more rows which are arranged upon the plate in a collinear arrangement and may further define one or more columns which are arranged upon the plate at an angle relative to a proximal or distal edge of the plate such that each protrusion is off-set relative to an adjacent protrusion along the column.

Abstract: A work station includes a cable raceway. The cable raceway includes a basket in an interior of a base assembly, having an open upper end adjacent an access opening, and a bottom end defining openings, the basket configured to receive cables therein. A cover of the cable raceway is movable between a closed position, in which the cover is received in the access opening and covers the open upper end of the basket to inhibit access to the basket through the access opening, and an open position, in which the cover is at least partially outside the access opening to allow access to the basket through the access opening. The work station may have a work platform that is selectively adjustable in height. A portion of a footprint of the work platform may be commensurate with a corresponding portion of a footprint of the base assembly.

Abstract: A height adjustable desk or table is disclosed wherein a specially configured base includes a middle cabinet having an interior and side cabinets that protrude forwardly from the middle cabinet. An elevating desk top or panel is movable between elevated and lowered positions. A specially configured cable group or assembly or sleeve containing cables extends out from the middle cabinet interior and through a laterally extending slot (e.g., oval) or opening as the desk top or panel elevates. The cables can include power cables and data cables. In one embodiment, the specially configured sleeve is of flexible or fabric or woven material. In one embodiment, the sleeve has two bores that separate one type of cable from another type of cable.

Abstract: A partition system includes various accessories that may be associated with a wall or base element. The accessories include without limitation a power strip, an adjustable shelf, various backdrops and a worksurface assembly. The wall element may be curved or linear in various embodiments. The wall element may include an upstanding wall or a channel, either or both of which are engaged by one or more accessories. In some embodiments, the accessories may be co-located at a single location, with one or more accessories accommodating the others with an expansion device.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing HDMI cables and utility receptacles on a work surface. The apparatus has a housing which has an interior region, a lower portion and an upper portion. The upper portion has an opening that provides access to the interior region. The lower portion comprises wall sections attached to and extending downwardly from the upper portion. The upper portion has a flange portion that is angulated with respect to the wall sections. A bottom panel is attached to the wall sections. The housing is sized such that the lower portion fits into a through-hole in a work surface and the flange portion contacts and rests upon portions of the work surface extending about the through-hole in the work surface. A HDMI signal switching device is within the interior region and has a plurality of HDMI input connectors and an HDMI output connector.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide, among other things, computing carts with a storage compartment having a sliding work surface that selectively provides access to at least a portion of a storage space within the storage compartment. In some cases the storage space is defined at least in part by a storage chassis and a sliding work surface positioned over the storage chassis, with the sliding work surface at least in part defining a top extent of the storage space. In some cases a latch mechanism releasably maintains a sliding work surface in a closed position and allows movement to an open position when released. Some embodiments include a lock mechanism to secure a sliding work surface in a closed position to prevent access to a storage space. Strengthening mechanisms may also be provided to strengthen the storage compartment in the open and/or closed positions.

The apparatus comprises a housing comprising a lower portion and an upper portion. The upper portion has a perimeter and a flange portion that extends about the entire perimeter. The upper portion of the housing has a top opening that is bounded by the flange portion. The lower portion of the housing comprises lengthwise and widthwise walls that are attached to and extend downwardly from the upper portion of the housing. The housing further comprises a bottom panel that is attached to the lengthwise and widthwise walls. The housing has an interior region that is accessible through top opening. The housing is sized so that the lower portion of the housing fits into a through-hole in a work surface of a work station and the flange portion contacts and rests upon the portion of the work surface that extends about the through-hole in the work surface.

Abstract: A composite casing structure is applied to a housing of an electronic device. The composite casing structure includes a plastic frame and a metal plate. The plastic frame has a plurality of side walls surrounding four side edges thereof, and at least one open portion is formed by the side walls. The metal plate is combined with the plastic frame, and at least one reinforcing rib is formed on a surface of the metal plate, such that a position of the reinforcing rib is corresponding to a position of the open portion. With such a structural design, the composite casing has a lightweight and high-strength structure.

The trolley defines a storage area for storing procedure materials that are usable during the procedure.

The keyboard panel (3) has its movement transmitted by a pivot joint (4) to the front wall (6) and by swing arms (5a, 5b) to the display bearer (9, 10), such that the front wall (6) and the bearer (9, 10) swivel towards a vertical plane as the keyboard panel (3) travels from the working position to the storage position. This results in more leg room under the table.

