Abstract: A case for writing utensils and accessories consists of a base or receiving part into which the utensils and accessories fit, and a cover part which fits over the receiving part and projects upwardly from it. The upwardly projecting portion of the cover part forms an enclosed space into which the utensils and accessories can extend from the receiving part. The receiving part has protruberances extending outwardly from it which releasably interengage with openings in the cover part for locking the two parts together. A handle member is secured to the cover part so that the case can be easily carried.

Abstract: A storage cabinet having a body with front, rear and side walls extending upwardly from a bottom to define a storage space and having recessed handles mounted within recesses in the side walls and with preformed skid members secured to the underside of the bottom and adapted for attachment of casters. The particular storage cabinet disclosed additionally has a two-part cover with reinforcing members associated therewith to strengthen the cover and coact with the body components to render the storage cabinet more secure against theft.

Abstract: What is disclosed is a tool chest which comprises a main support housing; a center member slideably mounted in the main support housing; side members pivotally mounted to the main support housing; and means for supporting tools comprising part of the center member and each of the side members. The main support housing further includes a pair of support blocks which limit the downward vertical travel of the center member creating a storage area at the bottom of the chest.The slideable mount for the center member includes a cooperating groove and track. The track portion includes a spring biased section which is forced into the vertical path of the center member when the latter is raised above a certain height. It then provides a support ledge for holding the center member in its vertically disposed position, making the storage area accessible.The handle for carrying the chest includes cooperating handle sections disposed on the side members.

Abstract: An improved attache case comprises a base, a cover hinged to said base, a drawer apparatus provided in a chamber of the cover for containing the small articles and a driving means also provided in the chamber of the cover to engage with the drawer apparatus for controlling the moving of the drawer apparatus. The driving means may have a plurality of embodiments if they may achieve the function to move the drawer apparatus.

Abstract: A Chrismas tree ball display cabinet and storage cabinet has a plurality of drawers of styrofoam with a grid of ball-fitting spherical recesses in the top surface of each, a vertically spaced succession of ledge-like shelves supporting the styrofoam drawers, and in the preferred embodiment a compartmented drawer for Christmas tree ball accessories; a vertically sliding door gives access to the contents, and transparent plastic construction for the cabinet and white color for the styrofoam in preferred embodiment make the assembly when filled with Christmas tree balls an effective display for store or home as well as for storage.

Abstract: A tool chest, including specific locations therein for placement of various tools, the chest having a compartmented case and hinged cover, a row of hooks from which some tools are hung and a perforated shelf through which some other of the tools are fitted, and the cover in a closed position preventing the tools from falling out of the compartments, off the hooks and out of the shelf holes in case the chest is overturned.

Abstract: An open bottomed sewing machine cover is tapered and slabbed at one end and provided with novel and improved latch means for use with platform beds, bed frames or bottom bed covers that are indented on the bottom at the ends to accept the latches which of comprises latch levers suspended on leaf springs adjacent the bottom edges of the open bottom provided with inward facing paddles at their lower extremities adapted to be pulled outwardly while the case is lowered over the machine to rest on the table top or over the major portion of a similar case cover for stacking and nesting and after the cover is lowered over a machine as the latch lever is released, the paddles move inward into indents provided adjacent the bottom of the machine to extend beneath the machine to support the machine for carrying.

Abstract: A tackle box has a horizontal stack of upstanding rectangular housing units. The stack can be opened like a fan for access to contents, as adjacent units are hinged by vertical hinge pins. The pins are readily removable so units can be added or deleted as desired by fishermen. A handle anchor slot in the top of each unit, and flexible carrying handle, facilitate carrying the stack.

Abstract: This invention comprises a muzzle loading rifle stand to be used when loading a rifle through the muzzle. It comprises a base with an upright member attached thereto, having a channel for receiving the rifle in an upright position, there being a cushion on said base within said channel upon which the butt of the rifle may rest during the loading operation and a muzzle receiving member at the top of said upright member. The stand is also provided with a cabinet at the top with compartments for containing all the tools and other equipment used in the muzzle loading operation. Portions of the base fold against the sides of the upright member and a handle is provided for carrying the stand to and from the place of use.

Abstract: A portable bed for a small animal has an elongated center section of rectangular configuration. A rounded end section is hinged to each elongated side of the center section. Rigid sidewalls extending in the same direction perpendicularly from the short edges of the center section and rounded edges of the end sections define an enclosed area. The rounded end sections are dimensioned to give a nesting relationship between the sections when they are folded toward each other. The sides of the bed opposite the sidewalls may be equipped with resting knobs to maintain the bed a short distance from the floor when it is in use. A handle connected to the outer sidewall (when the bed is in folded position) enables the bed to be carried readily. A cushion substantially coextensive with the surface provided by the center and end sections completes the assembly.

