Abstract: A head-up display apparatus for a vehicle may include: a housing defining an interior space, with an entrance formed on a side of the housing; a holder unit coupled at a side thereof to a combiner; a moving unit located in the interior space of the housing, rotatably coupled to the holder unit, and reciprocating in one direction to cause the combiner to be accommodated in the interior space of the housing or to be exposed to an outside through the entrance of the housing; a driving unit coupled to the moving unit to move the moving unit; and a tilting unit slidably coupled to the moving unit and coupled to the driving unit, the tilting unit being moved by the driving unit to cause the combiner to be tilted around an imaginary central axis transverse to the combiner.

Abstract: A gaming terminal for conducting a wagering game includes a main body having a cabinet door and a top box positioned above the main body. The cabinet door has a closed position and an open position. The top box includes a crown that is moveable from a first position that prohibits access to the top box to a second position that provides access to the top box. The gaming terminal further includes a latching assembly for securing and releasing the crown. The latching assembly is configured to release the crown in response to the cabinet door being in the open position so as to permit movement of the crown from the first position to the second position. The latching assembly is further configured to secure the crown in response to the crown being moved from the second position to the first position when the cabinet door is in the closed position.

Abstract: A system for mounting and securing a portable computer to vehicle mounts to the interior of the vehicle. The system protects, secures, and houses the portable computer within a case. A mounting base mounts to the interior of the vehicle. The case includes a base plate, a platform, and a lid. The base plate mounts to the mounting base. A docking station or power supply for a portable computer mounts to the platform. The computer is positioned adjacent to the platform and mounts to the docking station or power supply for a computer mounts to the platform. The mounting base, base plate, case, or combination thereof dampens vibrations from the vehicle to the computer, thus protecting the computer from vibration damage. The lid moves with respect to the case to provide user access to the computer. The lid can further move to cover the computer to secure the computer within the case or to the platform. Internal shelves or trays within the case provide access to and house associated computer peripheral devices.

Abstract: A remote control, ceiling mounted lifting device is provided for concealing, supporting and providing floor level access to audio visual objects such as color video/data projectors. The overall height of the lifting device is extremely shallow to allow the device to be mounted and concealed within the ceiling clearance area. The device has an outer frame with an open inner section. A support carriage is provided which is sized to fit and nest with the open inner section of the support framework. The carriage has an inverted U-shaped structure which allows the projector to be recessed upwardly within the confines of the carriage. A scissor-like stabilizer mechanism is mounted on each side of the carriage and support structure. These stabilizer mechanisms are located on the outer edges of the device to minimize the overall height of the device.

Abstract: A cash register hood comprises a front panel 110, two side panels 112 and an overhead panel or tray 116. The hood is fitted to a base board 118 which is fixed to a counter-top. The hood may be assembled using keys 125 and slots 126 integrally formed on the panels. The cash register hood also includes a product display panel 116 and a shelf 117. Trays 32,33 and product dispensers 50 may be attached to the hood as required.

Abstract: A wing contained emergency descent system incorporates a plurality of bays positioned within the wing structure of an aircraft. Each bay opens upwardly and outwardly of the wing through the upper surface thereof and supports a tray positioned within the bay. The tray contains one or more parachute packs and is positioned to be elevatable through the actuation of a pair of doors. The doors form a part of the upper skin of the aircraft wing and each includes an operating arm depending therefrom. The operating arm engages the tray such that the arm elevates the tray, and parachute pack thereon, into the air stream flowing over the wing when the panel or doors are opened.

Abstract: An arrangement for adapting a flat bed sewing machine to support a convertible bed sewing machine for flat bed sewing includes a support bracket assembly and a support arm assembly which both extend into the cavity of the sewing machine. The sewing machine is fixedly mounted on the support bracket assembly for supporting the rear of the sewing machine. The support arm assembly supports the front end of the sewing machine and swings out of the way when not supporting the sewing machine to provide clearance for the sewing machine when the sewing machine is in its stored position within the cavity of the cabinet.

Abstract: A mounting arrangement for a sewing machine is disclosed, comprising a cabinet having an aperture in its top plate, a base plate on which a sewing machine is rigidly secured and an elongated narrow plank member pivoted to the base plate and to an edge of the top plate aperture. The plank member links the base plate to the cabinet. Supports and a locking device retains the assembly of the base plate and plank member in three positions: a top position in which the base plate and plank member are coplanar and level with the top plate to maintain the sewing machine in a free arm position; an intermediate position in which the plank member extends downwardly and vertically from the top plate and the base plate is horizontal to maintain the sewing machine in a flat bed position, and a lower position in which both the plank member and the base plate extend downwardly to maintain the sewing machine in stored tilted position within the cabinet.

Abstract: A sewing machine supporting work table including a pair of front legs is connected to a chest of drawers by parallel links on which the table is movable between alternate positions in an arc carrying the legs over an underlying surface. In one position of the table, the top of the table is a top for the chest of drawers and the legs blend into the chest, whereas in the other position of the table the top projects frontally therefrom providing space for the knees of an operator and the legs are separated from the chest.

Abstract: A typewriter cabinet includes a fixed bottom, fixed sidewalls and a rear wall extending vertically from the base. A moveable front wall is hingeably connected to the base. A pair of hinged top plates serve as a top for the typewriter cabinet when the typewriter is recessed, but swing outward and serve as part of the top when the typewriter is raised and in use. A moveable shelf for holding the typewriter includes a rear backrest which supports the typewriter when it is recessed. The moveable shelf is hinged to the top of the moveable front wall and folds against the inside surface of the moveable front wall. A rotatable pivot plate has three pivot points. The first pivot point is connected to a connecting point on an edge of the moveable shelf. The second pivot is connected to a pin extending from the sidewalls. The third point is connected by means of a spring to an anchor point on the base.

Abstract: A piece of furniture having at least one flap pivotable to a flat open position, as the flap of a sewing machine cabinet, and including a support device for the flap in such operative flat position. This support device advantageously strengthens the portion of the piece of furniture to which the flap is pivotally connected, is adapted to be readily added to an existing piece of furniture, and retracts to an unconspicuous inoperative position inside the body of the piece of furniture. This piece of furniture comprises a flap pivoted to the top thereof, a bracket fixed against the lower face of the top, a body of sliding resistant material secured to the bracket, and a supporting arm slidable endwise through this body of sliding resistant material and outwardly extendable in operative supporting position against the lower face of the flap outwardly extending in flat open position.