At least one support member that can be moved into position beneath the front panel after horizontal deployment to keep the front panel in its upright, horizontal position. Control hardware enables the front panel to be physically manipulated into deployed or storage positions by a user. A safety mechanism associated with the control hardware can restrict the speed or movement of the front panel. The front panel can be used by meeting collaborators when deployed and enable the maintenance of open office space when the front panel is stored.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a desk structure. The desk structure comprises a writing surface, and a book box which is secured to the writing surface. A plurality of receiver sleeves are integrally molded with the book box. Each receiver sleeve has an outer wall and an inner wall. The inner wall of the receiver sleeve has a slot and a plurality of radially spaced ribs. The inner wall defines an opening. The desk structure further comprises a plurality of legs. Each leg has an upper leg portion. The upper leg portion of each leg is received by the inner wall opening of a corresponding receiver sleeve. Additionally, each upper leg portion includes a detent. The detent is adapted to engage a corresponding inner wall slot when the upper leg portion is received by the inner wall opening of the corresponding receiver sleeve. Thus, the detent both secures the leg to the book box and positions the upper leg portion within the opening.

Support walls are provide within the housing that help prevent cross-talk and redundancy is provided in some of the device's components and functions.

In the closed position, wires that are behind the pivotable wall are concealed from view. In the open position, easy access is provided to the wires for re-arranging or changing the wires. The pivotable vertical wall includes at least one horizontal work surface that extends forwardly. A stationary vertical wall may be positioned adjacent the pivotable wall and may provide partial support for another horizontal work surface that extends forwardly from the stationary wall. The stationary wall may include a pivotable panel that allows easy access to wires positioned behind the stationary wall. A top shelf may extend across both the pivotable and stationary walls and include apertures positioned behind the plane defined by the two walls so that wires can be inserted through the apertures to the space behind the walls.

Abstract: A support for a computer monitor and/or central processing unit (CPU) and/or computer keyboard in furniture in which the monitor will be visible through a transparent panel in a working surface, in which the support includes a single beam which can be attached to and detached from legs of a table, extending transversely between the legs when attached. Suspending links can be attached to and detached from the beam to support platforms for the monitor and/or the CPU. The keyboard is connected by links to the platform for the monitor so that when the keyboard support is pulled out for use the monitor is moved into an operative position from an inoperative position in which it is out of the way.

Abstract: A craft work apparatus for designing and working on various different projects. The craft work apparatus includes a table with adjustable legs. An elastomeric mat member is affixed to the top surface of the table. The mat includes a grid. An extension member is attached to an end of the table. A light is releasably attached to the bottom side of the extension member. A plurality of drawers for storage of craft tools and materials is coupled to the bottom surface of the table. A holding member for receiving the foot pedal of a craft tool is pivotally coupled to the bottom surface of the table which allows a person in a wheelchair to activate the pedal with their knee. An ironing board attached to the bottom surface of the table can be slid out from the front edge of the table for use as needed.

The easel comprises a folding panel pivotally mounted on edge of a side drawer. The panel pivots from a closed position, wherein the panel is folded into the top of the drawer and the drawer can be closed, to an open position, wherein the panel is upwardly and outwardly inclined so as to be in position to support work on the easel. A rail on the bottom of the easel supports work on the easel. The easel can serve as a writing surface when the easel is closed and the drawer is open. The desk includes a central drawer having a fold-down front panel that serves as a keyboard drawer, and computer accessory storage areas in other portions of the desk.

The furniture article includes a desk having a worksurface with ends, a support for supporting one of the ends, and a foot on the other end. A storage unit or cabinet having a top is provided. The foot adjustably rests on the top, so that the top supports the other end of the worksurface, but so that the furniture unit is horizontally adjustable to different locations partially under the worksurface. A Z-bracket interconnects the worksurface to the top of the cabinet to secure the relationship of the cabinet and the desk. The furniture article can advantageously be used by itself or in combination with a building wall or demountable architectural wall, or in combination with a partition system to define a plurality of non-uniformly dimensioned offices.