Abstract: A cabinet is disclosed having a front frame constructed from four extruded edge members. Each extruded edge member has a running slot internal to it such that it receives a reinforcing member at each corner. The outer enclosure comprises an upper U-shaped panel and a lower U-shaped panel, each having interiorly bent outer edges which are secured by a dove-tail bent clamp positioned therebetween. A rear frame secures the enclosure in wrap-around relationship to both front and rear frames. Interior mounting posts having mounting holes thereon are secured to the front and rear frames by means of a fastener which engages a second running slot adjacent the first. The panels coupled with the mounting members secure the frame members which are reinforced at their corners and the dove-tail bent clamp secures the upper U-shaped closure portion to the lower U-shaped closure portion. The dove-tail bent clamp also forms horizontal handle assemblies on both sides of the cabinet.

Abstract: A cabinet for an electronic apparatus comprises a housing adapted to provide an upright operating position for conventional bench or floor use, and a substantially horizontal operating position for overhead use. The housing includes a control and display panel which is preferably sloped to facilitate user convenience in either operating position. A portion of the housing adjacent the panel is built up to provide an integral handle and means for shading the display from the glare of overhead lights. A detachable hinged cover is provided to protect the control and display panel. Such cover may include accessory items and may provide storage area therefor.

Abstract: A carrying handle arrangement for a projector housing or the like is provided wherein the handle frictionally fits with and is retained between first and second housing portions. The carrying handle is rotatable between a first upright carrying position and a second storage position wherein the handle fits within a recess defined within one of the housing portions to form a flat surface with the housing portion. The carrying handle is retained by the frictional fitting of integral bearing pins with respective bearing receivers defined in one of the housing portions.The handle and bearing receiver structures include a resilient retention arrangement defined by the frictional fit of the bearing receivers and bearing pins. The resilient retention arrangement provides a frictional fit relationship between the handle and the housing.

Abstract: A recessed handle assembly adapted for use in cases, panels and more particularly in electrical housing assembly units is disclosed. An aperture is provided in a wall of an electrical housing assembly unit. Into the aperture is placed a handle member which is preferably U shaped and is equipped with a pair of flanges. The flanges engage the exterior surface of the panel. A keeper member which also has a pair of flanges is mounted between the panel and the handle member. The keeper member is of such dimensions that it tightly fits between the panel and the handle member while the flanges of the keeper member engage the interior surface of the panel. The whole assembly is held together by a spring force which results from tight fit of the keeper member between the panel and the handle member. The handle assembly of this invention can be mounted into a panel in a very short time without the use of tools or mechanical skills.

Abstract: A traveling case for artist brushes which maintains said brushes, each in a separable, readily accessible, upright position, comprising an elongated rectangular container provided with a hinged door and an internal integral horizontal U-shaped rib, which functions as a stop guide for a separable two-tier brush holder slidably received within said container and maintained in a stationery position by the coaction of the upper tier of said brush holder and said rib, said two-tier brush holder being provided with a centrally located longitudinal rod which terminates in a carrying means and extending from said tiers to above the top of said container and adapted to slide into a partial slot on the top wall of said elongated container, said tiers being additionally provided with multiple openings to receive individual brushes.

Abstract: A portable storage case particularly suitable for storing and displaying art supplies including paint containers of differing sizes, brushes, and tools. The portable case of the invention comprises three storage and display sections, a middle section having adjacent side sections pivotally hinged thereto along spaced vertical edges on one side of the middle section, the sections being latchable along the opposite sides thereof and adapted to be portable when so latched by the provision of a handle disposed on an upper portion of one of the sections. The several sections of the case are provided with vertically spaced shelf members having retaining rods spaced above and along free lateral edges thereof to retain paint containers of differing size thereon.

Abstract: A portable file comprising three file containers hinged together such that they may be either disposed in a compact side-by-side relationship for carrying or substantially separated for receiving documents into various file compartments.

