  • Patent number: 5513910
Abstract: A storage compartment for a refrigerator door is disclosed which includes a recess formed in the door liner of the refrigerator. The recess is provided with pivot connections and a pivot stop. A rack is provided that is made to allow viewing of the contents. The rack is rotatably insertable into the recess defined by the door liner and can then be rotated forwardly from the door until the rack comes into contact with the stop on the door. In the rotated state, the contents of the rack may be easily accessed and removed. The rack is further designed so that if the door is shut while the rack is in an open position the rack will not contact the cabinet wall, preventing damage to the cabinet and the rack.

  • Patent number: 5460441
Abstract: A rack mounted computer system has a vertically elongated cabinet structure in which a specially designed server unit is mounted. The server unit includes a slide-out outer drawer having a power supply box mounted in a lower interior portion thereof. An inner tray is slidably mounted in an upper interior portion of the outer drawer, over the power supply box, and has a system planar board and associated riser cards mounted on its top side. When the outer drawer is pulled out service access is provided to the circuit board apparatus on the inner tray. Access is provided to the power supply box by simply sliding the inner tray rearwardly relative to the opened outer drawer to expose the power supply box. Cooling fans are carried on the inner tray and within the outer drawer to cool the various computer components mounted within the server unit by flowing cooling air generally horizontally therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5335985
Abstract: Computer tape cassette storage units store a number or computer tape cassettes during periods of nonuse and are particularly adapted for use in an automated tape cassette archiving and retrieval system. The storage units include at least one shelf unit having a substantially horizontally disposed shelf for supporting a row of computer tape cassettes on edge. Structures are provided so as to minimize (if not eliminate) the possibility that the tape cassettes will become dislodged from the shelf units in the event of mechanical shocks and/or vibrations (e.g., which may occur in an automated system do to a robotic manipulator coming into physical contact with the storage unit). Such structure may take the form of a forward lip against which a portion of the tape cassettes abuts and/or structures which shift the centers of gravity of the tape cassettes rearwardly toward the rear wall of the shelf units upon which they are supported.

  • Patent number: 4993786
Abstract: A storage apparatus (10) for converting a standard drawer (12) into a multiple level drawer having a stationary base tray (24) and a shiftable upper tray (26). The base tray (24) is secured to the front of the drawer (12) and includes laterally extending filler flanges (44, 46) on right and left sides of the base tray (24). The upper tray (26) is detachably secured to a support panel (54). Roller and track assemblies (30, 32) interconnect the support panel (54) of the upper tray (26) to the base tray (24). The upper tray (26) is shifted until it extends through an opening (76) formed in the rear wall (18) of the drawer (12). The roller and track assembly (30, 32) preferably includes channels (60) secured to the upstanding walls (34, 36) of the bottom tray (24) and bearing members (62) secured to the channels (60). • Patent number: 4278308
Abstract: One or more upper hung drawers in a single tier as in a file cabinet or desk pedestal each is provided with a floor that is split in two along its length from front to back and hinged along its side edges or along its width side-to-side and hinged along the front and back edges. A retainer when in place keeps this floor up and functional. When the retainer is removed, the floor sections rotate down along their respective hinge joints and hang into the next lower drawer flat against its side walls or front and back walls. This gangs the two drawers together effectively as one, deeper drawer. Two, three or more drawers may be ganged together in this manner. In one variation, the floor is split in two along its width from side to side and each part is sub-divided into hinged plates.