Abstract: A dual use desk for use with a monitor and keyboard, the desk having a retracting lid section conforming to a lid opening in the front edge of the desktop, the lid retraction mechanism consisting of the lid being hingedly attached to commonly available linear drawer sliders mounted at a rearward sloping angle below the desktop. The lid is retracted with a simple front edge tilt up, and slide back motion, to expose a lower level keyboard tray. The keyboard tray may be extendible outward as well, and may have an accessory tray attached, which is exposed for access when the lid is retracted and the keyboard extended. Alternative configurations permit a monitor to be located below desktop level, visible when the lid is retracted and the keyboard extended.

A retractable seat is movably connected to the support side panel of the carrel body for selective positioning in a location ranging from withdrawn into the knee-space beneath the console housing to extended completely from the knee-space.

Each of the first linkages includes a cylindrical part formed with a plurality of alternately disposed first engaging grooves and engaging ridges. Each of the engaging ridges is defined by a ridge-confining wall that has a C-shaped cross-section. Each of the second linkages is in the form of a clamp that has two opposing clamp arms. The clamp arms have two opposing curved ends which are inserted into two adjacent ones of the first engaging grooves, and which have inner faces substantially conform to and abut tightly against the ridge-confining wall of a respective one of the engaging ridges so as to secure the stretchers to the legs.

The unit comprises a stationary desk having a partially open front, with a kneehole opening forming at least a portion of the open front. A moveable return pivotally mounted at on one side of the desk comprises a vertical face panel and a work surface mounted at a rear side of the face panel. The return is pivotal between a closed position, wherein the face panel covers the open portion of the front of the desk and the return work surface is concealed behind the face panel, and an open position, wherein the face panel is pivoted outward from the front of the desk, exposing the kneehole opening in the desk. The return work surface extends forward from the desk alongside the kneehole opening when the return is opened. The face panel is configured so as to create the impression that the furniture unit is a credenza with no kneehole opening when the return is closed.

The structure includes a top member and a support assembly for supporting the top member and together defining the chamber. The invention includes a panel removably connected to the structure and a securing device for removably securing the panel to the structure. The securing device is hidden from view when the panel is connected to the structure. Removing the panel provides for access to the chamber.

Abstract: A scrapbook nook or desk having two side walls, a first back wall, a second back wall, a top wall, a top storage unit, a desktop work area, a roll-top member, slide-out work surfaces, a plurality of drawers, a cork board, and a light source. Assembling scrapbooks usually requires large items such as a Xyron™ machine and Photo storage boxes. The top storage unit is constructed specifically to store these particular items. The desktop includes an opening constructed to receive trash which is then dropped into a compartment with a drawer located beneath the desktop. The top surface of the desktop supports a writing instrument storage unit which comprises a honeycomb-shaped structure that vertically houses writing instruments for easy accessibility.

Abstract: A device for preventing a thin apparatus from overturning by providing a means for fixing with a fixing portion of a desk and the like. The device prevents overturn of the thin apparatus, which is a tower type computer, or the like, as the apparatus is fixed to an overhanging part of the desk using a fixture which is a combination of a hook and a U-shaped bracket, and the like when the thin apparatus is disposed in dead space at the back of, the side of, or under a desk.

Abstract: A portable, wooden computer desk is disclosed, comprising an all wood computer desk that can be quickly and easily assembled without the use of tools or separate fastening devices. A continuous feed paper slot is provided to facilitate use of continuous feed paper. Holes are provided on the work surface for use of lamps and similar electric appliances. Electric cord indentations provide a way to place the present invention against a wall without damaging the electric cords of computer components.

Abstract: A computer storing desk for housing and supporting computer hardware includes a C-shaped top with a concave side and an opposite convex side. The concave side defines a work area and the convex side is greater in length than the concave side and defines a front edge of the desk. The top also has two ends which extend between the concave and convex sides. A pedestal supports the top and is positioned under one end of the top. Inside of the pedestal is a storage space and one face of the pedestal has an access opening which communicates with the interior storage space. The pedestal has another face which is a solid face with no openings. The pedestal is positioned such that the solid face is aligned with the concave side of the top and the face with the access opening is aligned with one end of the top.

Abstract: A computer desk module has a trapezoidal desk top with an opening. A transparent window plate is supported in the desk top so as to cover the opening. A pull-out keyboard shelf is supported under a front edge portion of the desk top. A computer monitor is suspended under the desk top so its screen is inclined upward to allow viewing of the screen through the window plate. A plurality of the computer desk modules are assembled end-to-end into various semi-trapezoidal clusters, S-shaped clusters, and straight line clusters. Overhead power and data bus cables are routed from a classroom ceiling into tubular legs supporting a decorative cover against the ceiling. The legs extend upward from a cabinet having a semi-octagonal shape that mates with a semi-octagonal cluster of the computer desk modules. The cables pass through the legs, through the cabinet, into the various computer desk modules forming the cluster, and to the monitor and a computer in each of the computer desk modules.