Abstract: Pies within pie pans are received within circular cut-out portions of removable shelves which are supported vertically apart within a pair of side-by-side compartments of a portable pie case. The shelves are formed from relatively thin sheet metal and include stiffening flanges on their sides and rear and bordering the circular cut-out portions. The side flanges are bent down at an angle of about 45.degree. from the general plane of the shelf. These flanges are received within complementary slideway slots formed in the side walls of the compartments. The central front portion of each shelf is cut away to facilitate placement and removal of the pies. The portion of each shelf bordering the circular cut-out extends about the pie an angular distance substantially greater than 180.degree.. The bottom, top, rear and side walls of the pie case are cast monolithically from a structural plastic.A throw-away cardboard front panel closes both compartments.

Abstract: A cabinet employed in the kitchen, bathroom or the like, which comprises an upright enclosure having an access opening on an upper horizontal surface thereof, which access opening may be completely covered by means of a movable cover attached to said surface. Said cover is removed from covering said opening by movement in the general direction of a frontmost vertical wall of the cabinet, and is preferably recessed within said cabinet in parallel position adjacent said frontmost wall. The cabinet of the present invention is useful for the storage of dangerous household chemicals and the like and is designed to prevent the ready access of these materials to children.

Abstract: The specification discloses a portable accessory dimensioned to rest on the benchseat of a motor vehicle. The accessory is defined by outer side, rear, front and bottom walls. The outer rear wall is contoured to fit the backrest of the benchseat; the outer bottom wall is contoured to fit the seat cushion. Separate inner side, rear, front and bottom walls are thermally insulated from the outer walls to define a storage compartment. A caddy includes a cylindrical cavity for receiving a beverage container which is disposed between the inner and outer front walls. A removable lid is designed to extend slightly into the storage compartment. The upper exposed surface of the lid provides an armrest for a passenger in the motor vehicle.

Abstract: An improved hand grip assembly for a portable cabinet that includes a finger receiving portion secured to a side wall of the cabinet and located on a line diagonally across the corner of the side wall near the top and front walls of the cabinet. For more control over movement of the cabinet there may also be provided a recess area in the top wall for receiving a person's thumb. This recess area provides a gripping rail for the thumb such that the rail is located between the thumb and the rest of a person's hand. For optimum control over movement of the cabinet a finger receiving portion and recess area are provided on both sides of the cabinet.

Abstract: A molded instrument housing includes a top wall and a bottom wall slidably connected to a pair of opposed side walls or expanders to form a hollow housing with fastening means securing the various walls together by passing through vertical guide members on the side walls. Horizontal flanges are integral with the side walls and the guide members are molded to and extend from the flanges. Each flange includes a vertical opening which renders it adaptable for having a support member secured thereto. A novel handle construction is also provided.

Abstract: A folding, rigid tent-like structure useful for a variety of play purposes can be constructed so as to utilize a pair of sides. These sides have top edges which are preferably connected by a connector and appropriate hinges so that the sides may be pivoted relative to one another. A pair of bottom walls are located between these sides adjacent to the bottom edges of these sides. The bottom walls have pivotally connecting adjacent edges and side edges which are pivotally connected to the sides. At least one folding link structure is secured to the sides beneath the bottom wall. This folding link structure serves to support the bottom walls against sagging. The tent-like structure may be folded to a flat position by concurrently folding the link structure between the sides and folding the bottom walls so that they are adjacent to one another between the sides as the sides themselves are pivoted so as to be adjacent to one another.

Abstract: A convertible tray cabinet that can be used as a salesman's case having a base and a lid for carrying a nested stack of jewelry trays, and which cabinet can then be converted to a jewelry case with sliding trays therein by removing the lid, discarding the base, placing the lid on its side and sliding said trays into said lid on a plurality of spaced-apart ribs on the inside surfaces of opposed sidewalls of said lid. The ribs are vertical when the lid is used as a salesman's case and are horizontal when the lid is placed on its side and used as a jewelry case.

Abstract: A bench member has spaced opposite first and second ends, a top and a bottom. A first pair of legs are foldably mounted on the bench member at the bottom of the first end thereof. A first guide device is affixed to the first pair of legs for removably supporting a palette between the first pair of legs. A second pair of legs are foldably mounted on the bench member at the bottom of the second end thereof. A second guide device is affixed to the second pair of legs for removably supporting a canvas therebetween. A storage box is pivotally affixed at a pair of corners of the box to the bench at the top of the second end of the bench. The storage box is for paints, brushes and supplies, and has a lid movably affixed to the box for selectively covering the box. Canvas supporting devices are provided on the inside surface of the lid for releasably mounting a canvas thereon whereby the lid functions as an easel.

Abstract: A three-piece tote bag and method of construction is described. The bag includes two end panels which are assembled to a body panel with zippers. The periphery of the end panels are provided with zipper halves which engage cooperating zipper halves along the side edges of the body panel to form the bag. Each of the three panels are produced in a flat condition and contain stiffening means and insulative material between outer cover and inner liner sheets. The panels are sealed about their peripheral edges and the zipper halves are stitched to the panel edges.

Abstract: A compact and lightweight case for a portable sewing machine has a hollow rectangular base which receives and is secured to the bed of a sewing machine and a cover which rests on the base and surrounds those parts of the machine which extend above the bed. One of such parts has a handle which extends outwardly through an opening in the top wall of the cover so that the case can be lifted through the medium of the sewing machine by lifting the machine by way of the handle.

Abstract: A console for apparatus such as teleprinters including a box-like base or housing for housing the apparatus, a plate which is hinged to one side of the base and arranged to serve as a cover member in the housed condition of the apparatus and as a supporting surface in the ready for use condition of the apparatus, and bracket structures attached to the base which include upper and lower supporting portions.

Abstract: A compact and lightweight case for a portable sewing machine has a hollow rectangular base which receives and is secured to the bed of a sewing machine and a cover which rests on the base and surrounds those parts of the machine which extend above the bed. One of such parts has a handle which extends outwardly through an opening in the top wall of the cover so that the case can be lifted through the medium of the sewing machine by lifting the machine by way of the handle.

Abstract: This disclosure pertains to a cabinet for kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms having a door hingably secured to the uppermost lateral surface of the cabinet. The hinge is located parallel and adjacent to the frontmost edge of the cabinet requiring the user to pivot the door upwardly and forwardly thus minimizing the ease of access to the storage area of the cabinet by children, preventing thereby tampering with dangerous household chemicals. A rigid perforated plastic liner is stored within the cabinet and is utilized to contain the articles to be stored within the cabinet and for convenient removal therefrom. A recessed handle is provided to facilitate opening the cabinet door as are two hand grasping areas for removing the plastic liner from within the cabinet by lifting the liner through the opened doorway.

Abstract: A stackable storage and display container comprises a base, opposed side walls and a rear wall, the top and front of the container being open, and a reinforcing bar pivotally mounted on the opposed side walls for movement between an operative position, extending between the side walls at the front of the container for maintaining the spacing of the side walls, and an inoperative position adjacent the rear wall, the bar in its operative position extending above the level of the side walls of the container, the base of the container being provided with a corresponding recess for receiving the reinforcing bar of a like container on which the one container is stacked.

Abstract: A flat opening box consisting of a central base tray to the sides of which cover shells are hingedly connected to open out onto a flat surface; pivot link members are connected to movable trays in the cover shells which are also hingedly connected to the cover shells so that the box can be opened to a fully flat condition to prevent tilting and spillage of its contents when open.

Abstract: A food tray carrier particularly adapted for use by catering services and the like for moving a plurality of trays containing prepared food from a place of preparation to a place for service or further preparation, as for example, on an airplane for serving passengers, comprises an open front housing having a plurality of elongated tray supporting ribs integral with and extending inwardly from opposite side walls of the housing and door opening frame members and stiffeners are mounted on forwardly facing edge portions of housing walls. A closure member is hingedly mounted on the housing for selectively closing the open front of the housing with the closure member, mounting and housing cooperating to form a strong durable structure that is of light weight for portability. The closure member has walls on an inwardly facing surface thereof defining an open top compartment for receiving refrigeration material therein.

Abstract: Navigation table attachable by an arm to the base of an aircraft seat can be folded to a storage position beside the seat when not in use. The table surface comprises the top of a box which can be used for the storage of maps or papers. The box is mounted so that it can be easily removed from the seat and used by the pilot like a small attache case to transport maps and other materials to and from the aircraft. A plurality of adjustments on the table mounting arm permit the table surface to have its surface angle varied in addition to being movable, sideways, up and down and fore and aft.

Abstract: A cassette or similar article storage cabinet including an open frame enclosure means including opposed sides having vertically spaced horizontally positioned support flanges. One or more flexible partition members having support flanges on opposite sidewalls thereof are removably engagable with the frame to provide support action. Different sized articles can be accepted by providing one or two parallel vertically extending partition members in the frame.

Abstract: A detachable-table unit for extending the available and useful work and storage surfaces of portable television cabinets, including a top, an outer frame below the top for support on portable television cabinets and an inner frame and movable rod structure for securing the unit from sliding or tipping by enclosing the television handle and fitting against it beneath the grip; other embodiments include adjustment, buffet, drop leaf, shelving, drawer and antenna access features.