Abstract: A computer has an internal chassis with four wall-like frame members located at its rectangular perimeter. A variety of electronic components are mounted to the chassis within the rectangular perimeter. A bezel is mounted to an outer portion of one of the frame members and forms an exterior rear panel of the computer. The chassis is sidably mounted within an integral, five-sided enclosure having a rectangular opening at its rearward end. The enclosure closely receives the chassis to eliminate relative movement therebetween. The bezel has an integral handle with a pair of tabs which engage recesses in the enclosure when the chassis is in the enclosure. The chassis is removed from the enclosure by lifting the handle on the bezel such that the tabs disengage the recesses in the enclosure to allow the chassis to slide out of the enclosure.

Abstract: A workstation includes a countertop having a substantially planar upper surface below which extends an upstanding post that defines a substantially vertical axis. Further arranged under the countertop is a drawer that is interconnected to the upstanding post through a set of rail members. The set of rail members includes a first rail member fixed to the drawer and a second rail member which is slidably interconnected with the first rail member. The second rail member is further rotatably mounted to the upstanding post such that a drawer can slide between extended and retracted positions and also pivot about the vertical axis of the post. The drawer includes a handle which extends across both front and side wall portions of the drawer to enhance maneuvering of the drawer to a desired position.

Abstract: A flat monitor is associated with a work station in inset relationship to the top surface of the work station's platform so as to be non-interfering with this top surface usage. The flat monitor is supported in a compartment structure associated with an opening in the platform. The computer desk (10) includes an upper panel (12) defining a work surface, a rear panel (14), first and second side panels (16) and (18) respectively, in spaced relation, and a pivoting carriage (15). Further a horizontal panel (20) defining a shelf depends from the rear panel (14). Proximate the second side panel (18), and in spaced relation therefrom, is a first interior panel member (22). Drawers (24) can be provided between the second side panel (18) and the first interior panel (22) as is known in the art. The carriage (15) has an open back and pivots in relation to, and independently of, the remainder of computer desk (10). When pivoted inward towards the rear panel, the carriage allows ready access to the ported side of the computer case (11).

Overhead power and data bus cables are routed from a classroom ceiling into tubular legs supporting a decorative cover against the ceiling. The legs extend upward from a cabinet having a semi-octagonal shape that mates with a semi-octagonal cluster of the computer desk modules. The cables pass through the legs, through the cabinet, into the various computer desk modules forming the cluster, and to the monitor and a computer in each of the computer desk modules.

Abstract: An enlarged table top is secured to a supporting structure disposed under the top for supportive engagement with a floor. The supporting structure includes a beam which extends longitudinally of the top directly adjacent the underside for fixed securement thereto. The beam is defined by a pair of elongate but sidewardly spaced tubular beam members which are rigidly joined together. An upright leg structure is provided adjacent at least one end of the table and includes a pair of upright but sidewardly spaced leg members having upper ends which are disposed adjacent the ends of the beam elements. A removable bracket includes opposed bracket parts which clamp the leg members therebetween, and one of the bracket parts has cantilevered support rods which telescope into the adjacent ends of the beam members for fixed securement thereto.

Abstract: Furniture for containing computer equipment is disclosed, where the computer equipment can be concealed when not in use. The furniture is in the form of a desk or table which has at least one normal drawer and at least one false drawer front which can be moved relative to or removed from the furniture (desk, credenza and so on). Computer equipment is mounted in the furniture carcass. When the equipment is in use, the false front is pivoted downward or removed, thereby exposing the equipment for easy access, for example via the disc ports. When not in use, the false drawer is positioned vertically and is fabricated to match the front of the normal drawer in appearance.

Abstract: A laptop computer desk includes an interior storage compartment which is defined below worksurface level and has a triangular shape to accommodate a laptop computer therein. The storage compartment is enclosed by a front door and top doors wherein the front door folds down to define a wrist rest while the top doors fold over onto the work surface to define blotters or writing areas adjacent to the storage compartment. The interior of the storage compartment includes a receptacle unit for power and/or communication outlets, and flexible fabric divider walls which define interior compartments for storing cables.
